One of the key features of social networks is that users are able to share information, and through cascades of sharing information, this information may reach a large number of individuals. The high availability of user-provided contents on online social media facilitates people aggregation around shared beliefs, interests, worldviews and narratives. With lack of means to verify information, social media has been accused of becoming a hot bed for sharing of misinformation. Facebook, as one of the largest social networking services, has been facing widespread criticism on how its newsfeed algorithm is designed thus amplifying dissemination of misinformation. In late 2016, Facebook revealed plans to address fake news on Facebook newsfeeds. In this work, we study the methods Facebook has proposed to combat the spread of misinformation and compare it with our previously proposed approach called ‘Right-click Authenticate’. By analyzing the Business Process Modeling and Notation of both approaches, this paper suggests some key weaknesses and improvements social media companies need to consider when tackling the spread of misinformation online.

Short-term effects of a low dose of olive mill wastewater on pomological characteristics of olive fruits and on oil quality: Olive oil quality is negatively affected by OMW application 低剂量橄榄厂废水对橄榄果实果学特性和油品品质的短期影响:施用OMW对橄榄油品质有负面影响

The present work was aimed at evaluating, under natural situations (field of olive trees, Olea europea cv Chemlali), the effects of one-year agronomic application of an olive mill wastewater (OMW) biologically derived compost. The experimental study was carried in 2014 in an olive orchard situated at Jammel (region of Monastir-Tunisia). An experimental plot (TM, 50 olive trees) was amended on February 2014 (the 'Off year) with 50 m3/ha. The plot TC (50 olive trees) was not amended and served as a control. After one year of OMW application, at harvest, olive fruits were collected and pomological characteristics were determined. Olive oil was extracted and biochemical parameters were studied. Statistical analyses showed that short-term field application of OMW affected negatively carpometric characteristics of olive fruits and oil content. Oil produced from TM had a decreased pigment content and oxidative stability. Moreover, the level of MUFA, particularly oleic acid, as well as C18:1/C18:2 and MUFA/PUFA ratios were negatively influenced by OMW amendment which affects negatively olive oil quality and nutritional value. These findings must be taken into consideration when developing strategies for oil quality enhancement, especially in an exporting country like Tunisia.

Performance of fault tolerant WBAN for healthcare 用于医疗保健的容错WBAN性能

This paper presents the architecture of a fault tolerant Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) for healthcare systems. A patient's vital physiological sensor data is sent over two redundant paths to be processed, analyzed and monitored, while response could be generated if necessary. The two main communication protocols used in this system are low power Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11n) and Long Term Evolution (LTE). The system is modeled with real-time requirements and has two closed loops for data processing and two open loops for data monitoring. Riverbed Modeler is used to model different scenarios based on the failure status of the individual nodes along with the patient's health status. Simulation results were collected with a 95% confidence performed on the maximum of 33 runs. Then, two interference models were subjected to the system and its performance was quantified. It was shown that the architecture was successful in meeting all required control criteria following the design principles of Networked Control Systems (NCS).

Transport propreties of organic single electron transistor; dependence on acene length 有机单电子晶体管的输运性质对链长的依赖

In this work, we have studied the transport properties of the single molecule transistor using Atomistix ToolKit (ATK) simulators. We have applied the extended Huckeltheory (EHT) coupled with non-equilibrium green's function (NEGF) formalism. We have investigated the rings number effect of three polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) on the transport properties. In addition, we have confirmed that our device operates as a Molecular Single Electron Transistor. The presence of Coulomb blockade phenomena has been also outlined.

A fuzzy logic method for predicting the drape behavior 窗帘性能预测的模糊逻辑方法

Drape is particularly interesting because it is characterized by a deep ambivalence, oscillating between artistic pattern and type of clothing. It is influenced by the physical and mechanical fabrics properties. In this paper, we presented a method based on the fuzzy logic which the aim is the prediction of the drape behavior (drape coefficient, drape distance ratio, fold depth index and node number) from some fabrics properties such us the bending rigidity (warp, weft and skew direction), shear rigidity and weight of fabric samples.

A unified framework for simultaneous fault and state estimation of linear discrete-time descriptor stochastic systems in the presence of the unknown disturbances 给出了存在未知扰动的线性离散广义随机系统同时故障和状态估计的统一框架

This paper considers the problem of simultaneously estimating the state and the fault of Direct Current (DC) motor in light of the recursive optimal filtering framework. A possible solution to solve this problem is to develop a robust three-stage kalman filter structure to obtain an unbiased minimum variance state and fault estimation via decoupling the unknown disturbances. The proposed filter serves as an extension to the recently designed robust two-stage kalman filter for the descriptor systems. Afterward, a descriptor stochastic model of the DC motor is proposed. This descriptor form can simultaneously express the dynamic and the constraints of the system. Furthermore, it is shown that the obtained descriptor model of the DC motor can be equivalently transformed into an equivalent standard state-space system where the actuator and sensor fault affects both the state and output equations, respectively. Whereas the disturbances only affect the state equation. The direct feedthrough matrix distribution of the fault which is assumed to be of an arbitrary rank. Finally, an application of DC motor is included to show the efficiency of the proposed filter.

This paper shows the results of adding a boost converter between a Fuel Cell generator and a resistive load in terms of voltage and current behavior. The presented results are obtained by simulating the Bond Graph developed model with a Boost Converter by using 20-Sim software.

Compact MILP models for the discrete cost multicommodity network design problem 离散成本多商品网络设计问题的紧凑MILP模型

We investigate a challenging NP-hard variant of Network Design Problems called the Discrete Cost Multicommodity Network Design Problem (DCMNDP), which arises in a wide range of real-life situations such as telecommunication settings, multicast routing and aircraft assignment. In graph theory terms, the DCMNDP requires designing a minimum cost network by installing at most one facility on each edge while the installed capacities permit the routing of a prescribed multi-commodity flow value. We focus on investigating polynomial-sized Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) formulations. Besides a basic arc-flow formulation, two new overflow and flow aggregation based formulations are proposed. To improve the performance of the proposed formulations, valid cuts/constraints are appended. Preliminary computational results are conducted on real-world networks and randomly generated instances using a general-purpose MIP solver.

Performance evaluation of virtual machines migration within a datacenter 数据中心内虚拟机迁移的性能评估

Nowadays, power consumption of data centers has significant impact on environment. Researchers are looking to find effective solutions for VM migration in data centers to reduce power consumption under given quality of service constraints. This paper presents the performance evaluation of virtual machine migration within a Datacenter. We present an energy aware simulation setting using GreenCloud simulator. The simulator enables to capture the details of tasks load and consumed energy by data center elements such as physical machines, virtual machines, switches and links. Performances results show that adequate VM migration strategy can result in significant saving in datacenter energy consumption.

Dynamical resistive switching of a generic memristor model: Analysis and simulation 一种通用忆阻器模型的动态电阻开关:分析与仿真

The memristors was theorized by Leon O. Chua in 1971 as a passive two-terminal electronic device that changes its resistive state depending on the current or voltage history through the device. Since the first fabrication of the memristor by HP Labs in 2008, it has been extensively studied for wide electronic applications. Thus, many SPICE models have been proposed to describe the behavior of memristor. All these models are focused on the pinched hysteresis loop phenomenon, which takes various shape, depending on their different properties. In this paper, we study the dynamical behavior of memristor. We use a simple and flexible SPICE memristor model to demonstrate that this model accounts for four different types of a memristor: the bipolar memristor behavior, the unipolar memristor behavior, the bipolar with forgetting effect and the reversible process between the bipolar and the unipolar behavior.
