Equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) is a promising technique to produce an ultra-fine grain microstructure thus improving the properties of the material. Several factors have been acknowledged to have an affect on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the material after an ECAP process which include the operation temperature, number of passes, die angle and also the processing route. Therefore, this review paper gives a concise summary on the influence of ECAP parameters towards the microstructure and mechanical properties of magnesium alloys. Specific attention has been given to the magnesium alloy microstructure evolution and its mechanical properties after ECAP process. It was discovered that refined microstructure with better mechanical properties can be produced at lower temperature, higher number of passes and smaller die angle. It was also noticed that using route BC of ECAP process may give the best results by contributing about 28% of material hardness compared to the other routes.

This paper presents a methodology for obtaining the references for voltages and currents of power electronics (PE) devices. References are needed for deducing, in an appropriate way, the differential equations (DEs) that govern the behavior of PE devices. If references are used for deducing DEs, power and energy interchange can be explained; also, control strategies based on mathematical model can be easily implemented. PE devices are very diverse; so, the proposed methodology is explained by using a complex converter for considering many possibilities that may result. Basically, the passive law of sign is used; nonetheless, the application of this law is sometimes tricky. Finally, OpenModelica software is used for validating the proposed methodology.

Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) is a radio access technology that can increase the spectral efficiency of 5G networks. In a NOMA system, the power allocation is a combinatorial optimization problem since multiple users are multiplexed on the same radio resources. The power transmitted for each subchannel and the multiplexed users can be allocated by using metaheuristic methods to improve the system throughput. In this paper, ant colony optimization (ACO) is proposed to optimize the transmit power to maximize the overall throughput in the downlink of 5G NOMA systems. The ACO is one of the swarm intelligence algorithms that ensures that the optimal solution can be found via a number of iterations with specific values of parameters. The obtained results demonstrate that the proposed power allocation scheme using ACO performs better in terms of the system throughput by up to 35%.

In this article, the method to estimate the range to the beacon in passive search and rescue systems is proposed. The range to the beacon is determined by applying a set of Kalman filters to the bearing measurements with different hypotheses of the beacon motion and subsequent selection of the hypothesis with the minimum sum of residual errors in target range estimation. The expressions for the expectation and standard deviation of the prediction errors are derived and the probability of selection the correct hypothesis is given. The proposed method allows to evaluate the measurement time, required to determine the range to the beacon with probability 0.9...0.95, which agrees well with statistical analysis of multiple data sets.

The work solves the problem of automating the process planning of assigning geological and technical measures (GTM) at oil fields in conditions of uncertainty. A decision support system is being developed to help an expert make an informed decision about the method of influence of geological and technical measures on an oil reservoir. From the point of view of the imposed restrictions on the choice of geological and technical measures, various types of geological and physical parameters are highlighted. To solve this problem, a fuzzy-production model is proposed for the representation of expert knowledge. A feature of this model is the possibility of different types of parameters use to impose restrictions on the choice of geological and technical measures, using fuzzy restrictions and setting their weights, as well as formalizing the degree of an expert confidence in the reliability of the rule being formed. They provided the possibility of fuzzy modifier use in the conditions of fuzzy production rules for fuzzy constraint correction. To determine the weights of fuzzy constraints in the conditions of the rules, an approach is used based on a multi-criteria assessment of constraints, carried out using the hierarchy analysis method (HAM). The following were used as the criteria for evaluation the weights: the importance of the corresponding geological and physical parameter for an expert, the completeness of the available information on the studied parameter, the relevance of the values, the complexity of obtaining the values. The final choice of geological and technical measures is carried out on the basis of a fuzzy multi-criteria choice according to the following criteria: satisfaction of the fuzzy production model limitations, high technological efficiency, high economic effect, and the impact on the environment. Based on the knowledge of experts, a knowledge base has been formed that includes fuzzy production rules for choosing 81 different geological and technical measures at production wells using the restrictions on 15 geological and physical parameters. The knowledge base has been tested at the wells of the Feofanovskoye field, Alkeevskaya, Chishminskaya areas. The development of recommendations was carried out in conditions of information incompleteness on a number of parameters of the set. The results generated by the decision support system correspond to the decisions made by the experts. In this article, we solve the actual problem of recognizing the object group in the image. The solution to this problem resulted in an application developed on the basis of a neural network for automatic object recognition. We considered the problem of recognition of cars and trucks on images of any size. The developed application creates a neural network, allows it being trained, as well as using the trained network to solve the recognition problem. In this work, we created a convolutional neural network that allows detecting the features of cars under consideration and classifying them. The network architecture was selected in such a way that the result of its work was adequate. When selecting, we considered feed-forward neural networks, since they showed themselves in the best way in solving such problems. To select the structure and build this network, we studied the corresponding theoretical material about the main types of neural networks, as well as about the algorithms for their training. To train this network, we used an error backpropagation algorithm based on the gradient descent method when finding the minimum of the activation function. An important point is tracking of the network training results; to calculate the accuracy and error indicators (in time), the developed application creates the corresponding graphs. To recognize cars on an arbitrary image, it was divided into admissible parts, and then the image was transmitted in parts to the trained network. The network operation result is displayed using the graphical interface of the application. The objects "passenger car" and "truck" are localized and assigned to the corresponding class.

An increase in the efficiency of a technological process for the production of mayonnaise products by means of remote information access is considered. The scheme of information flows in the software and hardware complex for interaction between equipment assemblies and mechanisms and software has been developed. The dispatcher's software interface has been developed for real time monitoring the technological process of manufacturing mayonnaise products. Software modules for tracking failures and malfunctions, including user settings for an automated homogenizing vacuum machine are developed. A recipe editing module has been developed in the program for making mayonnaise products. A remote system of operator's access to work and restriction of rights to control functions, setting the modes of a homogenizing vacuum machine by means of user authorization has been developed. An automated system for alerting of emergency and warning situations by means of messages and sound signals has been developed. It is proposed to store in a relational database current and retrospective messages, and indications of process parameters for the production of mayonnaise products. A system of trends for real time monitoring and analysing the dynamics of changes in process parameters is proposed. It is proposed to record the data on the varieties produced and the number of production cycles, the reasons for downtime, equipment failures and malfunctions in the daily reporting system.

One of the obvious drawbacks of online education service is the inability to control the students in solving tasks themselves. This leads to mass cheats and, as a result, to the devaluation of issued certificates. The article offers some technical tool which can partially reduce the damage from this phenomenon in online education. The originality of the proposed technical tool lies in the interaction of two well-known educational procedures: 1) peer cross-reviews and 2) creating a portfolio. The article discusses the details of this proposal for possible implementation.
