Background: Nurses have to interact frequently with patients, putting them at the high risk of being victimized by violence. As the results, workplace violence among this group is an important issue. This study was conducted to describe nurses’ reports on violence at works. Methods: this cross-sectional study was carried out from March to May, 2021. A sample of 201 RN-BNS nursing students, who were studying during the data collection period and gave consents to participate in the study, was recruited and responded to the self-administered survey. Results: Among 201 respondents, 40 nurses (19.9%) reported to experience workplace violence before. The majority of victims are women (65.0%) aged from 30 to under 40 years old (77.5%), mainly in inpatient and emergency departments (42.5% and 22.5%, respectively). Most incidents occurred on weekdays (80.0%). The perpetrators are patients and their relatives (47.5%). Verbal attacks were the most common form of violence (92.5%). After being attacked, 45.0% of nurses reported the events, and 67.5% of cases were investigated and handled by hospitals. Notably, 65.0% of nurses were satisfied with resolutions of the hospitals. The majority of nurses was reluctant to report the violence because of seeing no benefit to report (25.0%), and do not know who to report to (20.0%). Conclusions: Although, workplace violence was prevalent, nurses were, in general, not satisfied with the resolutions of the hospitals. Objective: The study was undertaken in Hanoi and Hochiminh city to identify the knowledge and attitude of youth 15-24 years of age to e cigarettes in 2020. Method: This was a cross sectional study with a qualitative study combination. KISH method was applied to select 1,211 study participants at one urban and one suburban district in each city. There were 6 indepth interviews, 4 group interview and 2 group discussions to be conducted. Data was clean and entered using EpiData 3.1 software and was analyzed by STATA 16.0 software. Mean value, frequencies were used with a significant level of .05. Qualitative data was transcribed and analyzed by given topics. Results: The average knowledge score of adolescents is 5.88 points compared to a maximum total score of 14 (SD: 3.44). 15.8% of teenagers think that e-cigarettes are more dangerous than traditional cigarettes. The average point of the study's attitude is 4.43 compared to the maximum score of 8 points (SD: 2.44). More than two-thirds of the respondents (68.1%) said that smoking e-cigarettes is a matter of public health concern and nearly half (49.5%) said that e-cigarettes should be banned in Vietnam. Conclusion: The knowledge and attitudes of 15-24 year olds about e-cigarettes are still limited. Information on e-cigarettes needs to be introduced into schools, at least from the lower secondary level so that students can better understand the harmful effects of e-cigarettes, in order to reduce the risk of smoking e-cigarettes at the age from high school and above.

Background: Periodontal disease is a significant public health problem in most countries. Evaluation of the current status of periodontal disease and related factors in the elderly is an essential issue for implementation of appropriate interventions. The objective of this study is to evaluate the current situation of periodontal disease and related factors of the elderly in Hue city. Subjects and research methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study, based on ratio formula, 316 elderly people in 4 wards of Hue city were chosen. We performed clinical examination, assessment of periodontal indices, community periodontal index (CPI) and interviews with questionnaires about periodontal disease and related factors according to the community oral health survey form of the World Health Organization. Results: the rate of periodontal disease in the elderly was 82.9%. Up to 262 (82.9%) elderly people needed treatment, of which 7 needed specialized combined treatment (CPITN 1 – CPITN 3). Multivariate analysis showed significant relationship between the severity of periodontal disease with the following factors: educational level, comprehension of dangers of periodontal disease, presence of plaque and poor tartar index (p < 0.05). Conclusion: The rate of periodontal disease is still significant, therefore, it is necessary to have prevention and treatment programs of periodontal disease for the elderly in Hue City.
