Leveraging Trust as an Intermediary Construct for Enhancing Public Acceptance of Smart Government Model 以信任为中介构建提升公众对智慧政府模式的接受度

The primary aim of this study was to formulate a trust model aimed at augmenting public acceptance of UAE's smart government services. The study identified a total of 31 factors categorized into seven distinct groups or constructs. The model comprises five independent constructs which are Word of Mouth, Knowledge and Experience, IT Quality, Privacy, and Security. Then, Trust as an intermediary construct while Acceptance as a dependent construct. Through a convenience sampling approach, data was collected from 400 respondents via a questionnaire survey. The data collected was utilized to create and refine the model using SmartPLS software. The model underwent thorough analysis, including assessments of convergent reliability and validity, discriminant validity, and hypothesis testing. The study results revealed the significance of all six hypotheses, indicating the noteworthy impact of the five independent constructs on the intermediary construct (Trust), which in turn significantly influences the dependent construct (Acceptance). In terms of its contribution to existing knowledge, this study significantly enriches the literature on citizen-centric models and smart government. Moreover, in practical terms, the findings provide valuable insights for policy makers and smart government officials to strategically optimize approaches, thereby facilitating the expedited and more effective adoption of smart government services.

An Effectiveness of Group Model Coaching for Improving Life Balance Among Youth 团体模式辅导对改善青少年生活平衡的效果

Life imbalanced amongst youth regarding moral, behaviour and personality problems have been discussed in many studies. However, not many of these research articles discussed on effective interventions process to improve the imbalance especially on youth life. Hence, this study offers a methodology on conducting an effectiveness intervention to improvise youth life-balance. A group of 90 youths were selected from a secondary school to participate the intervention process based on their low academic performance. First phase of the intervention was to investigate the imbalanced elements using a modified Wheel of Life which consisted of 8 elements with 10-points scale. During the investigation session, youth are required to shed the modified Wheel of Life based on individual perspective. The coach analysed all the 90 shaded Wheel of Life and found that personality and discipline element has the lowest score. Then, only 9 youth that having lowest score in this element are grouped and proceed to second phase which is called coaching session. In this session, the youth have undergone 5 interaction sessions where the first session is known as ice breaking activity then followed by another 4 interactions coaching sessions using GROUP model approach. The purpose of ice breaking session was to gain rapport amongst youth. Then during the GROUP model coaching session, a pre and post coaching forms were prepared and filled by the youth to gauge their life balance status. These GROUP model coaching sessions continued until the fourth session. Then, the pre and post coaching forms were analysed to quantify the impact of the coaching sessions on the youth personality and discipline element. For the last phase, the results of these coaching sessions were validated through the interview session with the teachers and parents of the youth. It was found that the average effectiveness percentage of the GROUP model coaching is 72.95%. It is hope that this study contributes new knowledge on intervention process to improvise youth life balance.

Developing A Multi-Linear Regression Model of Knowledge Management Factors Influencing Collaborative Projects in the Aviation Industry 航空工业协同项目知识管理影响因素的多元线性回归模型

Effective knowledge management is emphasized as crucial in drafting strategic plans and initiating collaborative projects in the UAE aviation industry. The low awareness of knowledge management in the industry underscores the need to integrate it into collaborative projects for improved management operations and long-term growth in the global aviation market amid fierce competition and evolving technology trends. Hence, this study was carried out to formulate a multi linear regression model of knowledge management factors affecting the collaborative project for UAE aviation industry. A questionnaire survey was conducted among the respondents who associated with the aviation industry in UAE. A total of 373 sets of data was used to formulate the equation using SPSS software. It was found that the generated model has a strong correlation coefficient of 0.898 between the predictors and dependent variable. Also, strong coefficient of determination of 0,806 which indicates how well the selected independent variables collectively account for the variation in the dependent variables/predicators. This equation model can be applied to collaborative project in UAE aviation industry. This research contributes to the body of knowledge and to the aviation society.

Dynamism of Building Standards & Designs to Private Developers Towards Urban Poor Low-Cost Resettlement Quality of Life: A Review Comparison in Malaysia & Singapore 建筑标准的动态性研究面向城市贫民低成本安置生活质量的私人开发商设计&以马来西亚为例新加坡

Malaysia's government adopted many resettlement initiatives and housing policies to eliminate the growing number of informal settlement as well as meet the housing demands and improvement in the quality homes in order to achieve its aim of being a civilized country by 2020. Critical number of studies has been carried to investigate the low-cost dwelling in city centre effect to quality of life of occupants. However, there lack of study comparisons in terms of design and building standards structured being made to our neighbouring country Singapore which more developed in its city planning and shared the same climatic condition as Malaysia. Therefore, this paper aim to investigate the impact of the both dynamism building design and standard for the private developers concerns with regards to low-cost urban settlement. This paper explores the methodology through secondary type of data by articles, guidelines and researches involved with architectural design modifications and intervention programs establishment offered by both countries. This paper then discussed on Malaysian resettlement policy programmes intervention criteria and its nature in interior thermal comfort condition, improper layout plan, exterior design scheme and public amenities provision practiced in improving quality of life of the urban poor resettlements. As the outcome of these findings, this research suggest that Malaysia still have possibilities that could be improved for these dwellings through imposing stringent protocols on building plan, certificate, permit, licences and other documentation by local authorities for each states and Commissioner of Building for the private developers to ensure the upgraded consistency level urban settlements is being maintained.

Cybersecurity Vulnerabilities in Smart Grids with Solar Photovoltaic: A Threat Modelling and Risk Assessment Approach 太阳能光伏智能电网的网络安全漏洞:威胁建模和风险评估方法

Cybersecurity is a growing concern for smart grids, especially with the integration of solar photovoltaics (PVs). With the installation of more solar and the advancement of inverters, utilities are provided with real-time solar power generation and other information through various tools. However, these tools must be properly secured to prevent the grid from becoming more vulnerable to cyber-attacks. This study proposes a threat modeling and risk assessment approach tailored to smart grids incorporating solar PV systems. The approach involves identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks through threat modeling and risk assessment. A threat model is designed by adapting and applying general threat modeling steps to the context of smart grids with solar PV. The process involves the identification of device assets and access points within the smart grid infrastructure. Subsequently, the threats to these devices were classified utilizing the STRIDE model. To further prioritize the identified threat, the DREAD threat-risk ranking model is employed. The threat modeling stage reveals several high-risk threats to the smart grid infrastructure, including Information Disclosure, Elevation of Privilege, and Tampering. Targeted recommendations in the form of mitigation controls are formulated to secure the smart grid’s posture against these identified threats. The risk ratings provided in this study offer valuable insights into the cybersecurity risks associated with smart grids incorporating solar PV systems, while also providing practical guidance for risk mitigation. Tailored mitigation strategies are proposed to address these vulnerabilities. By taking proactive measures, energy sector stakeholders may strengthen the security of their smart grid infrastructure and protect critical operations from potential cyber threats.

Management of demographic records plays a vital role in understanding and planning for the needs of community living. However, managing conventional records requires more time, cost, and energy without accurate assurance. As there are raising concerns in assessing community information for charity purposes, safety coordination, and crime prevention, especially during emergencies; integrating demographic data with spatial information is becoming significantly important. This paper aims to establish an accessible and visible digital platform of demographic information for respective sectors, namely, the KRT, Qariah group, NGOs, and representatives of CSR projects. The objective is to digitize interactive demographic record management and mapping through GIS-based technology. This study adopts a Geographical Information System (GIS) to digitize information using web GIS integrating with the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) technology for data acquisition in the community sampling areas; Puncak Iskandar. The proposed system which leverages the power of spatial analysis and visualization, utilizes GIS technology to store, analyse, and visualize demographic records in a geographical context. It incorporates various demographic data sources, such as census data, health records, and administrative data in managing more efficient and effective data with lower cost, energy, time, and resources. Furthermore, the GIS-based system enables the identification of spatial disparities, inequalities, and interventions in demographic characteristics. Therefore, the integration of this system into community demographic management has provided a powerful platform for accessing and coordinating population dynamics, problem-solving, and sustainable development. The implementation in Puncak Iskandar enhances the accessibility, and visualization of demographic data, enabling policy-makers, researchers, and planners to make informed decisions based on a geographical perspective. The findings demonstrate the reliability of GIS-based demographic record management in a community living towards supporting evidence-based planning, resource allocation, and policy formulation for a wide range of applications, including urban planning, public health, and social services towards a sustainable future.

This study examines the use of waste fire clay brick as a filler in compressed earth brick production. The purpose of this study is to determine the compressive strength and water absorption of the compressed earth brick incorporation with waste fire clay brick as a filler. The optimum amount of waste fire clay to utilize as a filler is also being studied. A total of 72 compressed earth bricks were produced with the brick size of 125 mm x 250 mm x 100 mm which consist of a mix of sand, soil and cement with mix proportion of 1:4:4. A few tests were conducted which are compressive strength test and water absorption test. The waste fire clay bricks were utilized in this study and replace by volume fraction percentage of 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% and 50% while 0% is set as the control. The findings obtained show that the compressive strength of the bricks was increasing. The percentage of water absorption were decreasing along with the increases of percentage of waste fire clay brick as a filler.

Office Building Rental Prediction Model Based on Locational Determinants 基于区位决定因素的写字楼租金预测模型

The importance of locational determinants in determining rental rates in the office market has long been acknowledged and unquestionably become the significant factor for assessing the rental potential of various property types. Nevertheless, the rapid progressing research that discovers the effect of locational determinants on the rental, limited study that was deeply looked into the provision of location to the rental mainly in Malaysia cases. Thus, this study aims to develop a predictive model for office building rentals based on a comprehensive analysis of locational determinants. To achieve the aims of this study, the objectives was outline which are to identify the determinant factors of location and to analyse the significant determinant factors. Through the application of machine learning, this study captured the intricate connections between rentals and different location-related factors. By leveraging advanced algorithms which are decision trees, random forests, support vector machines and gradient boosted trees, the model can effectively handle diverse datasets, encompassing variables such as proximity to central business districts, access to public transport network, neighbourhood and amenities, and traffic condition. Through rigorous data collection and pre-processing, this study constructs a robust dataset comprising historical rental dataset collected in the city area of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia acquired from Property Services Department (JPPH) were used to train and validate the predictive model via R-squared performance metrics. The results indicate that proximity to Central Business District (CBD) emerges as a significant determinant with the most contribution to the model’s prediction, with offices located in close proximity commanding higher rentals. This study provides valuable insights into the prediction of office building rentals based on locational determinants, offering a practical tool for stakeholders in the real estate industry.

Palm oil is acknowledged as one of the commodities contributing to Malaysia's economic development, specifically as a strategy to eradicate poverty in rural areas. Despite the significant development of the industry, several issues, especially involving palm oil smallholders, require further development. Therefore, this study uses a qualitative research approach to explore adopting a multinational company's inclusive business model (IBM) as a strategy to enhance the industry and the well-being of society specifically palm oil smallholders in Johor. Based on secondary data and interviews, this study discovered that the company is motivated to adopt IBM in the project to ensure the sustainability of raw materials and as one of the company's corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities. The adoption of IBM will also benefit the company, the palm oil smallholders, and the palm oil industry, especially in Johor. Nevertheless, to ensure the sustainability of IBM, a few challenges need to be addressed particularly the complexity of the industry that involves many key players. In conclusion, IBM is able to create value for all stakeholders involve by integrating them in the whole value chain of palm oil industry.

Compressive Strength and Water Absorption of Sand Cement Brick that Incorporated with Construction Tiles Waste 掺加建筑瓦片废料的砂水泥砖抗压强度与吸水率

Ceramic Tiles Waste (CTW) is one of the major sources of construction and demolition (C&D). Recycling the C&D waste is one of the most effective ways to develop sustainable building elements. In this study, the CTW were used as a partial sand replacement in sand cement brick. The percentages replacement of CTW are 0%, 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% and 50% by mass of the sand with mix design ratio of 1:3 and 0.6 water cement ratio. All the bricks were curing up to 90 days. The density, compressive strength and water absorption of sand cement bricks were also determined for its mechanical and durability performance. The experimental results reveal that the optimum replacement of CTW in sand cement brick is in range of 10% to 40% that give a good performance in compressive strength. The compressive strength of sand cement bricks increases in range of 10.17% up to 30.82% for each stage of curing days from 7 days up to 90 days. Meanwhile, the percentage of water absorption of sand cement bricks at 28 days up to 90 days of curing are below 12% as per stated in ASTM C90.
