Promoting the urgency of restorative justice to environmental law enforcement officials through civic engagement education 通过公民参与教育,向环境执法官员宣传恢复性司法的紧迫性

Although bringing cases of environmental damage to court means prioritizing the principle of primum remedium by way of retributive justice or criminal justice, it unfortunately creates various problems including the practice of corruption, collusion and nepotism. Therefore, it is necessary for law enforcement officials to understand and apply restorative justice in environmental crime, which means prioritizing the principle of ultimum remedium, through civic engagement education. This research method includes social research which also covers the field of law since it analyzes positive laws that are relevant to solving problems using literature and other sources as needed. This research uses a juridical-normative legal approach which is very dependent on the researcher's conception of positive law. The results of this study indicate that law enforcement officials should understand their position as part of the community members who have duties and authorities based on the law, so that justice and ecological goals can be achieved in efforts to preserve the environment.

Misconception of reading literacy and its impacts on literacy acculturation in school 阅读文化的误解及其对学校文化适应的影响

Literacy competencies are important for students to keep abreast of the pace in the 4.0 industrial age. Misunderstanding of the concept of literacy may result in the incorrect application of literacy acculturation. This study is aimed at 1) describing teachers’ misconceptions of reading literacy and 2) describing the implementation of students’ reading literacy acculturation at school. Data were collected from teachers’ and students’ statements and activities during the literacy acculturation activities in the participating schools from 19 regencies in East Java, Indonesia. Additional data were in the forms of documents and field notes obtained from observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentary studies. The results show that: 1) the concept of literacy is understood as literal and mechanistic reading, and 2) schools tend to apply formal literacy activities by asking students to read texts 15 minutes before classes begin. Several problems are found in most research sites in which there is no follow-up on the given free reading assignments, teachers and school principals neither become literacy models, the availability of fiction and non-fiction books is limited, and students are not highly motivated to follow the reading literacy program. This study implies the urgent need to improve all school stakeholders understanding of the literacy concept and provide better activities for the implementation of the reading literacy acculturation program in schools.

COVID-19 pandemic anxiety, academic stress, and quality of life among college students in the Philippines: A mediation study 菲律宾大学生COVID-19大流行焦虑、学业压力和生活质量:一项中介研究

Cognizant of the specific pathways that students’ lives can be impacted by the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, this study investigated the relationship between COVID-19 pandemic anxiety and quality of life of Filipino college students and examined the mediating role of academic stress in this relationship. A total of 1,024 students enrolled in Philippine universities and colleges participated in this cross-sectional analytical study. Findings suggest that pandemic anxiety was positively correlated with quality of life (c=.399, p=0.002). When academic stress was added as a mediator, pandemic anxiety was found to have a negative indirect effect on quality of life (ab=-.410, p.001), and maintained a positive direct effect on quality of life (c’=.809, p.001), yielding an inconsistent mediation model among the three variables. This means that COVID-19 pandemic anxiety has a double-edged effect on quality of life, with its negative effect explained through the pathway of academic stress. It is recommended that stakeholders in college education employ interventions to address academic stress among students.

Online civic engagement through social media: An analysis of twitter big data 通过社交媒体的在线公民参与:对twitter大数据的分析

The development of social media and internet networks has stimulated new scientific interest in terms of online civic engagement, resulting in a redefinition of deliberative politics and the public sphere. On the other hand, all aspects of human life today have been translated into big data and recorded in their activities on social media. The shift from using humans as the unit of study to using algorithms creates a new problem for academics in social science. This online civic engagement research aims to find out the topic of discourse for digital citizens in the discourse of moving the nation's capital city (IKN) and what the ideology behind the discourse is by utilizing Twitter big data. This study used a mixed method with a sequential explanatory design type. The quantitative method used is topic modeling with the Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) technique, while the qualitative method used is the Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) method from Norman Fairclough, who sees language as a practice of power. Findings from the topic modeling analysis revealed that there were four themes in the IKN discourse: agreeing to move the state capital, objecting to move the state capital, supporting the discourse on moving the state capital, and the fourth theme, law and eradication of corruption. From the results of critical discourse analysis, it is known that there is a diametrical division in the IKN issue as a result of identity politics that emerged after the 2014 Presidential Election. In every discussion on the IKN discourse, there is a conflict between Islamic populism and Nationalist-Secular populism.

Building characters using local wisdom in ngaras and siraman traditions of sundanese weddings 利用当地智慧在恩加拉和西拉曼传统的sundanese婚礼中塑造人物

Nowadays, many people are attracted to almost extinct traditions, such as Ngaras and Siraman, in Sundanese weddings. Prominent figures, celebrities, actresses/actors, and ordinary people have re-implemented these traditions, but only a few know the content and local wisdom of the practices. This study aimed to examine Ngaras and Siraman and explore the local wisdom values of the traditions used to build students' character through education. The research method used was descriptive-qualitative analysis. Data were collected through literature and documentation review. The analysis revealed thatt Ngaras and Siraman are rituals done before akad nikah (marriage covenant). There are values of Sundanese local wisdom presented by the traditions when viewed from the practice, meaning, and function. First, the values are Trisilas (Three Bases), Catur Jati Diri Insani (Superior Human), and Gapura Pancawaluya (the Gate of Five Pillars of Completeness). Second, these values serve as good moral practices related to someone's relationships with God, himself, other human beings, nature, and time. Third, such values form morals function to pursue further implementation of ethno-pedagogy in school.

Character education and philosophical values in Ranggawarsita’s works 朗格瓦西塔作品中的品格教育与哲学价值

In this disruption era, the Javanese character education values are increasingly being abandoned by modern society. This study aims to explore the character education and philosophical values in Ranggawarsita's work entitled Serat Sabdajati. This study used a qualitative method with a hermeneutic design. The source of the data in this research is Serat Sabdajati, which consists of five pages published in 1985 (Karkono's translation). The data were in the form of lingual units: words, phrases, clauses and sentences in the Serat Sabdajati stanzas. The data in this study were analyzed using referential semantics. The results of the study indicate that Serat Sabdajati contains the following educational and philosophical values: (1) the value of always being humble; (2) the value of always trying to be introspective; (3) the value of patience; (4) the value of always avoiding disgraceful acts; (5) values of belief in God and obedience to worship; (6) the value to always obey and comply with the rules; and (7) the value of always think positively about whatever is destined by God. The conclusion of this research is that Ranggawarsita's work of Serat Sabda jati teaches that humans must always remember they life journey, and where they will go. A comprehensive discussion is presented by comparing the results of this study with previous studies.

High school learning outcomes: The effect of self-regulation, resilience, and family environment 高中学习成果:自我调节、心理弹性和家庭环境的影响

Inspired by the poor Economics learning outcomes of students in state senior high schools (SSHS) in Cianjur regency, this study aims to determine and analyze self-regulation mediating the effect of resilience and family environment on student learning outcomes. It employed an explanatory survey with questionnaires and observations to collect the data. The population of this study comprises all grade XI social science students of SSHSs in Cianjur Regency, while the sample members selected randomly include 223 students. The data collected was then analyzed by using multiple linear regression analysis with the mediator variable. The results likely show that (i) resilience and family environment are in the high category, while self-regulation and learning outcomes are in the medium category. (ii) Both resilience and family environment influence self-regulation, and (iii) resilience, family environment, and self-regulation affect learning outcomes. (iv) Resilience affects learning outcomes either directly or indirectly through self-regulation. (v) Family environment likely influences learning outcomes directly or indirectly through self-regulation. The results of this study imply that the concepts of resilience, family environment, and self-regulation are relevant and can estimate student learning outcomes.

Investigating teachers’ mathematics pedagogical content knowledge on ratio and proportion: Does it exist in teaching? 教师数学教学内容知识的比例与比例调查:在教学中是否存在?

There is a widespread agreement that Mathematics Pedagogical Content Knowledge (MPCK) become one of the key resources for teaching mathematics effectively. This qualitative research investigates the existence of primary teachers’ MPCK in mathematics teaching practice on ratio and proportion. Data were collected from the recorded videos of teaching observations of three primary teachers with different levels of Mathematics Content Knowledge (MCK) and MPCK selected from a paper and pencil test. A video observation instrument considering the MPCK factors’ framework for teaching ratio and proportion was used to explore the existence of MPCK in the teachers’ teaching practices. Data were analyzed by employing a whole-to-part approach of video-based data on three components of the teachers’ teaching practices on ratio and proportion, i.e., task level feature, the teaching of problem-solving strategies, and knowledge of students’ conceptual understanding. Results indicate that all the components of teachers’ MPCK can be observed in teaching practice appropriately or inappropriately due to teachers’ different levels of MPCK (Good, Medium, and Low). All MPCK factors were activated by the good teacher in her teaching appropriately differs from Medium and Low teachers. The Medium teacher needs more opportunities to learn about ratio and proportion task level features. The evidence leads to the opportunity to design a learning trajectory for In-service primary teachers that consider the integration of MPCK and MCK in balance.

Life quality of students majoring in sports education and its comparison with other students 体育教育专业学生的生活质量及其与其他专业学生的比较

Since it encompasses all facets of life, including health, hope, job, family, environment, and other aspects of daily existence, quality of life is one of the most important factors that may be categorized as a multidimensional term. However, each person's living circumstances might undoubtedly vary, which has an impact on how they perceive their quality of life. This study uses a descriptive survey method to investigate how students who undergo sports education and those who don't see their quality of life differently. It involved purposively selected 245 sports education students and 135 non-sports education students registered as active students admitted in the academic year of 2016-2019 in five (5) universities in Indonesia. All data, collected by using the WHOQOL-BREF quality of life scale, were quantitatively analyzed through the independent sample t-test. The results of the analysis likely prove that, in general, most students perceive a relatively good quality of life though there are differences in the quality of life between both groups. Students majoring in sports, however, have a better perception of quality of life than do non-sports education learners.

Focused classroom meeting model of teaching for enhancing students’ achievement motivation 提高学生成就动机的集中课堂会议教学模式

There have been different models of achievement motivation models proposed in the literature. This article aims to examine the effectiveness of the Focused Classroom Meeting Model of Teaching (FCMMT) which is based on the Trisula Model of Achievement Motivation in English as a foreign language setting. The effectiveness of FCMMT was examined through experimental research with randomized pre-test post-test control group design. The subjects consisted of 40 students of 11th Grade who were randomly selected from a senior high school. They were, then, randomly assigned into two different groups, namely experimental and control groups. The experimental group received FCMMT of teaching model intervention, while the control group was given classroom management intervention by applying the experimental design of the control group pre-test multiple post-tests. Both experimental and control groups received teaching intervention for 12 sessions (90 minutes per session; twice per week). The achievement motivation scale used was adapted from the Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ). The result of the experiment showed that FCMMT was effective in enhancing students’ achievement motivation. This study provides an alternative new model empirically found effective for increasing student achievement motivation, namely task value, self-efficacy, and goal orientation.
