In this paper we propose a throughput performance model for IEEE 802.11 wireless network with network coding. Specifically, we consider IEEE DEC protocol and linear topology in which traffic sources are located at both ends and intermediate nodes act as relays with a coding rule. Numerical results show that our analytic model is sufficiently accurate and can be utilized in design of IEEE 802.11 wireless networks with network coding.

In the next generation mobile communication systems, high speed data services are expected. However, an unacceptably high transmit power is required. Multi-hop technique can solve this problem. To reduce the transmit power, while increasing the transmission data rate, we have proposed a wireless multi-hop virtual cellular network (VCN). In this paper, we introduce the multi-hop VCN for high speed wireless network and discuss the channel capacity performance of the multi-hop VCN.

Pseudolite system is good alternative for indoor navigation in where GPS signal can not reach. There are two types of pseudolite system. The one is synchronous system and the other is asynchronous system. For the asynchronous system, user requires RF link to be provided augmentation data for timing and reference station for monitoring timing offsets of pseudolites. For the synchronous system, User does not require RF link for augmentation data but it still need reference station for monitoring timing offsets of pseudolites and the reference station need RF link with pseudolites for providing timing offset information for synchronizing slave pseudolites with master pseudolite. A synchronous pseudolite system with single clock which can cut down cost for the pseudolite system is presented in this paper. Also we will present configuration, operation concept, and preliminary simulation result for it.

As SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) has been adapted as a main session control protocols for major SDOs, the volume of internet telephony has been increased remarkably. Furthermore, the need of VoIP has been extended to the mobile internet. There are three major smartphone OS; iOS, Android, Windows Mobile. Hence, it is required to implement SIP-based internet telephony applications to each smartphone OS. This paper presents an experiences on implmenting SIP-based mVoIP applications for multiple smartphone OS such as iOS, Android, Windows Mobile.

Advances in hardware development enable the creation of tiny and inexpensive sensor network devices which are widely disseminated in our daily life, and take a significant role in developing ubiquitous sensor networks (USNs). As the architecture of the sensor networks becomes to rely on the applications more heavily, we believe that it is considerably important to come up with USN middleware which provides functions common to different types of USN applications and services. In this paper, we analyze the USN middleware architecture and three USN service use cases described in the ITU-T F.744 recommendation, and suggest the fundamental functions and interfaces for the ITU-T USN middleware components.1

With the advent of higher bandwidth internet services, video over IP is becoming more common with the video transfer mechanisms currently being standardized by the Open IPTV Forum. IPTV in the home is starting to dominate the market and is set to replace the way we watch our media content from watching it when broadcast to watching it on demand. Existing home gateway solutions or access points can allocate bandwidth to users depending on traffic priority or on a first come first served basis. This however might not be an optimal choice of allocation since it does not take into account user privileges and user perceived quality. This paper proposes a Cognitive Resource Manager, which takes into account these factors for managing the resources in the home. The paper suggests methods for learning user preferences by employing simple machine learning techniques and defines a user satisfaction utility, then optimizes it, choosing the optimal configuration for resource allocation. The paper also proposes a more lightweight heuristic approach which approximates the optimal configuration for resource allocation at a lower computational cost. This method of resource allocation compares favorably to a number of alternative strategies with respect to fairness.

In this paper, we introduce standardization activities for satellite component of IMT-Advanced systems which will play an important role, especially in providing multimedia broadcasting and multi-casting services due to its inherent characteristics. Recently, new satellite radio interfaces are being developed which have high commonality between terrestrial radio interfaces. This paper introduces the basic concept and architecture of the satellite IMT-Advanced system, and discusses the related standardization activities.

This paper proposes a reference vector selection diversity method of subspace interference alignment systems to obtain higher sum rate capacity. The proposed method calculates sum-rate capacities and selects the best reference vector to increase the total sum rate. Simulation result shows that the proposed method increases the sum-rate compared with a previous method.
