Firms face a ceaseless dilemma of adaptation to their environments by embracing the right combination of exploration/exploitation strategies. Regarding this quandary’s long-term impact, we propose a novel theoretical model linking the pursuit of exploration and exploitation approaches and the likelihood of firm failure, stressing the crucial moderating role of the firm life cycle that substantively shapes the underlying relationships. The model is empirically tested using a large panel dataset from 1988 to 2019, clearly revealing the moderating impact of the five stages of the firm life cycle (and the transition phase between them) on the association between exploration and exploration and firm failure. The findings indicate that exploration has a significant negative impact on firm failure at the growth, maturity, and transition stage; however, it has a significant positive impact on firm failure at the introduction stage. Exploitation has a significant negative impact on firm failure at the maturity stage.

The purpose of this paper is to apply the multidimensional construct of two theories- the theory of consumption value and the information success model, to assess the buying behavior of fashion accessories to enhance the understanding of consumer behavior intentions and explain the formation of the intention to buy fashion accessories in online webpages. The study utilizes a deductive quantitative approach by collating the constructs from previous literature and designing a survey. The data is analyzed by employing factor and regression analysis. The results indicated that functional value, conditional value, and emotional value positively impact purchasing behavior toward fashion accessories from digital platforms.

Georgia is top of the list due to its tax restrictions on cryptocurrency mining activities. Furthermore, the overall costs of running a mining operation are substantially lower in Georgia. as Georgia takes place as the third biggest mining country in the world. The goal of this paper is to fill a deficiency in the existing literature that examines the present level of cryptocurrency acceptance, and adoption-influencing factors, offering an in-depth interpretation of these aspects and outlining certain problems associated with cryptocurrency adoption in Georgia. This study employs a quantitative approach, a total of 175 people did take part in the poll (out of 200 questionnaire respondents). The survey was held in a hybrid manner, with the questionnaire being distributed in April and May 2022 in various cryptocurrency-selling locations throughout Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. A structural equation model was applied in the paper (SEM). The findings of the study confirm that the measurement items and constructs in the proposed model are reliable and valid. The result of the study found that there is a positive relationship between future reward, innovativeness, knowledge, and cryptocurrency adoption. Furthermore, it was found that innovativeness is significant as a mediator between future rewards and cryptocurrency adoption.

The study examined the appraisal system and engagement as correlates of job effectiveness of academic staff. Two research questions and two hypotheses guided the study. A descriptive design of survey type was used. The population of this study comprised academic staff of Federal Colleges of Education, Lagos and Ogun States. The total population of the study is 637 lecturers. Simple random sampling technique was used in selecting a total of 300 lecturers from Federal Colleges of Education, Lagos State and Ogun State .Two researcher instruments tagged: Appraisal System Questionnaire (ASQ) and Engagement and Job Effectiveness Questionnaire (EJEQ) with 0.78 and 0.81 respectively were used for data collection. Regression analysis was used in answering and testing the research questions and hypotheses. The findings of the study revealed that there was significant joint contribution of the independent variables (appraisal system and engagement) on the dependent variable (job effectiveness of academic staff); R = 0.687, P< .05. About 44% of the variance in job effectiveness of academic staff was accounted for by the linear combination of the independent variables. The study recommended among others that appraisal system should provide accurate and relevant ratings of a lecturers’ job effectiveness as compared to pre-established criteria.

This study examines the impact of bank-specific and macroeconomic determinants on the profitability of commercial banks in Georgia, where banks tend to be the largest part of the financial system, with free market systems and liberalization policies similar to those in other transition economies, using panel data analysis and random forest method (RVI) is implemented as a robustness check. The profitability indicators return on asset (ROA), return on equity (ROE), and net interest margin (NIM), all of which have been extensively utilized as indicators of profitability in previous research, were employed. The research indicates that the three most significant bank-specific factors are net loans, nonperforming loans, and capital adequacy ratios. Other bank-specific factors such as asset size and liquidity ratio have statistically minor effects on bank profitability. The other macroeconomic determinant, inflation rate, has no effect on the profitability performance levels of the banks studied.

The study examined the impact of intellectual capital on the financial performance of quoted companies in Nigeria. The study employed twenty-five companies from five sectors of the economy. The ex-post facto research design was employed in the study, to aid the use of secondary data within 2015-2020 was soured from the financial statement of the companies. The dependent variable was measured using the sales and asset growth of the selected companies and the intellectual capital was measured using the human capital efficiency, structural capital efficiency, and relational capital efficiency. The findings revealed that structural, relational capital efficiency and value-added have a negative, positive and positive significant effect on sales and asset growth of the selected companies. It is therefore recommended that the organization should invest in the structural and relational capital efficiency in the organization because it has the intrinsic capacity to improve the level of performance in the organization.

This paper empirically investigates two sides of the COVID-19 vaccinations. The first part is a study of the vaccination efficacy and its impact on the number of new cases and new deaths, using the daily doses data of Eight different COVID-19 vaccination for a sample of 30 countries around the world. The second part is a study of the financial benefits for the same eight vaccines producers’ companies. The event study method is adopted in this research to explore the abnormal returns and its accumulations, the event date is January 30, 2020. The Vaccine’s efficacy results show that (Moderna, Oxford/Astrazeneca, and Novavax V) proved efficacy in reducing new cases and new deaths. Meanwhile, Cansino’s vaccine was effective in reducing the number of new cases only. On the other hand, vaccines like (Pfizer/ Biontech, Sinovac, Johnson & Johnson, and Sinopharm/ Beijing) didn’t prove efficacy in reducing the number of new cases and new deaths. The Financial benefits results show that the vaccine manufacturers who achieved the benefits of abnormal returns in the presence of vaccine efficacy are (Oxford/AstraZeneca and Novavax). While other manufacturers did not achieve the benefits of abnormal returns. The results also show that the pharmaceutical companies that achieved benefits on the cumulative abnormal returns in the presence of the vaccine efficacy are (Oxford/AstraZeneca, Novavax, Moderna, and CanSino). Meanwhile, the rest of manufacturers achieved cumulative abnormal returns but they are not effective in reducing the numbers of neither new cases nor new deaths.

Advergames represent a new advertising concept that uses internet technology to implement viral marketing campaigns. This study aimed to conduct a comparative analysis of and impact of advergames on cultural outcomes. This cross-cultural study investigated the impact of advergame on the cultural differences and similarities between the United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia. Participants from both Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom were invited to complete a questionnaire. The sample consisted of male and female participants from all age groups. According to the findings, most of the Saudi Arabian respondents responded neutrally to considering cultural values within advergames. By contrast, the majority of the United Kingdom participants agreed that they were indifferent to the culture projected by the advergame characters. The findings also confirm the implementation of better strategies for games that consider the different cultural aspects of different countries. Notably, these findings suggest that visual familiarity can influence consumer behavior across cultures. We expect our findings to be used in future research that examines cultural outcomes in advergames.

In 2015, the article ‘Polis University as a Lean Startup Innovation’ was published in this journal. The present article is a sequel, researching how the follow-up phase after the initial startup has evolved. The purpose of this article is to: i) review Polis University management since the startup phase in terms of lean, entrepreneurial management, and ambidexterity; and ii) examine strategic directions for the future of the university. The article explains Polis University’s management of new and existing business opportunities, and observes that, like so many other organizations, daily business management and incremental improvement tends to receive the most attention. Ambidexterity is organized both structurally through the establishment of an Innovation Factory, and contextually – expecting from staff that they continuously improve their work. Regarding the university’s strategic direction, we conclude that Polis University adheres to the aim of bearing relevance for society, identified by European Commission for the future of universities. Polis University was started with the mission to be relevant for society – not only through providing education and conducting research, but also through its envisioned positive impact on Albanian and Western Balkan development.
2015年在本刊发表文章《Polis University as a Lean Startup Innovation》。
