On the nonlinear control of induction motors 感应电动机的非线性控制

In this work a new speed control for a symmetrical squirrel cage induction motor is presented. We consider two cases: (i) under assumption of the knowledge of load torque, we derive an observerless scheme, for which a stability analysis is given; and (ii) when the load torque is unknown, a nonlinear observer is used and the analysis is carried out in order to guarantee the stability properties of the closed loop system, including the observer.

An on-line loss minimization controller for interior permanent magnet motor drives 内置式永磁电机驱动在线损耗最小化控制器

An adaptive loss minimization controller (ALMC) is proposed for interior permanent magnet (IPM) motor drives for the first time. The loss minimization process is very fast and the drive performance is very smooth under the ALMC scheme which is implemented by using a TMS320C31 DSP. Excellent experimental results validate the ability of the proposed ALMC to minimize the total drive losses precisely.

Intelligent control and estimation in power electronics and drives 电力电子和驱动的智能控制和估计

Intelligent control and estimation of power electronic systems by fuzzy logic and neural network techniques show tremendous promise for the future. The paper discusses primarily the work done in this area in the University of Tennessee Power Electronics Laboratory. Altogether seven projects are discussed These are: (1) fuzzy controlled DC motor drive, (2) induction motor drive with fuzzy efficiency optimizer, (3) fuzzy logic based control of wind generation system, (4) AC machine temperature and winding resistance estimation by fuzzy logic, (3) neural network based feedback signal estimation of AC drive, (6) neuro-fuzzy efficiency optimization of induction motor drive, and (7) waveform estimation by neural network.

The paper describes a new form of actuator that depends on eddy currents for its operation. Its design with the aid of computational electromagnetics taking account of the external supply and thermal effects is presented. The thrust vs displacement characteristic of the actuator is shown to depend on one design parameter. Its control is achieved by the use of DSP hardware and software.

This paper deals with the transient numerical analysis of electromechanical devices driven by thin wire coils. The dynamic behaviour is described by the Maxwell equations, by the constitutive equations, and by the equations of motion. For the solution of the electromagnetic problem the BEM-FEM coupling method is used. A watch stepping motor is presented as an example.

The influence of rotor geometry of synchronous reluctance motors (SRM) on the x/sub d//x/sub q/ ratio, on electromagnetic torque and on iron losses is studied. Both air-gap and rotor pole are are taken into account as parameters. In Part I, a new theoretical approach was developed which neglects saturation effects. Here, a complete finite-element analysis of a particular SRM is carried out, followed by a comparison with results obtained by tests performed in a prototype machine, which was constructed in order to test and validate the proposed methodology.

Three-phase slip-ring induction motor: effects of rotor asymmetry 三相滑环感应电动机:转子不对称的影响

This work has developed a steady-state and dynamic mathematical model of three phase slip-ring induction motors with external impedance. Differential equations are solved using computer simulation and data for an induction machine are obtained from laboratory tests. It is shown that harmonics due to impedance asymmetry produce changes on the electromagnetic torque and induce harmonic frequency currents in the stator windings.

Operation of fault tolerant machines with winding failures 绕组故障的容错机器的操作

This paper examines winding faults in a demonstrator switched reluctance motor (SRM) drive, based on the specification for an aircraft fuel pump. This motor drive has been designed with a degree of inherent fault tolerance and is capable of continued operation in the presence of a variety of faults. The paper focuses on the possible consequences of winding insulation failure within a phase of the machine. A method of detecting turn to turn short circuits which may result from winding insulation breakdown is presented, along with a strategy for continued post fault operation of the drive.

Industrial equipment such as speed drives, electronics, controls and robotics and computer and communication systems are affected by bad power quality. Voltage dips/sags can cause shutdown of whole plants or result in quality reductions. With an electronic tap-changer (DVR), most of the voltage dips can be avoided. The tap-changer can regulate voltage dips within one cycle to levels that maintain the equipment in good operation. Since static electronic tap-changers do not have moving parts in the current path only simple maintenance is required and there are almost no limitations in the number of operations during their lifetime. The tap-changer can be mounted on to a full transformer, an auto-transformer or a booster transformer in different current and voltage ratings to fit all utility demands.
