Indonesia is a country with abundant biodiversity. Increased bacterial resistance Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus antibiotics require alternative treatment, one of which is medicinal plants. Kencur (Kaempferia galanga L.) is a medicinal plant that contains saponins, flavonoids, phenols, and tannins, which can inhibit bacterial growth. This study aimed to determine the antibacterial effect of kencur rhizome ethanol extract (Kaempferia galanga L.) against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. This research is an experimental laboratory design post-test only control group design. The rhizomes of kencur were extracted using 70% ethanol and tested for antibacterial activity using the well method. There were 6 groups in the study, namely the positive control group using ciprofloxacin, the negative control using distilled water, kencur rhizome ethanol extract concentrations of 12.5%, 25%, 50%, and 100%. The largest diameter of the inhibition zone was found at a concentration of 100%, with an average of 10.18 mm in the bacteria Escherichia coli and 22.47 mm in the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus. In conclusion, the ethanol extract of kencur rhizome (Kaempferia galanga L.) can inhibit the growth of bacteria Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus.

The workload of medical record unit staff at a hospital can vary depending on the size and type of hospital, the number of patients, and the internal policies implemented. Medical record unit employees are responsible for collecting, managing, and storing patient medical records. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the workload of employees in the medical records unit greatly increased because there was a surge in patients due to the pandemic. An increase in the number of patients occurred in all hospitals in Indonesia, including Mitra Masyarakat Hospital, Mimika. This study aimed to describe the workload profile of employees in the medical records unit at Mitra Masyarakat Hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research is descriptive observational research. The location of this research is Mitra Masyarakat Hospital, Mimika, Indonesia. The research was conducted from March to August 2021. Data sources were obtained from interviewing informants, observing and measuring workload in the medical record unit before and during the pandemic. The variables measured in this study were available working time, workload standards, supporting task standards, and supporting task factors, as well as the need for human resources in the Mitra Masyarakat Hospital work unit. The results of the study show that the available working time for medical record unit personnel for each section is 1300 hours/year or 78,000 minutes/year. The need for health human resources for the medical record unit is as many as 20 people. There are 9 medical record officers currently owned by RSMM. Thus it can be concluded the number of employees is less when compared to the workload in the medical record unit at Mitra Masyarakat Hospital.

Many endocrine-related conditions have attracted the attention of medical societies worldwide. Many of them may have a serious impact on female re-productivity and overall health. Among them is the polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). However, an early diagnosis is crucial in avoiding any potential complications. This study aimed at evaluating the awareness of PCOS among Jordanian females. The outcomes shall be implemented to improve public health through the various educational services, medical campaigns, and healthcare practitioners in Jordan and other societies. A cross-sectional study using a survey (questionnaires) was directed toward a sample of Jordanian females aged 18-40 years. The assessment of their knowledge and understanding included its signs, symptoms, and associated health risks. Thus, the collected data were subject to processing and statistical analysis. The majority of females (73.3%) were aware of the potentiality of PCOS, but the majority of the sample was not satisfactorily familiar with the signs and symptoms of the disease, and only 6% confirmed getting education directly from a doctor. The study outcome reveals that the current level of PCOS awareness among Jordanian females needs a comprehensive educational effort.

One of the key factors in the development of psoriasis is inflammation. In people with psoriasis, the immune system mistakenly attacks healthy skin cells, causing them to grow too quickly. This leads to the buildup of dead skin cells on the surface of the skin. Vitamin D can help to reduce inflammation by suppressing the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines. This study aimed to conduct a systematic review to explore the potential of vitamin D supplementation in psoriasis. The literature search process was carried out on various databases (PubMed, Web of Sciences, EMBASE, Cochrane Libraries, and Google Scholar) regarding the potential of vitamin D supplementation in psoriasis. This study follows the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analysis (PRISMA) recommendations. Vitamin D inhibits the inflammatory process in psoriasis by inhibiting the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines, activating anti-inflammatory, immune cells, and protecting cells from damage caused by inflammation.

The treatment of CAD depends on the severity of the disease and the individual's risk factors. There are a number of medications that can help to slow the progression of CAD and reduce the risk of complications. The treatments for CAD can have side effects, which can make it difficult for people to adhere to their treatment plan. The treatments for CAD can be expensive, which can make it difficult for people to afford them. This is especially true for people who do not have insurance. This study aimed to conduct a systematic review to explore the potential of CRISPR in CAD management. The literature search process was carried out on various databases (PubMed, Web of Sciences, EMBASE, Cochrane Libraries, and Google Scholar) regarding the potential of CRISPR in the treatment of coronary artery disease. This study follows the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analysis (PRISMA) recommendations. CRISPR has great potential as a future therapeutic modality for coronary artery disease, where this technology is able to control various CAD risk factors and can trigger the formation of new blood vessels to overcome coronary artery blockade. However, this very potential technology still requires ethical concern studies in order to be able to maintain human sustainability.

Various efforts and methods have been developed to increase individual awareness of maintaining oral health. Behavioral planning interventions differ from interventions or counseling, which generally only prioritize aspects of knowledge. The theory of planned behavior states that a behavior is not necessarily born from mere knowledge; there are contributions of other factors, such as the role of peer groups and beliefs, which play a role in triggering a behavior. This study aimed to evaluate the role of behavioral planning interventions in maintaining oral health behavior in adolescents. This study is a quasi-experimental study with a pre and post-test design approach. The research was conducted on new students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The inclusion criteria for participants were new students (less than six months studying in college), 18 years old, and willing to participate. Participants filled out the initial questionnaire as a pre-test to assess aspects of knowledge related to dental health. Then the subjects were given behavioral planning interventions by creating a group community using social media for all research subjects. The intervention process was carried out for three months. A post-test evaluation was conducted to assess the success of the intervention. Data analysis was carried out using the SPSS version 25 program. The results of this study indicate an improvement in scores related to personal attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, and behavior to maintain dental and oral health after conducting behavioral planning interventions (p <0.05). In conclusion, behavioral planning interventions help improve individual behavior in maintaining oral health in adolescents.

Children do not get enough energy intake, so the body will use energy reserves in the form of fat and protein to maintain important body functions. This can cause weight loss in children, especially if the nutritional deficiency lasts for a long time. Overall, a child's height and weight are very important in assessing a child's nutritional status because both are good indicators of growth and development. If there are disturbances in the growth and development of children, then this can be a sign that the child has nutritional problems that need to be taken seriously. This study aimed to determine the relationship between height and weight with malnutrition in infants at the Dukuh Kupang Health Center area as a descriptive observational study. The data used in this study were height and weight data as well as the nutritional status of infants obtained from Health Centers in the Dukuh Kupang Health Center area. Regression analysis was performed to determine whether height and weight have a significant effect on the nutritional status of infants. The results showed that height and weight had a significant effect on the nutritional status of infants, with significant regression coefficient values for each variable. In addition, the ANOVA test also shows that the regression model used is significant. These results can be used as a basis for improving public health programs related to the problem of malnutrition in toddlers in the Dukuh Kupang Health Center area.

The inflammatory response is the rapid initiation and interplay of humoral (dissolved in the blood) and cellular systems designed to limit the degree of tissue damage, destroy infectious microorganisms, initiate an adaptive immune response, and initiate the healing process. This review aimed to comprehensively describe the role of the inflammatory response in innate immunity. Three key plasma protein systems are essential for an effective inflammatory response. These are the complement system, clotting system, and kinin system. Although each system has a unique role in inflammation, they also share many similarities. Each system consists of several proteins in the blood. To prevent activation in unnecessary situations, each protein is normally in an inactive form. Some proteins are enzymes that circulate in an inactive form as proenzymes. Each system contains several proteins that can be activated at the start of inflammation. Cells of the innate and acquired immune systems are recruited and activated by biochemical mediators produced at sites of cell damage. These molecules originate from destroyed or damaged cells, contaminating microbes, activation of plasma protein systems, or secretion by other cells of the innate or acquired immune system. Activation may result in the cell acquiring a function essential for the inflammatory response or inducing the release of additional cellular products that promote inflammation, or both. In conclusion, inflammatory cells and various protein systems (complement, kinin, and clotting), together with the substances they produce, act at the site of tissue injury to limit the extent of damage, kill microorganisms, and remove debris in preparation for healing: tissue regeneration or repair.
