Biji Jinten hitam (Nigella sativa L.) merupakan salah satu tanaman obat yang memiliki khasiat sebagai anti-inflamasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa efek anti-inflamasi disebabkan karena kandungan timol dan kuinon pada biji jinten hitam Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat formulasi sediaan gummy candies ekstrak jinten hitam dengan variasi gelatin-gliserin. Jinten hitam diekstraksi dengan metode maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol 96%. Ekstrak jinten hitam diformulasi menjadi sediaan gummy candies dengan menggunakan basis gliserin:gelatin dalam berbagai perbandingan yaitu Formula 1 60:25; Formula 2 65:20 dan Formula 3 70:15. Gummy candies dilakukan pengujian sifat fisik seperti organoleptik, kekerasan, kekenyalan, keseragaman bobot, pH dan uji hedonik serta analisis kimia berupa uji kadar air dan kadar abu. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa biji jinten hitam dapat dibuat sediaan gummy candies yang baik. Semakin tinggi konsentrasi gelatin, kekerasan dan kekenyalan sediaan semakin meningkat. Formula 1 dengan konsentrasi gelatin tertinggi (60:25:15) menunjukan nilai kekerasan 2161,5 g dan kekenyalan 57,51 mJ dan merupakan formula yang paling disukai oleh responden karena memiliki jumlah skor tertinggi pada uji hedonik

The skin is the first organ that is badly affected by the emergence of free radicals, therefore antioxidant molecules are needed to capture the negative effects of free radicals. The use of antioxidants on the face is recommended in topical dosage forms. The use of peel-off gel masks from natural ingredients is useful for repairing and treating facial skin from skin problems. This review aims to examine, and compare the formulation of a peel-off gel mask as an antioxidant with good physical stability, which can be combined with active substances from plant extracts. Tempuyung (Sonchus arvensis L.) is a plant from the Asteraceae family which is often used as a diuretic, kidney stones, gallstones, swelling, asthma, cholesterol lowering, bronchitis and in previous studies showed its effectiveness as an antihyperuricemic drug. Its potential use as a raw material for drugs needs to be supported by safety tests. This study was conducted to determine the acute toxicity of ethanol extract of tempuyung leaves in terms of clinical symptoms, body weight, organ index, macropathological changes, LD50 description and classification of acute toxicity of ethanol extract of tempuyung leaves (Sonchus arvensis L.) in female mice (Mus musculus). Acute toxicity test was performed orally using the fixed dose method and each group consisted of 5 female mice. The doses used were 5 mg/kg BW, 50 mg/kg BW, 300 mg/kg BW, 2000 mg/kg BW, and continued to the limit test of 5000 mg/kg BW. The result of this study is that in the preliminary test, it was found that there were symptoms of toxicity in the form of clinical symptoms ranging from doses of 5 mg/kg BW to 2000 mg/kg BW although there were no deaths in experimental animals. In the main test, a limit test of 5000 mg/kg BW was added where 80% of the mice died after 24 hours. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the ethanol extract of tempuyung (Sonchus arvensis L.) leaves had an LD50 range > 2000 mg/kg BW with a classification of slightly toxic to female mice (Mus musculus) test animals.

Honey has a variety of beneficial compounds, one is a flavonoid that can inhibit the pain enzyme namely cyclooxygenase. Klanceng honey is one of kind honey that is easily found in Indonesia and is unique cause honey comes from various plants that make it easy to cultivate. Besides honey, another natural ingredient that is popular with the antioxidant compound is garlic. It is known that the single garlic in the antioxidant compound is higher than the common garlic. The study is intended to identify the analgesic effect of fermented pure honey with single garlic in male mice. The research hypothesis is that H0= fermented pure honey with single garlic hasn’t an analgesic effect in mice and H1 = fermented pure honey with single garlic has an analgesic effect in male mice. Used 5 treatment groups where each mouse is induced by acetic acid. The group consists of negative control (aqua dest 0,5 ml), positive control (ibuprofen 0,65mg/20g BB), Treatment I (fermented honey 1 week 50% 37mg/20g BB), Treatment II (fermented honey 2 weeks 50% 37mg/20g BB) and Treatment III (pure honey 50% 37mg/20g BB). The result, fermented Klanceng Honey with single garlic with a dose of 37mg/20gBB 50% has an analgesic effect, especially those fermented in 2 weeks. If fermented honey of 2 weeks compared with 1-week fermentation and pure honey, it has a surplus: a)high-protection numbers; b)the lower average of writhings numbers and c)longer onset of writhings than 1-week fermentation.
