This study tries to reveal how types of consumer benefits influence on brand personality of women's lingerie brand. As consumer benefit is one of the key factors of brand knowledge, it is assumed that the type of that has influence on brand personality which is the whole picture of how consumers perceive the consumer-brand relationships. In order to investigate above assumption, survey results are analyzed. This survey is conducted and asked about brand attitude, benefit, brand personality and corporate image of women's lingerie manufacturers.

This work investigates how the measured twist of a rotor yarn is affected by the process parameters in spinning. Eight of these parameters are studied systematically using the orthogonal array technique. The fibre type is found to be the most influential, followed by the twist factor and the rotor speed. The likely causes of these effects are discussed.

Numerical simulation of viscoelastic flow in two three-dimensional (3-D) rectangular abrupt contraction channels was carried out using the Giesekus model. The HSMAC (Highly Simplified Marker and Cell) scheme was applied to solve the discretized basic equations. 3-D flow patterns and the distribution of vortex size were investigated to elucidate 3-D flow property. Several 3-D flow phenomena such as a spiral flow were predicted. The effect of wall was strong when the aspect ratio of the channel (width/height) was small, and the 3-D flow behavior was notable near the channel wall: the vortex size drastically changed near the wall.

Bending vibrational properties of polyester Shingosen fabrics were measured and analyzed by using the new mechanical parameters of bending vibration. It was shown that bending vibration of New Silky, Rayon Touch, and Peach Face type Shingosen fabrics continued longer than New Worsted type in the conventional classification, however, shorter than natural silk filament fabrics. In the classification of production characteristics, yarn-processing type Shingosen fabrics damped sooner than fabric-finishing and fiber-production type in bending vibration. In the classification of fiber characteristics, bending vibration of contractile fibers type Shingosen fabrics continued the longest and ultra-fine fibers type the shortest. Those features of Shingosen fabrics in bending vibrational properties became more distinct by discriminant analysis using the parameters of bending vibration as variables.

The Start-up flow of viscoelastic fluids in three abrupt contraction-expansion channels was numerically studied using the Leonov model. A slit channel connects two parallel conduits, and the three contraction-expansion channels are different in the slit length. The analysis in terms of the stress power showed that the swell of the flow at the expansion region was related to the release of elastic energy which was stored in the upstream channel; when the slit length is shorter, more elastic energy should be released at the expansion region, hence the swell occurred more greatly.

The effect of the Weissenberg number on a fully-developed flow of dilute polymer solution is numerically examined using Brownian dynamics simulation. The results demonstrate the ability of a mesoscopic approach to predict accurate results in a viscoelastic flow problem using a kinetic theory model: a FENS dumbbell model.

The influences of the fundamental characteristics of weft yarns and decatizing treatment on the mechanical properties of silk necktie fabrics were investigated. The silk necktie fabrics with 63 denier weft yarns (manufactured by twisting 3 silk yarns of 21 denier) in doubles showed higher values of the shear and bending rigidity as well as their hysteresis as compared with the fabrics with 126 denier weft yarns (manufactured by twisting 6 silk yarns of 21 denier) in singles. For the fabrics with methacrylamide grafted 126 denier weft yarns, the shear rigidity and its hysteresis decreased, but the bending rigidity of satin fabrics increased. The decatizing treatment was effective to reduce the shear rigidity and its hysteresis.

The effect of yarn cross section on the air drag coefficient and the characteristic length is examined for spandex yarn with non-circular cross section. Methods for estimating the air drag of spandex yarns in axisymmetric air flow are investigated. Results obtained are as follows:1) Although the drag coefficient for thin yarns is similar to that of a cylinder, the air drag coefficient of spandex yarn shows similarity to that of a flat plate because of remarkable irregularities in its cross section.2) The drag coefficient for a fixed- end yarn is the same as that for a flat plate. The drag coefficient for a free- end yarn is twice that of the fixed- end yarn. This value is useful in calculating yarn air drag.3) It is efficient and reasonable to use the effective diameter converted from the yarn perimeter length-without any consideration to its irregularity-as the characteristic length of the spandex yarn.
