The rapid proliferation, great user experiences but still limited computation ability of mobile, smart device platforms has forced the software developer to integrate mobile applications with existing computer software or web applications. To allow that integration, it needs a technology called web services which acts as an interface to communicate one application to other applications (machine-to-machine communication) in spite of the platform differences. By using web services, mobile applications can be able to access resources from computer software or web applications. This research is conducted to design a web services interface model for the existing software applications in Catholic Parahyangan University. This model covers several information system issues such as performance, security, reliability, independency, and scalability. To prove our model can be implemented, we develop several software prototypes for simulating the mechanism how the model works. For the next work, we expect the model to be implemented in the real environment.

To increase education quality in rural areas, many researcher in Indonesia proposed Digital Learning as an alternative solution. Digital learning is constructed by utilizing information and communication technology (ICT) benefitting ICT main characteristics as a low cost, easy and quick deployment, and ease of operation and maintenance by using streaming video technology on Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN). Video streaming technology used WiFi or IEEE 802.11, specifically 802.11e MAC that supports Quality of Service (QoS). Several Digital Learning infrastructure built in Indonesia rural areas main problem is channel contention which caused a low throughput and affected the quality of video streaming. QoS provide a way to improve video streaming quality. QoS method for IEEE 802.11e is explained. Several studies proved video streaming quality can be improved using existing parameter in IEEE 802.11e. Model to implement and measure using existing parameter in IEEE 802.11e to improve video streaming quality for Digital Learning in Indonesia rural area is proposed in this paper.

LQ45 is a stock market index for Indonesia Stock Exchange (ISX) consists of 45 companies that fulfill certain criteria to aim investor choosing some stocks. However, whether these stocks have tended to rise in price within a specified period. In this paper we analyze some stocks in LQ45 by discrete wavelet transforms. We decomposed signals from closed prices by discrete wavelet transform. Approximation signal from individual stock compared to approximation signal from JCI (Jakarta Composite Index) to justify that it have same trend.

Social networking become an essential part of life in both personal as well as professional relationships. We, therefore implement the pattern analysis of connections in a social media network. For more effective and faster connection suggestions on social networking websites we need to analyze connected networks on the basis of clustering and adaptive decision boundary techniques. The connection suggestion and classification based on minimum computation time in social networks has become an area of major interest. These algorithms occupy a lot of host machine resources to execute the bunch of nested threads that result in the overall speed reduction. Therefore we have seen the GPU is become an essential part of standard internet browsers to speed up the applications. If we want to run a simple decision boundary classifier application in real-time, either a very high speed processor along with bulk of free memory is required or some other parallel computing techniques should be used. In this paper, we are trying to take benefit from NVIDIA's GPU to build a robust classification technique for pattern recognition with adaptive decision boundaries using CUDA to ensure high speed connection suggestions and better network connection analysis.

In this paper we use the concept of co-design and human information system to suggest the doctors, colleagues and patients (DCP) social network that enables communication between clinics, doctors and patients; and among the doctors to improve the standard. We propose a DCP social network architecture based on the cloud computing and two algorithms. The first algorithm initializes the working group list into the proposed P2P network and integrates them with current network such as Swedish National projects (NPO). The second algorithm enables user to search DCP social network using criteria such as near distance and location. In DCP social network, how patients make judgments in selecting their physicians interpret the important aspects which are not only the way patients relate to the information system but also what the role of intelligent DCP social network in healthcare sector. Experimental results show that the proposed method based on DCP social network which requires co-designing has the execution time less than that of traditional Azure P2P network. As a second contribution, WG list helps to control the growth of DCP social networks nodes.

The remote monitoring system is growing very rapidly due to the growth of supporting technologies as well. Problem that may occur in remote monitoring such as the number of objects to be monitored and how fast, how much data to be transmitted to the data center to be processed properly. This study proposes using a cloud computing infrastructure as processing center in the remote sensing data. This study focuses on the situation for sensing on the environment condition and disaster early detection. Where those two things, it has become an important issue, especially in big cities big cities that have many residents. This study proposes to build the conceptual and also prototype model in a comprehensive manner from the remote terminal unit until development method for data retrieval. We also propose using FTR-HTTP method to guarantee the delivery from remote client to server.

This paper deals with social network approach to understand an organizational management problem. Four groups of factors, i.e., workplace spirituality, affective commitment, continuance commitment and normative commitment are used to quantify the level of organizational commitment. In total, there are forty measurements representing those factors. To analyze which factors that strongly influence the level of organizational commitment, social network approach is used where each measurement is considered as a member of social group and the relationship among them as social relationship. To illustrate the advantage of this approach, a case study on the level of organizational commitment in Malaysia will be presented and discussed.

Mobile application providing access to some Online Social Network (OSN) services like Facebook and Twitter had been launch bundled with a data access subscription plan. At the end of 2010, the user of the application increased significantly to more than two millions subscribers while the number of active users grew slowly for only about 300.000 users per month. This research was conducted to see how the user use the OSN application. This research utilized the data collected from user's profile, transaction log and activity log from the service provider. The result was then analyzed using descriptive statistics to discover the pattern of user's behavior of the mobile online social network application. Authors found that user's behavior of mobile online social network service was almost the same as other online social network service users but with special characteristics since mobile users tend to have close session-tosession interval and might have longer session duration. This study will give the service provider recommendation to define better strategy for future development and improvement. The result can also be a reference for another similar research on mobile online social network application in the future.

Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) based on IEEE 802.11e provides Quality of Service (QoS) support at the Medium Access Control (MAC) sublayer. IEEE 802.11e MAC sublayer uses a function called Hybrid Coordination Function (HCF) with Enhanced Distributed Channel Access (EDCA). EDCA is a QoS mechanism that provides a priority scheme by differentiating interframe space and contention window size, it also uses Contention Free Bursting (CFB) scheme that can improve the efficiency of the system. In this study we analyzed performance of wireless network based on IEEE 802.11e in supporting QoS for multimedia transmission. We use three different types of traffic, those are voice, video, and data to analyze the performance of the network in supporting multimedia transmission.

This paper describes a software design that can help system engineer remastering an Ubuntu Linux distribution. The software will be used to create recovery media for rural digital learning implementations in Indonesia. The remastering product contains preinstalled multimedia software for distance learning; furthermore, it is Live-CD Linux type and it can do unattended installation. This software offers customizable operating system configuration with wizard-type user interface design. Users can choose and pick a list of software that will be included in installation media from dropdown boxes and checkboxes. Remastering process will be executed by batch process and users can see its progress in a progress bar. In comparison with manual remastering by terminal command or using available software, this software has advantages that it provides simple and intuitive graphical user interface and the content is designed for digital learning in Indonesia.
