Results Among 165 patients(55women)enrolled, 25 patients(15%)were diagnosed to have diastolic dysfunction. Although diastolic dysfunction tended to be more prevalent among those with lower XOR activity tertiles (P= 0.071), logistic regression analysis showed that the highest UA tertile, but not the lowest XOR activity tertile, was associated with diastolic dysfunction after adjustment for age, gender, log (eGFR), and uric acid, although the highest UA tertile was significantly associated with diastolic dysfunction. When analysis was performed in an each genderseparated manner plasma XOR activity was not significantly associated with diastolic dysfunction.
