Cycloconverter Based Three Phase Induction Motor to Replace Flywheel of the Process Machine 基于循环变换器的三相感应电机替代加工机飞轮

This paper details with the logic of developing an appropriate drive to eliminate flywheel of the process machine including provision for variation in load. This is achieved by using three phase cycloconverter based variable voltage variable frequency (VWF) drive. To realize this, a demand torque characteristic of a specific process machine is studied. The cycle duration of demand torque characteristics is divided into suitable number of time intervals. The subdivisions of time intervals in form of frequencies are tabulated to simplify design procedure. Change in frequency on particular subdivision results in demand torque of the induction motor. To meet this new frequency and voltage, three phase cycloconverter is designed with required frequency output. Finally to support theoretical analysis, simulation results are presented.

A Novel Maximum Power Point Tracking Method for the Photovoltaic System 一种新的光伏系统最大功率点跟踪方法

A novel maximum power point tracking (MPPT) method for the photovoltaic system is proposed in this paper. The main feature of the proposed MPPT method is that only a current is required to be detected. Therefore, the proposed method has the advantage of simplifying the control circuit compared with the conventional perturbation and observation method where both current and voltage should be detected. A prototype based on the digital signal processor (DSP) controller is developed and tested to verify the performance of the proposed MPPT method. The experimental results show the proposed method has the expected performance.

This paper presents a new control strategy based on integral cycle control of the excitation capacitors to achieve excellent voltage regulation for all types of loads including direct on line starting of induction motors. The integral control strategy not only eliminates switching harmonics but also the requirement of exactly sized capacitors, which are hard to procure. In addition the implemented system is self starting without the need of any external energy source/storage. The paper presents simulation and experimental results both of which show excellent voltage regulation that can be obtained at any desired operating point on the magnetization curve of the core material including the linear region, a region where no operation was possible using the previously available control methods.

Applying Modified One-Comparator Counter-Based PWM Control Strategy to Flyback Converter 基于改进单比较器计数器的PWM控制策略在反激变换器中的应用

In this paper, the field programmable gate arrays (FPGA) technique is used to control the flyback converter. The proposed control loop design, together with the one-comparator counter-based PWM control strategy without any analog-to digital converter (ADC) used is presented and applied to controlling the flyback converter under the discontinuous current mode (DCM). The detailed illustration of the proposed control scheme is provided, together with some experimental results to verify its effectiveness.

A General Method for Deciding the Input Filter Capacitance of Flyback Switching AC-DC Converter with Peak Current-Controlled Mode 峰值电流控制型反激开关交直流变换器输入滤波电容的一般确定方法

This paper presents a general method for deciding the input filter capacitance of flyback switching ac- dc converters with peak current-controlled mode. Firstly, a simulation model for flyback ac-dc converter is obtained by adding the rectifier and filter circuit to a flyback dc-dc converter model developed by the authors. The simulation results show that the processes of capacitor charging and discharging are independent, their boundary is near the maximal value of input voltage, and the part of flyback dc- dc converter can be seen as an approximately constant power load. Secondly, an analytic model for deciding the input power of flyback dc-dc converter with rated load and different input dc voltages is presented. Furthermore, the effect caused by the parasitical parameters in the electronic parts is studied, and the corresponding analytical method for deciding the input filter capacitance is given. The effect on the capacitance caused by the control delay is analyzed qualitatively.

Coordinated design of PSS and TCSC dynamics model for power system network oscillations 电网振荡PSS与TCSC动力学模型的协调设计

This paper presents coordinated design of PSS and TCSC dynamics model for electric power systems oscillations damping. A simplified fundamental frequency model of TCSC is proposed and the model results are verified, initially. This paper presents an analytical dynamic model for TCSC to demonstrate how it consistently behaves in the large power system networks and efficiently stabilizes its oscillations in the case of a disturbance. The model for possible undesirable interactions between the PSS-type damping controllers and the TCSC damping controller is implemented by using the multi-machine model in the design stage. The proposed technique ensures that the designed controllers fulfill various practical requirements of the oscillation damping problem in power systems.

Practical Issues Concerned with Zero sequence component and Harmonic Compensation in Four-Wire systems 四线制系统零序分量及谐波补偿的实际问题

A minimization problem for the instantaneous active and reactive currents give the optimal solution for the three-wire three-phase systems. This basic solution is simple to implement, but posing practical issues when it is applied to a four-wire three-phase system. The generalized theory of instantaneous powers has been proposed as an alternative to the optimal solution for a general three-phase system. Various simulations performed using this method, showing similar issues like those of the optimal solution for the four- wire systems when the power system is unbalanced or distorted. This paper mathematically shows that the optimal solution can be presented like the generalized theory, concluding no difference between the two methods but their appearances. Further, complementary analytical discussions are suggested to overcome the stated problem. Finally, the improved solution is simulated for an unbalanced distorted four-wire system. Comparing the complementary solutions with those of previously emerged generalized definitions confirms that the proposed solution provides almost a complete cancellation of source zero sequence current under unbalanced three-phase load voltages.

Analysis of Hopf Bifurcation in DC-DC Luo Converter using Continuous Time Model 基于连续时间模型的DC-DC变换器Hopf分岔分析

DC-DC converters have been reported as exhibiting a wide range of bifurcations and chaos under certain conditions. This paper analyses the bifurcations in current controlled Luo topology operating in the continuous conduction mode by means of a continuous time model. The stability of the system is analyzed by studying the locus of the complex eigen values and the characteristic multipliers locate the onset of Hopf bifurcation. The 1-periodic orbit loses its stability via Hopf bifurcation and the resulting attractor is a quasi-periodic orbit. This later bifurcates to chaos via border collision bifurcation. A computer simulation using MATLAB SIMULINK confirms the predicted bifurcations. It has also been inferred from the experimental results that the margin of system stability decreases as the load decreases.

The stability of the system is analyzed by studying the locus of the complex eigen values and the characteristic multipliers locate the onset of Hopf bifurcation. The 1-periodic orbit loses its stability via Hopf bifurcation and the resulting attractor is a quasi-periodic orbit. This later bifurcates to chaos via border collision bifurcation. A computer simulation using MATLAB SIMULINK confirms the predicted bifurcations. A Novel Control Strategy of the Class-D Stereo Audio Amplifier 一种新的d类立体声音频放大器控制策略

This paper presents a class-D stereo audio amplifier that controls directly the current of speakers using three phase full bridge circuit. And a new switching method for the current control of the amplifier is proposed. The proposed switching strategy is an improved version of the dead time minimization method, which can reduce current intermittence that commonly occurs with the conventional dead time minimization method whenever the current changes polarity. Dead time is not always adapted in the proposed method, which makes it different from the conventional practice of applying dead time in every current polarity changing point. In this paper, the specific strategy for the stereo operation is discussed. With the experimental results, usefulness of the control strategy is confirmed.
