Synthetic Evaluation of Power Quality Based on Fuzzy Cluster Analysis 基于模糊聚类分析的电能质量综合评价

In the electricity market environment, the quantified description from power quality synthetic evaluation is a vital basis for power quality evaluation (PQE) and electricity pricing. This paper presents a synthetic evaluation method for power quality based on fuzzy cluster analysis (FCA). First of all, with the membership function, the degree of membership of the different indices for different monitoring places was obtained and the fuzzy similar matrix was established. After a series of conversions for fuzzy similar matrix and operations, different clustering of power quality can be obtained. With the dynamic clustering diagram, the power qualities of different monitoring places were sorted and evaluated. Some typical example analysis shows that the FCA is practicable for the synthetic evaluation of power quality, and it is also a new idea. As a matter of fact, the FCA overcomes evaluation standard limitation too definitely on evaluation results, takes into the effect of general elements on power quality and ensures objective and precision. The FCA offers a scientific basis for customers to select power suppliers and price according to power quality.

Software for Power Grid Fault Location with Traveling-wave 基于行波的电网故障定位软件

Power grid fault location system using voltage traveling wave has been developed successfully by the authors. It includes traveling wave sensor, fault locator, and fault calculation center. Outputs of the sensors are applied to record the fault traveling wave arrived time with global position system (GPS) receiver in fault locator that is installed in every power station. The recorded times are then sent to fault calculation center. And the fault calculation center calculates the fault position. The fault calculation center communicates with fault locators in star model. Software for the calculation center and fault locator are designed in Delphi Language and presented in the paper, including display, human machine interface (HMI), communication, fault calculation, fault reporting, data base. The software is applied in a real power system for fault location. Test results show that the software has good performance and high reliability.

Self-organized Criticality and Its Application in Power System Collapse Prevention 自组织临界性及其在电力系统防崩溃中的应用

The state electric power transmission networks of china is experiencing rapid changes and will continue to be operated closer to a stressed condition in which there is substantial risk of cascading outages and blackouts. Major cascading disturbances, or blackouts of these transmission systems can obviously cause severe damage to our society. Based on the concept of self-organized criticality (SOC) and fractal and by analyzing power system blackouts in China from 1981 to 2002, the characters of SOC of domestic power system blackouts are revealed, and the scale-frequency models for blackouts occurred in nationwide power grid are constructed. For these statistics, it strongly suggests that SOC dynamics may play an important role in the global complex dynamics of power systems.

A Simulation Study on the Ethernet Communication of a Substation Automation System based on EPOCHS 基于EPOCHS的变电站自动化系统以太网通信仿真研究

This paper investigates communication protocols used to implement the network-103 substation communication protocol, which is generally applied in China, simulates a representative substation communication system, and presents an experimental comparison of different transport protocols used to transmit network-103 traffic. Simulation studies in the article make use of the EPOCHS (Electric Power and Communication Synchronizing Simulator) platform, which enables the simultaneous study of substation data flows according to both electric power, using PSCAD/EMTDC, and communication network, using NS2, perspectives. EPOCHS allows users to see how faults in the power network, modeled in PSCAD/EMTDC, impact communication traffic levels, within NS2, within and between substations and other power data sources. EPOCHS can be used to strictly simulate the time field characteristics of emergent events such as relay actions and breaker trips. At present, the network-103 protocol is often adopted in conjunction with the 104protocol/TCP communication protocol. This paper creates a 104protocol/UDP scheme, and compares its real-time performance with that of the 104protocol/TCP scheme within a simulated substation using the EPOCHS platform.

Design and Implementation Multilevel Inverter for 3ϕ Induction Motor Speed Control with RBM Chopper Technique embedded on FPGA 基于RBM斩波技术的3φ异步电机调速多电平逆变器的设计与实现

This paper introduces on designing of regular-based binary multiplier: RBM signal embedded on field programmable gate array: FPGA, which control induction-motor speed. Various forms of 8-bit RBM signal are generated and choppered with the multilevel-inverter output voltage whose switching angle is provided for determining amplitude of fundamental frequency and eliminating un required low-order harmonics. Objectives of this switching technique is improvement of the inverter output signal in term of total harmonic distortion voltage reduction (%THD) while controlling the motor. Such motor's efficiency and performance are improved while voltage to frequency ratio is maintained constantly for stable torque during control.

Application of Neural Networks to the Identification of Steady State Equivalents of External Power Systems 神经网络在外部电力系统稳态当量辨识中的应用

This paper suggests an approach based on artificial neural networks to identify steady state equivalents of external power systems. The underlying idea is to train an artificial neural network ANN to learn the behaviour of an external power system. After training, the ANN can be attached to the study system at its boundary buses, replacing the external power system and reproducing its behaviour. The equivalent model proposed in the article expresses the relationship between the power flows in the interconnection lines and the phase and voltage of the boundary buses. Thus, no external system information is required for constructing the equivalent. The model is functional in both directions, i.e using power flows as inputs and phasor voltages as outputs or using phasor voltages as inputs and power flows as outputs. The method was implemented and evaluated on the IEEE-30 bus system and on the Chinese Jiangxi province power system containing 294 buses. The results show that, given appropriate training, the ANN can serve as a model for a power system in an accurate and robust manner. Contrary to the classical methods, the non-linear character of the ANN enables it to accurately model the functioning of the external system also after major operating condition changes such as branch and generator outages.

The Study of Detailed Fossil Fuel Steam Unit Model for Long-term Power System Dynamic Simulation 用于电力系统长期动态仿真的化石燃料蒸汽机组详细模型研究

Long-term power system dynamic simulation needs to reflect the dynamic process of the fossil fuel steam unit when occurring severely disturbances in the power system. A physically based detailed model of the fossil fuel steam unit for power system long-term dynamic simulation has been described in this paper. The model can reflect the dynamic variation of the internal parameters accurately. In particular, the detailed model considers the dynamic impact on the turbine output from the extraction system. The simulation is much closer to the reality in the power system long-term dynamic process. This detailed model of the fossil fuel steam unit can be used for the power system long-term dynamic simulation.

Grid-Service Based Distributed Power Flow Calculation 基于电网服务的分布式潮流计算

This paper explores the feasibility of solving power flow using grid computing technology in a WAN (wide-area networks) based distributed environment. The formulation of distributed power flow calculation as well as the corresponding algorithms is proposed, which fully consider the inherently distributed nature of power systems and the reluctance of data exchange in a competitive market. A prototype grid is built to implement the distributed algorithm. Power flows of three systems with different scales are calculated to verify the convergence of the algorithm and test the performance of the grid computing environment.

A new method to realize the relay protection of AOCT following IEC61850 根据IEC61850标准,提出了一种实现AOCT继电保护的新方法

The optical current transducer is gaining interest because of its obvious advantages over conventional current transducers such as immunity to electromagnetic interference, high dynamic range and ease of integration into future digital control and protection systems. As the digital substation has been the tendency of power system, the study of the interface between electronic transducer and the protective device has become a hot topic. This paper has executed the merging unit, which can collect the digital signal from the adaptive optical current transducer and has realized how to transmit the digital signal to the protective device following IEC61850 through Ethernet. The circuit board based on MSP430 and CS8900A has better integrated level and operates stably. This paper also designed the scheme to realize optical fiber line differential protection based on AOCT following industrial computer and Lab VIEW real-time system.

Coordinated Control of Multiple Damping Controllers Using Artificial Immune Network Theory 基于人工免疫网络理论的多阻尼控制器协调控制

Power system stabilizer (PSS) and FACTS damping controller have been widely used to improve power system stability. Potential interactions among them can influence the effectiveness of damping control. An immune system operates to maintain the health of human bodies based on its ability to identify and respond to the intrusion of antigens. This paper explains the cooperative mechanism among antigens and different types of antibodies. A coordinated control method based on immune network theory is proposed to cope with multiple damping controllers simultaneously so as to keep a healthy level of power system damping. It acts by making full use of the advantageous interactions among controllers while minimizing adverse interactions such that power system oscillations are suppressed effectively. In this paper, an example power system installed with a PSS and a TCSC damping controller is presented that operate based on artificial immune coordinated control. Simulation results are given to demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness in variable circumstances of power system operation.
