Characterization of microwave-sintered barium strontium titanate nanoparticles prepared by the hydrothermal method 水热法制备微波烧结钛酸锶钡纳米颗粒的表征

The hydrothermal technique was used to synthesize barium strontium titanate nanoparticles of Ba1−xSrxTiO3 (BSTx), where x = 0.2 and 0.3. The nanoparticles of BSTx are annealed at 800 °C for 1 h to stabilize the crystalline phase. The annealed BSTx was used to produce ceramic bodies employing a microwave sintering at 1200 °C. Effectively, BSTx samples are synthesized via double-sintering route. BST0.20 and BST0.30 are subjected to the particle size analysis, crystal structure analysis and dielectric and ferroelectric properties. The observations are interesting and the results could be correlated and compared with earlier reports.

Membranes of polycarbonate/poly(styrene-co-allyl alcohol) reinforced with nano-zeolite-based filler for gas separation 纳米沸石基填料增强聚碳酸酯/聚苯乙烯-共烯丙醇膜的气体分离

ABSTRACTIn this work, blend membrane of polycarbonate (PC) and poly(styrene-co-allyl alcohol) (PSAA) was fabricated via phase inversion technique. Two types of nanofiller were employed for the membrane reinforcement including nano-zeolite (NZ) and bifiller of nano-zeolite-carbon nanotube (NZ-CNT). The PC/PSAA/NZ-CNT membrane with 10 wt.% filler revealed the formation of gyroid type microstructure. The tensile strength of PC/PSAA/NZ 1–10 was 42.1–55.5 MPa, whereas PC/PSAA/NZ-CNT 1–10 showed higher value of 56.9–68.7 MPa. Moreover, the tensile strength of PC/PSAA/NZ-CNT 10 was 53% higher than the PC/PSAA matrix (32.2 MPa). Similarly, the Young's modulus of PC/PSAA/NZ-CNT 1–10 was increased from 133.2 to 144.2 MPa, and was found higher than the PC/PSAA/NZ 1–10 (101.1–122.1 MPa). The NZ-CNT filler was found more effective than NZ in enhancing permselectivity. Effect of HCN passivation on silicon oxide thin layer HCN钝化对氧化硅薄层的影响

Silicon dioxide layers are materials with unique dielectric and interface properties. We investigated samples with SiO2 layers prepared with nitric acid oxidation of silicon (NAOS) method and with natural oxide layer after passivation with HCN aqueous solution. Samples were investigated with atomic force microscopy (AFM) and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. We found higher roughness of layers after passivation and different effects of HCN passivation on samples. From the measurements, we conclude that HCN passivation influences structural and optical properties of SiO2 layer.

Synthesis of novel benzofluorenone derivatives and their HIV reverse transcriptase inhibitory activity 新型苯并芴酮衍生物的合成及其HIV逆转录酶抑制活性

Novel benzofluorenone derivatives have been prepared in remarkably outstanding yield through intramolecular cyclization of β-arylidene-β-benzoylpropionic acid. The reaction was promoted proficiently by extremely small amounts of montmorillonite K10 acting as a heterogeneous catalyst using ethanolic medium at 100 °C. It is for the first time that, these newly synthesized benzofluorenone derivatives exhibited anti-HIV (antiretroviral) activity. This important activity was estimated by using regular assay kits. Further, among the synthesized basic benzofluorenone derivatives, the compound named ‘2C’ was found to be most potent with the lowest IC50 (21.86 µg/mL) followed by the compound ‘2G’ with IC50 (27.40 µg/mL).

In the present work, the synthesis of novel device for the efficient removal of toxic cationic dye methylene blue (MB) from aqueous fluid was carried out. The device was fabricated by in-situ incorporation of K2Zn3[Fe(CN)6]2·9H2O nanoparticles into gum semi-IPN matrix in the presence of glutaraldehyde-ammonium persulphate as crosslinker–initiator system. The effect of several reaction variables such as time, solvent, temperature, pH, crosslinker, initiator concentration and monomer concentration on the fluid uptake capacity of the candidate sample was explored. The morphological and structural properties were studied using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction studies. Thermal stability was evaluated by thermogravimetric analysis/differential thermal analysis/differential thermogravimetric analysis. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are chemical compounds containing two or more fused benzene rings in linear, angular or cluster arrangement, consisting of only carbon and hydrogen. Polycyclic aromatic carbons (PACs) include the unsubstituted hydrocarbons (PAHs) and substituted PAHs (e.g. nitro-PAH, oxygenated PAH). PAHs are the most stable form of hydrocarbons having low hydrogen-to-carbon ratio and usually occur in complex mixtures rather than single compounds. In this study, cassava (Manihot species) dewatering centrifuge was modeled as a multivariable machine using dimensional analysis. The efficiency and throughput of the centrifuge were modeled. Multiferroic nanocomposites x[Co0.9Ni0.1Fe2O4]-(1−x)[0.5(Ba0.7Ca0.3)TiO3-0.5Ba(Zr0.2Ti0.8)O3], x = 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, have been prepared by the co-precipitation method followed by microwave sintering. The properties of the sintered composites were investigated using different techniques, namely, structural, micro-structural, dielectric, magnetic, and magnetodielectric analyses. X-ray diffraction analysis confirms the perovskite phase and spinal phase. The dielectric constant and loss factor of the composites were studied as a function of frequency and temperature. It is observed that the dielectric constant has two anomalies: one corresponds to ferroelectric to paraelectric transition below ∼130 °C of BCT–BZT and second is the magnetic transition of CNFO above ∼450 °C. Both the ferroelectric and ferromagnetic behaviours of the composites were observed at room temperature with strong dependence on the content of magnetic material. AbstractThis article reports the synthesis of bis [3-acetoxy-2-aryl/heteroaryl-4H-chromone] Cu (II) complexes 6(a–g) in 1:2 stoichiometry ratio of copper acetate and 3-acetoxy-2-aryl/heteroaryl-4H-chromone. While chelating ligands, active functionalized 3-acetoxyflavones (2-aryl/heteroaryl-3-acetoxy-4H-chromones) 5(a–g) are synthesized by Algar–Flynn–Oyamada transformation of chalcones (1-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-3-phenylprop-2-en-1-ones) 4(a–g). The synthesized copper complexes are characterized by the standard techniques such as physical Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), UV-reflectance spectroscopy, magnetic susceptibility and thermal analysis. Furthermore, antimicrobial activities are investigated using the standard methods. The antifungal activity was tested against Rhizoctonia solani and Candida tropicals, while antibacterial activity was screened against pathogenic bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
