The recent confluence of major thrusts, such as 5G/6G, satellite communications, automated driving, human behavior recognition, and space applications, has triggered widespread research and development activities at the millimeter-wave (mm-wave) and terahertz (THz) frequency spectrums. Many of these applications require new approaches in the wireless architecture, oftentimes requiring new strategies and topologies for corresponding antennas. Naturally, the current landscape has increasingly rendered conventional antenna measurement techniques and infrastructures insufficient for addressing future mm-wave and THz antenna measurement objectives. The aim of this special issue is to solicit and assemble the latest studies that highlight current research involving mm-wave and THz antenna measurements as well as provide discussion about measurement challenges.

That’s why we are proud to offer you a shining special issue this bimester: “Latest Developments of Millimeter-Wave and Terahertz Antenna Measurements for 5G/6G and Satellite Applications.” I am particularly grateful to Prof. Wonbin Hong, Prof. Sungtek Kah, and Prof. Xiu Yin Zha for guest editing it and collecting such a great roster of excellent articles. Diversity of thought is essential for innovation. Organizations are increasingly focusing on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in their workplaces since DEI leads to significant tangible benefits and positive outcomes. In this article I would like to highlight why a commitment to DEI is so important for organizations, especially companies of all sizes. I also present some examples that define the business case for implementing DEI and discuss some of the ways in which industry can create a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace culture.
