Several real-world applications generate data streams where the opportunity to examine each instance is concise. Effective classification of such data streams is an emerging issue in data mining. However, such classification can cause severe threats to privacy. There are several applications like credit card fraud detection, disease outbreak or biological attack detection, loan approval, etc. where the data is homogeneously distributed among different parties. These parties may wish to collaboratively build a classifier to obtain certain global patterns but will be reluctant to disclose their private data. Privacy-preserving classification of such homogeneously distributed data is a challenging issue too. In this paper, we present a brief review of the work carried out in data stream classification and privacy-preserving classification of homogeneously distributed data; followed by an empirical evaluation and performance comparison of some methods in both these areas. We also propose and evaluate an approach of creating an ensemble of anonymous decision trees to classify homogeneously distributed data in a privacy-preserving manner. We further identify the need to develop efficient methods for privacy-preserving classification of homogeneously distributed data streams and propose a suitable approach for the same.

Education in India in 21st century demands innovations in the evaluation methods with the emergence of Outcome Based Education (OBE). Lots of Research is already done in innovations in teaching and learning methods, but very few literatures on the innovations in evaluations are available. The paper discusses various innovative methods for the evaluation of students. The pros and cones of traditional exam and the new methods are also discussed. A survey on the various method is carried out and the results of the same are also presented.

Extraction of information from an image acquired by real imaging systems is a difficult task, since the observed image may be degraded by blurring. In this paper, a framework for classification of blur in an image is presented and a technique for classification of blur using invariants is proposed. In this method, the blur classification is carried out without estimating the blurring function. The proposed technique is applied on a large dataset of images degraded by motion blur, Gaussian blur and defocus blur. The simulation results show that the proposed method gives accurate classification of the blur present in an image.

The main motive of this paper is to implement, analyze and compare few standard closed loops PID tuning methods and to develop auto tuning for single board heater system (SBHS) using relay feedback method. For system identification, step test method is used to find out system parameters. Widely accepted PID controller is used to control the temperature of the system with the PID controller parameter values obtained from Zeigler Nichol's tuning method. Better to this conventional ZN, Relay Feedback tuning based PID controller is used, whose main idea was proposed by Amstrom-Hagglund in 1984. This paper also includes implementation of LQR(linear quadratic regulator) controller over linear system i.e. SBHS to reject disturbances with set point tracking, number of analysis and results has been taken for both LQR and PID controller.

This paper presents investigation on electromagnetic repulsion force of contact system for enhancement in repulsion threshold current in MCCB. Current flows on moving contact and fixed contact are repulsive in nature due to structure of contact system. Due to current concentration between electrical contacts and between two conductors, magnetic flux density produces electromagnetic repulsion force. Electromagnetic repulsion force can improve current limiting ability through enhancement in repulsion threshold current of contact system is presented. For enhancing in repulsion threshold current of contact system, we calculate electromagnetic repulsion force and finite element analysis are adapted.

The work proposed embodies prediction of total transfer capability in a restructured power system using artificial neural network under normal and single line outage conditions. A suitable feed forward network with 14 hidden layer neurons is designed to predict transfer capability in a modified IEEE 14-bus test system. Line status, initial voltage magnitude at all the 14 buses and loading in buyer area are taken as input variables while total transfer capability is taken as output of neural network. A novel approach to introduce line stability index as one of the constraints along with voltage magnitude, reactive power limits and angular stability is presented in this work. Predicted results from artificial neural network (ANN) are compared with conventional repeated power flow method to determine relative error between the predicted and calculated results. Maximum relative error obtained is 1.698651% which is quite acceptable considering speed of prediction.

The motivation behind the work is that the prediction of web user's browsing behavior while serving the Internet, reduces the user's browsing access time and avoids the visit of unnecessary pages to ease network traffic. This research work introduces parallel Support Vector Machines for web page prediction. The web contains an enormous amount of data and web data increases exponentially, but the training time for Support vector machine is very large. That is, SVM's suffer from a widely recognized scalability problems in both memory requirements and computation time when the input dataset is too large. To address this, we aimed at training the Support vector machine model in MapReduce programming model of Hadoop framework, since the MapReduce programming model has the ability to rapidly process a large amount of data in parallel. MapReduce works in tandem with Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS). The so proposed approach will solve the scalability problem of present SVM algorithm. The performance of the proposed approach is evaluated in Amazon cloud EC2 using cloud-based Hadoop. Our experiments show the effectiveness in term of training time and also improve the preprocessing time. We find in our research study that a number of nodes increased the training time of proposed algorithm is decreased. We checked that parallelization of SMO has no more negative effect on the accuracy level, as compared to the standard approach.

Wireless sensor network (WSN) is a network of small, low power, resource constrained devices distributed in a large area. The principle focus of such network is to monitor some well-defined phenomenon in the sensor field. Availability of low power CMOS camera has offered wings to WSN applications. Broadening the range of applications from monitoring to multimedia surveillance. Multimedia transmission brings newer challenges primarily provisioning of the quality of service. Realtime video surveillance is one class of application which expects timely delivery of the packets. QoS aware routing protocols are required to cater to this demand. Geographic routing protocols are most suited WSN due to its scalability. GPSR, SPEED, and MMSPEED are the protocols which explore 1-hop neighborhood information in packet forwarding. Most of these protocols stations their routing decision on the location of sink and ignoring energy reserves of a node, which is crucial in each WSN application. A geographic routing protocol is proposed in this paper, which is energy aware. Also rather than sticking to maintaining 1-hop neighborhood information, it maintains n-hop neighborhood which helps early detection of void.

Teaching of mathematics in engineering quite often becomes the mere mechanical process. Students of engineering branches lost their interest of mathematics due to the same. In the present work points are given to make the mathematics teaching interesting in engineering by discussing the different conceptual ideas of the topics. The benefits of the learning with the insight of conceptual ideas of mathematics are also derived and attempt is made to encourage mathematics faculties to think ahead and work in the described direction.

While aircraft fuel systems are not regarded as one of the complex features of an aircraft, they are essential systems of all aircraft. Their role and functional characteristics play a critical aspect in the design, certification, operation of both military and commercial planes. Engine fuel consumption varies according to the aircraft mission. In this paper, a typical aircraft fuel system configuration is discussed and fuel transfer analysis i.e. simulation of aircraft fuel system performed on MSC EASY5 platform is presented. The results are verified by comparing with the engine requirements.
