In this paper we present a Wireless Sensor Network for professional applications and two examples for measurements in infrastructure applications, including ground vibration monitoring and pile driving, and one M2M application for measuring deformations in train wheels. There are two different types of sensor nodes designed to fill the requirements of the applications: one with a microcontroller and radio, and another with a microcontroller combined with an FPGA chip to provide efficient parallel computation. Two of the sensor network applications have been tested in an actual working environment to prove the applicability to a real system. The results are very promising and the developed technology can be applied to other applications where heavy computation and high-frequency measurement is required.

Nowadays, companies are monitoring their employee's behavior using the DLP (Data Loss Prevention) solution to protect their information assets from internal attackers. During the monitoring the behaviors of employees, it is inevitable disclosing the private information to recognize the violation of internal regulation about handling of companies critical information. Actually there is trade-off relationship between privacy protection and data loss protection in company's information management. The trade-off relationship implies that there may be privacy violation if we are trying to prevent the internal information leakage strictly. In this paper, we are suggesting a data loss prevention method considering the privacy violation level. Especially, we are considering a method of quantifying the degree of privacy violation based on the data units which are exposed when the employee's data handling is monitored. At the same time, we are suggesting a method of quantifying the degree of importance of data units which are monitored.

In this paper, multi-user multi-input multi-output (MIMO) precoding in the ad hoc networks is presented. The ad hoc channel model is considered and the leakage based concept extended centralized systems to distributed networks. The conventional scheme simply use own inverse channel matrices and can be suffered a noise enhancement problem. This paper presents that the leakage based precoding provides also strong performance in the ad hoc networks. It is proven using the achievable sum rate simulations.

With open market platform for media services or applications, 3rd party service providers can register and provide their own services. Under such an environment, developing solid IP media QoS/QoE measurement system and providing measurement results to 3rd party service providers are required. In this paper, we present IP media QoS/QoE measurement system we developed and open interface technology of the system for 3rd party service providers. With the system, 3rd party IPTV service providers or IPTV service subscribers can monitor their service quality without any expensive measurement system. Network providers can achieve user perceived end-to-end quality assurance.

We propose the multiple-antenna RF beamforming scheme. The proposed scheme adopts the phase shifters and gain controllers in RF domain to compensate the wireless fading channels which is usually operated on the digital domain in the conventional beamforming scheme. Accordingly, the proposed scheme can have only single analog-to-digital/digital-to-analog (ADC/DAC) since the signals from multiple antennas are beamformed in the RF domain. Also, we propose the codebook search algorithm based on the codebook switching for the channel estimation and apply it to the phase shifter and the gain controller for the beamforming in the RF domain. Based on the analysis of output SNR of the proposed scheme and the simulations we show that the deterioration of BER performance compared to the optimal baseband beamforming techniques in MIMO-MRC [2] is not significant, while the power consumption is much reduced and the requirement of the digital hardware for baseband MODEM is much relaxed owing to the single ADC/DAC both at the transmitter and the receiver.

Recently, coordinated multiple point transmission/reception (CoMP) is proposed to overcome the performance degradation due to the inter-cell interference (ICI) in a multi-cell environment. In this paper, we present a multiuser MIMO-BC technique with limited feedback, and propose the novel codebook for cooperative beamforming to reduce the ICI. Based on the proposed codebook, an orthogonal beamforming is performed, which can support NB - η users simultaneously. The residual η degrees of freedom is used for the ICI mitigation. The numerical results show that the orthogonal beamforming based on the proposed codebook can obtain the η degrees of freedom efficiently without any loss of performance.

As the importance of non-functional requirements has increased, many researchers have become interested in software development process for non-functional requirements including the notation, modeling, and assessment of non-functional requirements. However, the characteristics of non-functional requirements are so sophisticated that there have been many topics that should be defined more clearly. In order to address one of the challenging topics, we propose a systematic software development process to support the management of nonfunctional requirements. The process consists of six steps, each of which is composed of detailed activities. Using the proposed process, the non-functional requirements can be more effectively and systematically managed and modeled.

Introduce adaptive bit loading technique into orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system can highly improve system performance in frequency selective fading channel. However, similar with ordinary OFDM system, this system is very sensitive to carrier frequency offset (CFO) and phase noise. When CFO and phase noise exist, common phase error (CPE) as well as inter carrier interference (ICI) will be generated to disturb the received signal and system performance will be seriously degraded. In this paper, we analyze the interferences caused by CFO and phase noise in adaptive bit loading OFDM system when the channel condition is frequency selective fading channel. Then the suppression method based on block type pilots is introduced to overcome the interferences simultaneously. From the simulation results, it can be seen that CFO and phase noise will cause serious system performance degradation. But after we perform the suppression processing, system performance can be significantly improved.

In this paper, we consider resource allocation in femtocell networks to maximize the throughput while minimizing interference to macro-cell users nearby. This can be achieved by dynamically allocating the spectrum resource in a cognitive radio way of avoiding the use of spectrum resources occupied by macro-users nearby. The proposed scheme comprises two steps; channel sensing and resource scheduling. The femto base station detects the channel occupation by estimating the energy in sub-channels in a group-wise manner and then allocates sub-channels with the lowest interference signature to femto-users. The proposed resource scheduling combined with channel sensing can effectively manage the heterogeneous interference problem. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed scheme is verified by computer simulation.

As the number of mobile devices accessing large-scale WLANs such as campus and metropolitan area networks increases, the need for load balancing among the cells becomes crucial. In addition, the network must also support some minimum handoff tolerance defined by an application. This paper proposes a new metric that provides load balance as well as timely handoffs for WLANs by taking into account both direct and hidden node collisions.
