Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) and Integrative Medicine (IM) have the characteristic aspect of patient-oriented medicine. Recent problems include elderly people with sarcopenia, frailty, nutritional disorder and daily rehabilitation. It has been evaluated by International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF). A circulating process for rehabilitation nutrition care has five stages, which are Assessment/diagnostic reasoning, Diagnosis, Goal setting, Intervention, Monitoring. For goal setting, check list for SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time) is useful. Diagnosis of rehabilitation nutrition includes the presence or absence of malnutrition, sarcopenia, and deficiency or excess of nutrient intake. When a subject has sarcopenia, we had to check whether it should be improved and whether it can be improved. To prevent iatrogenic sarcopenia will bring the benefit preventing sarcopenia in the whole body, swallowing- and respiratory-related muscles.

Nocturnal enuresis is intermittent involuntary emission of urine during sleep that does not awaken the patient. We present a 22-year-old woman with no known allergies or past medical history a part of a slight mental disability from childhood not affiliated. She suffers from occasional nocturnal enuresis especially when she is more relaxed at night and in menses period. Treatment with acupuncture and moxibustion improves this case in only four sessions of Acupuncture and self-Moxibustion at home. Acupuncture could be a safe and effective technique to improve nocturnal enuresis.

The constant use of chemotherapy induces resistance in the cancer cells and they become refractive to treatment leading to treatment failure. Therefore, it is necessary to screen newer agents which are less toxic and kill neoplastic cells effectively. Plants have provided several anticancer modern chemotherapeutic drugs including vinca alkaloids, taxols, epipodophyllotoxins etc. and still can provide newer molecules for cancer treatment. Therefore, present study was undertaken to study the cytotoxic activity of Mimosa pudica or Lajwanti whole plant extracted in chloroform, ethanol and water in cultured Dalton’s ascites lymphoma cells that were treated with 0, 10, 25, 50, 75, 100, 150, 200 and 250µg/ ml of chloroform, ethanol and aqueous extracts by MTT assay. The chloroform, ethanol and aqueous extracts of Lajwanti killed Dalton’s ascites lymphoma cells in a dose related manner and the aqueous extract was most potent when compared to ethanol and chloroform extracts. The aqueous extract had an IC 50 value of 71.32µg/ml followed by ethanol extract with an IC 50 of 90.33µg/ml, whereas chloroform extract was least effective with an IC 50 of 1190.69µg/ml. Our study demonstrates that Lajwanti, a traditionally used plant in Ayurveda has a cytotoxic activity and may be useful to kill neoplastic cells.

A strategy of integrating Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with Western medicine is proposed for better case management of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) that is rapidly spreading in the world. We have reviewed the abundant classic TCM literature and from it linked several key texts to findings from biomedical research against SARS-CoV-2, including in silico studies of the efficacious compounds in TCM formulae. We have identified three TCM formulae: Yin Qiao San ( 銀翹散 ), San Ju Yin ( 桑菊飲 ), and Xie Bai San ( 瀉白散 ) as they seem to hold high potentials against SARS-CoV-2 in COVID-19 patients. The strategy calls for early administration of these TCM formulae to decrease the rate of transformation from mild/moderate status into severe/critical status, thereby reducing the demand for ICU facility and ventilators.

Psoriasis is a common non-infectious disease, considered to be a chronic autoimmune condition, T-cell mediated, characterized by faster replacement of epidermis cells on the basal membrane level, consequently causing inflammation and scaling, affecting 2-3% of population. In palmoplantar psoriasis (PPP) fissures and bleeding aggravate patient’s discomfort. Besides conventional dermatologic treatment, many patients choose homeopathic treatment for this condition due to their efficacy and lack of side-effects. In reports on homeopathic treatment of psoriasis the most used medicaments were so called polycrests, or big remedies (like Sulphur, Lycopodium, Natrum muriaticum, etc). In our article we report a case of PPP treated till recovery with a rare homeopathic remedy for this condition, Secale Cornutum , which was prescribed according to individualization of patient signs and symptoms.

Goals and objectives of the study: The goal of this paper was to study combined effect of music and frequency therapy from the BioCor device on stress levels in humans. Study design: Using GDV/ Bio-Well technology the effect of music and frequency therapy for 10 minutes to human anxiety level for a group of 30 participants was studied with the Mood Mapping Profile Questionnaire and Bio-Well technology, compared with 30 participants resting for 10minutes. Results: The statistically significant positive effect after 10minutes of therapy was demonstrated for all the participants, but stronger effect was recorded for women participants. No changes were recorded for a control group. Conclusions: This study confirms the efficiency of the combined action of music and frequency therapy.

This article discusses some of the health benefits of walking. In particular it discusses two styles of walking drawn from Chinese martial arts and health practices that have been documented to help alleviate stress and stress related illness. It also discusses the differences Situational Stress and Insipient Stress and provides simple descriptions of these Qigong based walking exercises that may be done anywhere and at any time.
