In this paper, a distance-based kinematic level formation maneuvering control is proposed for multiple non-holonomic mobile robots to track a predefined trajectory while retaining the desired formation shape. Rigidity properties from the graph theory are the key tool to define the interactions among the robots. A leader-follower approach is used by assuming that only the leader knows the desired maneuvering velocity. As a result, the control signal will include a distributed observer to estimate the unknown velocities of the followers with which they have to move. A low pass filter(LPF) is employed to alleviate the chattering in the control signal. Also, a disturbance ob-server(DOB) is proposed for mobile robots to achieve robustness to disturbances. Simulation results are included to substantiate the claims about the performance of designed controllers and filters.

Deficiency in healthy Red Blood Cells (RBC) leads to insufficient oxygen to be carried to whole blood tissues. Many reasons cause such an issue like iron or vitamin deficiency which is known as Anemia. Pregnant women, children under the age of 6, people with a low vitamin diet and losing their blood due to surgery or injury are at risk that will tend to have anemia. Such a disease can be diagnosed by blood test called Complete Blood Count (CBC), which evaluates Hemoglobin levels of patient’s blood. Undiagnosed or untreated left disease, such as anemia, can cause health problems such as severe fatigue and pregnancy complications. Different types of anemia, especially those associated with iron or vitamin deficiency, can be ameliorated, especially when detected at an early stage. In this paper, four techniques, Bayesian Network (BN), Naive Bayes (NB), Logistic Regression (LR) and Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) have been applied to predict anemia based on 539 data, with 10 attributes, collected from laboratories. The LR has given better results compared to other considered techniques. In addition, attribute evaluators such as information gain have been applied to demonstrate the high performance of the system with minimum characteristics.

In this fast-growing world, where everyone is in hurry, speed has become a critical factor even in the electronics world. It’s not the answer but a fast answer is the need of the time. Artificial intelligence has touched almost all aspects of our lives. But the software implementation of machine learning algorithms has not been able to meet the expectations of solutions in nanoseconds, especially where neural networks with extensive calculations and arithmetic computations are involved. Multiplication and accumulation unit is an integral part of many signal processing and machine learning algorithms. Here we implement an arithmetic module based on distributed arithmetic imbibed with Residual Number System to prove the efficacy of hardware design over software implementation. The purpose is to exploit the parallelism property of FPGAs to accelerate the computations. The target device used is xc6vlx75t3ff484 from Virtex- 6 family in Xilinx. Simulations are tested in MATLAB and ModelSim with associated data to justify its feasibility.

Hybrid and electric vehicles are gaining popularity, making the improvement in charging station infrastructure a necessity. Superchargers and mega-chargers have set a benchmark for fast charging of high capacity vehicle batteries. Commercial charging stations are available but only at places with high EV expectancy regions. India’s mobility mantra of "Shared, connected and Electric" with 100% EV by 2030 seems to be quite ambitious, but with increased awareness amongst the consumers and aiding government policies, this goal can be achieved. Ministry of power and Dept. of Heavy Industry Ministry has invited proposals with a target of 1000 EVCS and Tata power has proposed to build around 500 EVCS by 2020. In mega-cities, multi-level parking stations, malls, multiplexes are available with large parking capacity for vehicles. These places are most likely to be parked with EVs in upcoming days and automated parking and charging stations can be implemented there with the proper infrastructure to support their charging. Even rooftop can be utilized to install solar generation plants of suitable capacity to ensure dc fast charging. India receives around 5000 trillion kWh per year energy with an average of 4-7 kWh sq. per day. A grid-connected solar enabled automated charging station will simplify the charging of autonomous vehicles. The driverless cars will function as pickup cars taking the user to the desired destination with additional features such as carpooling. A rooftop solar installation for domestic purpose can be utilized for charging EVs and can also serve as commercial stations.

Regenerative braking is an efficient method of reusing the kinetic energy of decelerating e-vehicle by restoring the energy into the battery. The recovered energy can be used to supply power to the grid or it can be stored for the future. It reduces the wastage of energy and also helps to increase the traveling distance. BLDC and PMSM motor are used for e- vehicles due to its very good torque-speed characteristics. The mathematical modeling of the BLDC motor is done in this work. The study of vehicle dynamics for the regenerative braking system is done. This electronic commutation process is the same for both motoring and regenerative modes based on Hall sensor output. Our main aim is to have a compatible approach towards the utilization of electric vehicles for mountainous terrain and its comparison with the performance of e-vehicle on the plane region. A comparison between the two terrains will be done based on the inclination between the ground level and slope on which e-vehicle is running.

Terrorism is a great threat prevailing in the society and has been around for centuries. Some terror strikes tend to resonate more than others, for reasons that are inexplicable. It is one of the biggest danger faced by countries all over the world. Several attempts were made to exterminate terrorism in the past but there is a need for some alternative promising techniques to eradicate the immense loss caused due to terrorism. Therefore, authors of this paper have devised various approaches by applying different machine learning algorithms and tried to visualize the result through visual analytics that recognize hidden patterns and trends in terrorist events and networks. This work is entirely depicted through visual analytics on terrorism database which further predicting the future outcome of these attacks in India.

With an increase in network traffic, optical networks find their use in communication of high rate data systems and are used in the access part of the network. The main technology used here is the Hybrid Passive Optical Network (Hybrid PON) which provides longer reach and a higher data rate. Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) PON can make the transmission through optical fiber possible for a long distance at a high data rate. A Hybrid PON utilizes the advantages of WDM-PON as well as share the same wavelength with a number of users. This research basically aims at improving the data rate and in increasing the reach of such a network by using different modulation techniques and amplifiers. Normally On-Off Keying (OOK) is used in such an access network scenario. We have analyzed the effect of the Differential Quadrature Phase Shift Keying (DQPSK) line technique in comparison to the usual On-Off Keying (OOK) technique with and without Erbium-Doped Fiber Amplifier (EDFA).

Management of queuing disciplines is one of the most important things to be considered when addressing performance management of network equipment, due to its important role in ensuring the required quality of service for applications exchanged over network. In this article, an advanced WFQ queuing management technique is proposed with adding a Time Stamp parameter for all data packets generated from the sources, which is used to discard all packets that have been in the queue for a certain time and have not been served. Results showed a significant improvement on the performance of the entire network by reducing the time delay of the transferred packets for all proposed applications by 33.4% compared with PQ algorithm after adding the Time Stamp for both, which improved the quality of real-time applications that are particularly sensitive to network delays.

There are several situations wherein a radio network’s availability is critical. The situations could arise based on natural disasters or other man-made catastrophes, and they may involve destruction to the radio service infrastructure too. In recent years, the efforts to address this challenge have gained momentum. In this paper, we present an Open-source framework and a roadmap for a robust and portable cellular network – created by an embedded system which can itself be moving. We report on the successful completion of the first milestone in this journey – establishing a Base Transceiver System based on reconfigurable Software Defined Radio, supporting voice calls and text messaging.
