Experimental Analysis of Key Exchange Protocols Using the JAKE Framework 基于JAKE框架的密钥交换协议实验分析

The paper presents JAKE, a lightweight Java frame-work that supports the prototype implementation and experimental analysis of cryptographic protocols used to establish secure communication channels. A first goal is to provide a common platform for experiments with various key exchange protocol constructions and cryptographic algorithm configurations, simplifying their comparative performance analysis. Another goal is to facilitate proof-of-concept implementations of attacks on these protocols. The paper presents the system architecture used for JAKE implementations and experiments, examples of implemented protocols and performance measurements, as well as examples of attacks on (vulnerable variants) of the protocols.

Creating Scalable Distributed Control Plane in SDN to Rule Out the Single Point of Failure 在SDN中创建可扩展的分布式控制平面,排除单点故障

In Software Defined Network (SDN) distributing the control plane brings tremendous benefits and reinforce the performance, scalability, and security. In SDN, a single controller provides a global view of the network status. Therefore, the controller is responsible for configuring the data plane devices. Because all control plan responsibilities are managed by a single controller, these benefits come at a high cost due to the threat of a single point of failure in the SDN network. The contribution of this work is a method to alleviate the mentioned threat. A fault-tolerant solution, which makes possible to deliver high availability and scalable new services for distribution of controllers, is proposed. The solution is based on the applications Zookeeper, Redis. The Ryu controller and Mininet are used to emulate the Software Defined Network. The prototype implementation enables multiple Ryu controllers to execute their own functions in fault-tolerant manner employing a centralized service for preserving configuration information named Redis. The functional validation of the proposed solution is presented in the paper.

This paper presents a software FPGA board simulator having Xilinx's Vivado toolchain as a backend. It offers a GUI interface to basic components such as LEDs, buttons, and switches, and may be configured to run with virtually any board without recompilation, which is very useful as a teaching/self-teaching/training tool. Both combinational and sequential circuits are supported if described in Verilog HDL. Their output is shown on the proposed GUI environment resembling various specific boards, not just on waveforms as in usual digital design simulators. The testbench can be expressed as user interaction instead of non-synthesizable code.

A Comparative Study on Global Compensation Techniques for Coherent Optical Communications 相干光通信全局补偿技术的比较研究

This paper presents a comparative study on global compensation methods for coherent optical communications. Specifically, it compares an approach based on statistical signal processing to a parametric network that combines the model knowledge with Machine/Deep Learning techniques. Simulation results show the effectiveness of both techniques in the presence of multiple linear effects like IQ imbalance, carrier frequency offset, and laser phase noise. Furthermore, these results show that the statistical signal processing approach benefits from a lower computational cost, while the parametric network is more flexible and can be easily adapted to system requirements.

In this paper, a compact dual ultra-wideband dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) for C and Ku bands applications is presented and discussed. Two approaches were used to enhance the antenna's bandwidth and to shift the resonant frequency to a lower frequency range to suit the sub-6 GHz category of fifth-generation wireless communication. The first method is by using multi-layers of the DRA material, and the second approach is by inserting air gaps between these layers. The proposed antenna design achieved a high bandwidth over two frequency ranges with fractional bandwidth (FBW) of 58.1 % and 29.5 %, which makes it suitable for satellite wireless communications.

Neural Network Based LEO Phased Array Antenna Gain Loss Prediction 基于神经网络的低轨道相控阵天线增益损耗预测

This paper proposes a neural network-based time-series predictor for the antenna gain loss of phased array beam-forming antennas in LEO satellite communication systems. The gain loss is caused by the limited set of discrete antenna beam pointing vectors which leads to a non-optimal antenna steering and thus to a varying receiving power. The main purpose of the predictor is to reduce the fixed margin in adaptive coding and modulation systems by eliminating the time delay for signaling and MODCOD switching. This paper explains the antenna gain loss effect and how to use Monte-Carlo simulations to train the neural network. The benefit of the predictor is demonstrated by a LEO satellite example system.

Optimal Charging Scheme for Electric Vehicles (EVs) in SDN-based Vehicular Network, Scheduling, and Routing 基于sdn的车联网中电动汽车最优充电方案、调度与路由

Recent development in Electric Vehicles (EV s) has provoked an important demand increase at charging points with different charging modes, (fast-charging or slow-charging). However, the power resources at charging points and parking spaces are limited, hence developing an optimisation scheme for charging is required. In addition, there is an essential need to satisfy the user preferences in terms of time and price. To this end, this paper develops an optimal charging scheme for EV s aiming to meet the user preferences in terms of time and price. Furthermore, the main objective of this paper is to avoid the overload at the charging points by minimising the service time in terms of (travelling time, charging time, and waiting time), as well as considering different charging fee. Using the proposed scheme, the EV s customers become able to charge their batteries at a specific charging point and at a specific time. This paper also exploits the Software-Defined Network (SDN) and Cloud computing, which allows real-time interactions between the user and the service provider. Besides, this paper introduces a flexible system model that allows EV customers to make suitable decisions to select a charging point where a novel charging scheme is proposed. In addition, an advanced scheduling and routing algorithm is proposed to reduce the time cost. A comprehensive simulation has been performed for the Bucharest city map use case. The results show that the proposed approach achieves optimal performance. Moreover, different charging fee mechanisms for multiple charging options are considered to maximise the income of the charging system. Finally, the results indicate that load balancing at different charging points is achieved. These findings underpin the main contribution of this work.

Comparative Performance Evaluation of Key Exchange Protocols 密钥交换协议的比较性能评估

The paper presents a comparative performance evaluation of typical constructions of authenticated key exchange protocols using asymmetric and/or symmetric cryptography. The protocols are implemented using JAKE, a lightweight Java frame-work for prototype implementation and experimental analysis of secure-channel protocols, including attacks and performance evaluation. JAKE uses the standard library of cryptographic classes included in OpenJDK. The experiments were carried out for different cryptographic algorithms and security levels. The comparative analysis demonstrates the important performance gains achieved by switching from Finite-Field Cryptography (FFC) to Elliptic-Curve Cryptography (ECC), for Diffie-Hellman (DH) key agreement, signatures, and public-key certificates. The algorithms based on ECC reduce substantially the performance gap between authentication using symmetric cryptography and pre-shared secret keys (faster, but with limited applications) and authentication using asymmetric cryptography and public-key certificates. They also show a substantial performance degradation from 128-bit to 192-bit or 256-bit security, so the security level should be adjusted according to application requirements.

JAKE uses the standard library of cryptographic classes included in OpenJDK. The experiments were carried out for different cryptographic algorithms and security levels. The comparative analysis demonstrates the important performance gains achieved by switching from Finite-Field Cryptography (FFC) to Elliptic-Curve Cryptography (ECC), for Diffie-Hellman (DH) key agreement, signatures, and public-key certificates. The algorithms based on ECC reduce substantially the performance gap between authentication using symmetric cryptography and pre-shared secret keys (faster, but with limited applications) and authentication using asymmetric cryptography and public-key certificates. The implementation of network overlays, such as Virtual eXtensible Local Area Network (VXLAN) as the data plane and Border Gateway Protocol/Ethernet VPN (BGP/EVPN) as the control plane for virtual network distribution[5], plays an important role in the integration of VXLAN BGP EVPN technologies in modern Data Centers, allowing a better flow control over the network. With this regard, the enhancement of dedicated networks, and, furthermore, of switching and routing capabilities has been achieved, thereby reducing the costs of device-by-device implementation and management towards a more centralized, integrated system. This paper presents the new network architecture, along with its related protocols, not only for control plane, but also for data plane, demonstrating the need to replace the traditional network architectures and protocols, such as Spanning Tree Protocol and vPC.

Assessment of RF interference mitigation methods for automotive radars using real data 使用真实数据评估汽车雷达射频干扰缓解方法

The increased use of autonomous vehicles on the roads leads to the appearance of mutual interference between the radars, a fact that determines a growing number of the proposed RFI mitigation and avoidance algorithms. This paper analyzes the performance of state-of-the-art interference mitigation al-gorithms for FMCW chirp sequences using a set of real data acquired with a DCA1000 evaluation module and two AWR1843 Single-Chip 77- to 79-GHz FMCW Radar Sensors manufactured by Texas Instruments (one sensor is used like interferer source and the second one is used like victim radar) for scenarios with different type of interferences (correlated and uncorrelated) and different power levels of the interference signals.
