Analytical Evaluation of BER Considering Effect of Cross-Polarization in a Polarization Diversity 4×4 MIMO Satellite to Ground Link 考虑极化分集中交叉极化影响的误码率分析评价4×4 MIMO卫星对地链路

An analytical evaluation of Bit Error Rate (BER) performance considering the effect of cross-polarization under 4×4 polarization diversity MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) from satellite to ground is modeled. The BER equation is derived using Rician k-factors and SINR (Signal to Interference plus Noise Ratio). A comprehensive simulation is performed for evaluating BER performance, Receiver sensitivity and power penalty in four areas namely Open Area (OA), Sub-urban Area(SA), Urban Area(UA), Aeronautical/Marine Area(A/M A). Then, BER is evaluated in four areas and simulation results reveal that all the four schemes under the proposed framework suffers power penalty. To the end, it is found that SA and UA schemes experiences higher power penalty in 4×4 MIMO over 2×2 MIMO configuration.

Efficient and Stable Perovskite Solar Cell with TiO2 Thin Insulator Layer as Electron Transport 以TiO2薄绝缘体层作为电子传输层的高效稳定钙钛矿太阳能电池

Organic–inorganic metal halide perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have been attracted much attention due to their intense broad–band absorption, high charge carrier mobility, low–cost precursor materials and simple solution processing and the impressive upsurge in their solar to electric power conversion efficiency (PCE) over the last few years. An optimized layer structure of PSC with a very thin TiO2 as electron transport layer has been proposed. The optimized PSC shows the highest efficiency ever reported in this system. Insertion of a very thin TiO2 beneath the perovskite material enhances efficiency significantly. However, efficiency has been drastically declined while TiO2 is used on the perovskite material. The role of TiO2 has been studied and the mechanism has also been explained using established formalism. This study has implication to design further efficient and stable PSC to meet energy crisis.

Developing Reversible Data Hiding with Interpolation and Local Dispersion 利用插值和局部色散实现可逆数据隐藏

Recent Interpolation-based Reversible Data Hiding (IRDH) schemes demonstrated significantly higher embedding capacity, however, their embedded image quality is not much impressive, particularly for higher size payload. This paper presents an improved IRDH scheme with local dispersion for better quality embedded image. For high embedding capacity, correlation based embedding is utilized in all embeddable bits only in the interpolated pixels. The error between an embedded pixel and its original version is then reduced using the local (i.e., block-wise) standard deviation to further improve the embedded image quality. Since the standard deviation is computed from the original pixels and their respective interpolated pixels in a block, the improved embedding process remains reversible to losslessly extract the embedded data. All the original pixels are also kept intact for perfect recovery of the original image. A significant improvement in embedded image quality is thus recorded in comparison to the state-of-the-art IRDH schemes.

A Low-Cost and Portable Electrocardiogram (ECG) Machine for Preventing Diagnosis 一种低成本便携式预防诊断心电图机

Electrocardiogram (ECG) machines observe the electrical activity of the heart using electrodes on the skin surface and extract vital information about its functionality. Observations made through an ECG machine are usually recorded and is used to diagnose heart-related disorders. Typically, medically usable ECG machines are expensive thus the service is not easily affordable and accessible for the mass in developing countries like Bangladesh. This research designs a low-cost and portable ECG machine which could be a prototype, if successful in overcoming healthcare regulations, to enable easy observations variations of an Electrocardiogram among the mass. The entire system is comprised of an analog circuit and a processing unit. Primarily, the signal from the body is sensed using bio-electro-potential sensors or more widely known AgCl electrodes. Then an analog circuit retrieves and amplifies the signals received from the body to enable further processing. Moreover, a major component of the processing unit is to enable users to see the signal and allow the scope for a more precise output signal through further filtration both on the machine and over the web. The design used is effective, cheap, and easily doable so that it can be easily replicable.

Emotion Detection from Speech Signals using Voting Mechanism on Classified Frames 基于分类帧投票机制的语音信号情感检测

Understanding human emotion is a complicated task for humans themselves, however, this did not stop the researchers from trying to make machines capable of understanding human emotions. Many approaches have been followed, using speech signals to detect emotions has been popular among these approaches. In this study, Mel Frequency Cepstrum Coefficient (MFCC) features were extracted from speech signals to detect the underlying emotion of the speech. Extracted features were used to classify different emotions using LMT classifier. For each frame of a speech signal, 13-dimensional feature vectors were extracted and Logistic Model Tree (LMT) models were trained using these features. For classifying an unknown speech signal, the 13-dimensional frame features are first extracted from the signal and each frame is classified using the trained model. Using a voting mechanism on the classified frames, the emotion of the speech signal is detected. Experimental results on two datasets- Berlin Database of Emotional Speech (Emo-DB) and Ryerson Audio-Visual Database of Emotional Speech and Song (RAVDESS) show that our approach works very well in classifying certain emotions while it struggles to discern the differences between some pairs of emotions. Among the trained models, the maximum accuracy achieved was 70% in detecting 7 different emotions. Considering the small dimension size of the feature vectors used, this approach provides an efficient solution to classifying different emotions using speech signals.

Many government, non-government, private sector professionals openly advocate the concept of ‘Smart City’ around the world. For city inhabitants, it ensures environment friendliness, comfort, safety with minimum usage of resources. Smart Building Management is one of the major steps. The authors here present an IoT system management based on a survey they conducted on May 2018, its results and expectations for 5-storey residential building, projecting ideas that contributing to its technical impact factor ‘T’, social impact factor ‘S’ and business impact factor ‘B’. Partial simulation of the study is done; showing that for monitoring, maintenance, cost and overconsumption reduction, this system will be a state of the art.

Design and Analysis of a Semi-Elliptical Ultra-Compact Nano-plasmonic Coupler 半椭圆超紧凑纳米等离子体耦合器的设计与分析

In this paper, we propose a novel design and demonstrate the analysis of a highly efficient three-dimensional nano-plasmonic semi-elliptical coupler between a dielectric waveguide and metal-dielectric-metal (MDM) plasmonic waveguides. Numerical simulation yields coupling efficiency up to ∼78% at the optical communication wavelength of 1550 nm. The dependence of coupling efficiency has been studied by changing the width of the plasmonic waveguide and the length of the semi-minor axis. Based on these results, the optimum dimensions of the semi-elliptical coupler have been determined. In both scenario, the transmission response of the proposed structure is found to be broadband. Using optimum dimensions, we have analyzed coupling efficiency, reflection coefficient, return loss and voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) at a broad range of input signal wavelengths.

Numerical simulation yields coupling efficiency up to ∼78% at the optical communication wavelength of 1550 nm. The dependence of coupling efficiency has been studied by changing the width of the plasmonic waveguide and the length of the semi-minor axis. Based on these results, the optimum dimensions of the semi-elliptical coupler have been determined. In both scenario, the transmission response of the proposed structure is found to be broadband. Symptom Analysis of Diabetic Retinopathy by Micro-Aneurysm Detection Using NPRTOOL 应用NPRTOOL检测糖尿病视网膜病变微动脉瘤的症状分析

Diabetic retinopathy is known to be a hazardous eye disease which can cause vision loss or blindness in long run. Recently, this disease has spread dangerously among people who are suffering from diabetes. In this paper, a diabetic retinopathy identification technique has been proposed by utilizing rear end eye image i.e., fundus image obtained from the retina of the patient. This method involves digital image processing on fundus image. Micro-aneurysm, which is considered as first stage of diabetic retinopathy has been diagnosed using MATLAB Neural Network Pattern Recognition Tool (NPRTOOL). The proposed method has been compared to two other existing methods- Naive Bayes method and SVM classifier method. In this research, NPRTOOL tool has been used for calculation and experimental work. Significant improvement has been found in terms of sensitivity and accuracy compared to the aforementioned existing methods.

Design and Implementation of Smart Security System for Human Safety 面向人类安全的智能安防系统设计与实现

Security has become an important issue everywhere. When it comes to human safety, the proposed system can be applied to make it smarter, safer and automated. Using two sensors Flex and PIR the system was made both manually and automatically activated. Based on the sensor the system turns on and tracks victim’s location. Then the location is sent it to some selected numbers as well as saved in the server. This work includes data collection by using sensors. To transmit to a centralized server and upload to the website Raspberry pi and GSM is used. Through this system people of all ages can be benefitted. The system can be upgraded and improved by further additions of features. When a human will bend his fixed finger after facing any kind of danger, the resister value of flex will be changed and system will be on. At that moment not only SMS including location will be sent to the fixed numbers but also it will be uploaded and saved as still images to the website.

Analysis of Grid Integrated PV System as Home RES with Net Metering Scheme 带净计量方案的家庭可再生能源并网光伏系统分析

To meet the increased demand of electricity, PV system is being used as home RES (Renewable Energy Source) throughout the world. In this paper, a grid integrated PV system has been proposed with net metering scheme. A home of 149 sq. meter in Dhaka city is considered whose average daily load is 11.27 kWh/day with an annual peak load of 1.21 kW. According to DESCO (Dhaka Electric Supply Company Limited), for the span of last one year (July, 2017-July, 2018) the monthly electricity usage of this home varies from 401-600 units (kWh) with a Cost of Energy (COE) of $0.1. Simulation and analysis of the proposed system shows that the Cost of Energy (COE) and Net present Cost (NPC) of the proposed system can be reduced to a great extent with the application of net metering scheme which also improves the renewable fraction of the system.
