Numerical analysis on wavelength-switchable lasers with inhomogeneous and homogeneous line broadening media 非均匀和均匀增宽介质波长可切换激光器的数值分析

An improved simulation model of switchable dual-wavelength laser has been proposed, with which the different stabilization behaviors with dual-wavelength lasers based on inhomogeneous and homogeneous active media has been analyzed. The numerical results can well explain these actual switching behaviors of a dual-wavelength fiber switchable laser.
提出了一种改进的可切换双波长激光器仿真模型,分析了基于非均匀和均匀有源介质的双波长激光器的不同稳定化行为。数值结果可以很好地解释双波长光纤可切换激光器的实际开关行为。

Self-assembled InAs/GaAs quantum dot molecules with InxGa1−xAs strain-reducing layer 具有InxGa1−xAs应变还原层的自组装InAs/GaAs量子点分子

Self-assembled lateral InAs quantum dot molecules (QDMs) with InxGa1−xAs strain-reducing layer are grown by metal-organic chemical vapor deposition. A redshift of emission wavelength and wideband photoluminescence spectra of QDMs are observed, which make QDM a potential candidate for broadband optical devices.

Due to the linear birefringence, the fibre length, input SOP and birefringence values have influence on the polarization properties of FBG. The relationship between the first stokes parameter and polarization dependent loss is discussed. Simulations are realized based on coupled mode theory.

Multi-longitudinal mode fiber laser sensor combining the fiber bragg grating reflector 结合光纤光栅反射器的多纵模光纤激光传感器

A multi-longitudinal-mode fiber laser sensor is proposed and experimentally demonstrated base on beat frequency demodulation. A novel laser cavity is formed only by a FBG, one section of erbium-doped fiber and a broadband reflector. The proposed laser sensor has ultra-stable beat signal due to self-phase matching in the laser cavity.

Energy efficiency of high-performance network elements can be improved through using low-power-consuming technologies such as high-speed optical transmission and signal processing as well as by developing and applying novel network concepts optimized for both energy and performance. This paper briefly discusses potentials and options for achieving highly energy-efficient network elements.

In this study, for increasing absorption of the active layer in bulk heterojunction (BHJ) organic solar cells (OSCs), we used surface Plasmon effect. For illustrating the results the model for proposed structure with Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) numerical method is investigated and optical properties are extracted.

A programmable semiconductor pulse seed laser, with a maximum peak current of 20A, repetition frequency from 10Hz to 1MHz and pulse width from 16ns to 1µs, was designed and implemented for MOPA pulsed fiber laser. The repetition frequency and pulse width can be continuously adjusted via DDS technique in FPGA.

Towards high-performance injectorless quantum cascade lasers in the mid infrared 迈向中红外高性能无注入器量子级联激光器

Lately injectorless quantum cascade lasers are getting more and more into focus of research, as they promise lower threshold current densities and higher output powers and efficiencies. Although the research on them started seven years later in 2001 and was less intensive, they have achieved much lower threshold current densities with 0.45 kA/cm2 at 300 K compared to injectorbased devices. Additionally injectorless devices reached efficiencies and output powers in the important wavelength range between 8 and 12 µm comparable to best performing injectorbased devices. With 2 W per facet and an overall efficiency of 7 % around 9 µm, they show a strong potential regarding possible applications.
