ATR-FTIR Analysis on Aliphatic Hydrocarbon Bond (C-H) Formation and Carboxyl Content during the Ageing of DC Air Plasma Treated Cotton Cellulose and Its Impact on Hydrophilicity 直流空气等离子体处理棉纤维素老化过程中脂肪碳氢键形成和羧基含量的ATR-FTIR分析及其对亲水性的影响

The surface of the cotton fabric was modified using a Direct current (DC) air plasma treatment and hence enhances its hydrophilicity. The Box-Behnken approach (design expert software) was used to optimise the input process parameters. The sample prepared under optimized condition is subjected to ATR-FTIR and Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM) studies in order to determine the changes in hydrogen bond energies (EH), Total Crystallinity Index (TCI), Hydrogen Bond Intensity (HBI), Lateral Order Index (LOI), functionalization, lattice parameters (a, b, c & β), degree of crystallinity (in %) and surface etching. The ageing of this sample has been studied by comparing the values of carboxyl content and AC-C/AC-O-C ratio calculated using data extracted from ATR-FTIR spectra of the sample recorded periodically for one month.

A Brief Review on Fundamentals of Conductive Polymer (CPs) 导电性聚合物(CPs)基本原理综述

Polymers are huge compounds made up of numerous monomers (repeatedsubunits). They have similar macro and micro properties, as well aselectrical transport qualities, semiconductive capabilities, and opticalfeatures. With the advent of conductive polyacetylene, conductivepolymers have gotten a lot of interest. These conductors have a wide rangeof electrical conductivity, which may be produced by doping, while beingmechanically flexible and having a high thermal stability. Polymers may becreated using a variety of methods, including chemical and electrochemicalpolymerization. With advancement in material stability and greaterproperty control, an increasing variety of new applications are now beinginvestigated.

Extraction of Dyes from Sunflower Petal and Their Fourier Transform Infrared Characterization 向日葵花瓣中染料的提取及其傅里叶变换红外表征

Three solvents of different polarities (water, methanol and 1% NaOHsolution) were used to extract dyes that produced different shades fromdried sunflower (Helianthus annuus) petal. The extraction proceduresusing different solvent types were carried out separately. The dye extractswere thereafter subjected to Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometry(FT-IR) analysis for characterization in terms of functional groups. Theintensities of the extracted dyes on the shade of colours obtained on piecesof cotton material varied from yellow in methanolic extract to light yellowin aqueous and black in 1% NaOH solution extracts. The results obtainedfrom the FT-IR analysis revealed the presence of several useful functionalgroups such as N-H, C=H, O-H and C=O in the extracts.

Research on Relationships between the Pigment of Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes Frescoes and Ecological Microorganism 敦煌莫高窟壁画颜料与生态微生物的关系研究

Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes is one of the largest art treasures in the world. She has a large number of murals, sculptures, beautiful and vivid; There are precious Buddhist scriptures, documents, noble and elegant. Spanning more than 1,600 years, the Mogao Grottoes show the world the extensive and profound Chinese culture with a long history. But over time, the murals in the Mogao Grottoes have also changed a lot. Thousands of years of wind and rain erosion, changes in the surrounding environment, and the influence of various biological communities have caused serious color changes and fading of murals in Mogao Grottoes. To slow down the color change of Dunhuang frescoes, protection measures should be taken from the perspective of ecological microorganisms. At present, Cladosporium, Planococcus, Phoma, Chaetomium, and other strains have caused serious discoloration or discoloration of murals to a certain extent. This paper studies the main color of Dunhuang frescoes, red, and summarizes the discoloration factors and mechanism of red lead. On this level, one should try to keep the murals and control the indoor temperature. Humidity, people, and other factors slow the fading of the murals. But these are often insufficient to protect the integrity of the murals, so we have conducted a review of the literature to provide an updated overview of the available evidence on the subject.

Study of Hydrophilic Properties of Polysaccharides 多糖的亲水性研究

In this research, the structural characteristics, specific surface area, sorption of water vapor, and wetting enthalpy of various polysaccharides (cellulose, hemicelluloses, starch, pectin, chitin, and chitosan) have been studied. It was confirmed that crystallites are inaccessible for water, and therefore water molecules can interact only with polar groups in noncrystalline (amorphous) domains of biopolymers. The isotherms of water vapor sorption for various polysaccharides had sigmoid shapes, which can be explained by the absorption of water molecules in heterogeneous amorphous domains having clusters with different packing densities. The method of contributions of polar groups to sorption of water molecules was used, which allowed to derivate a simple calculating equation to describe the shape of sorption isotherms. The wetting of biopolymers with water was accompanied by a high exothermic thermal effect, in direct proportion to the amorphicity degree. The sorption values and wetting enthalpies of amorphous domains of biopolymers were calculated, which allowed to find the hydrophilicity index and compare the hydrophilicity of the various polysaccharides.

AC Impedance and FTIR Studies of PVA-ZnCl2 Based Solid Polymer Electrolytes PVA-ZnCl2基固体聚合物电解质的交流阻抗和FTIR研究

Solid Polymer electrolytes (SPEs) comprising of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA)added Zinc chloride (ZnCl2) systems have been prepared via solvent castingtechnique. The prepared samples have been subjected to AC impedancespectroscopic analysis and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR)studies. Maximum ionic conductivity of 3.91949*10-7 Scm-1 was achievedfor 60 wt% of PVA and 40wt% of ZnCl2 system at room temperature.The structural changes and hence the complex formation between theconstituents used in the present study has been confirmed through FTIRanalysis.

Thermo-oxidative Oligomerization of Aromatic Diamine 芳香二胺的热氧化低聚反应

Molecular spectroscopy (electronic, FT-IR, NMR), methods of thermal and elemental analysis were used for the first time to describe the process of thermo-oxidative oligomerization of 1,3-bis-(4-aminophenoxy)benzene. Introduction of this monomer into linear and network copolymers makes it possible to improve processability, mechanical strength and heat resistance of materials. The structures of copolymers obtained by thermo-oxidation of the diamine in various thermal regimes were studied. It was demonstrated that during prolonged heating of this diamine in air in the temperature range from 220 to 320°C, oligomeric aromatic diamines were formed; these products contained fragments of benzenoid and quinoid types.

There are different types of V-belts available,and Transmission Belts are one of them. Transmission V-Belt is the first invented non-metallic belts. Nowadays V-belts are used in various conditions, especially high-power transmission. These V-belts are finding their importance in many heavy industries. One of the good features of this type belt is no slippage occurs during the run. NR and SBR have used elastomers and can act as a base rubber material for this purpose. This study includes the compounding improvement for transmission V-Belts with NR and SBR rubber blends. There were so many numbers of failures in different ways during the initial research. Product failure methods and effect analysis (PFMA) have done by testing the belts multiple times and it has found that the major factors for the failure and less durability were excessive heat build-up (HBU) and poor fatigue resistance, poor crack initiation and growth, the resistance of the materials. So, initially reduction of HBU has successfully made in many steps by studying the properties of various compounds with a different type of fillers combinations, rubber combinations, curing systems variations etc. We have also improved the adhesion strength with cord and fabrics. Initially, we have taken one compound showing better properties in all aspects and have taken Belt Trial. And after some more improvement, we have found a compound showing better properties in all the cases than first trial and regular trials.By using that compound, we have developed Belts and showing better durability than earlier experiments and regular production.

Impact of Mixed Fillers on the Physico-mechanical Properties of Flexible Polyether Foam 混合填料对柔性聚醚泡沫物理力学性能的影响

The effect of proportional blend of periwinkle and African star apple seed shell as bio-fillers in flexible polyether foam was studied. Flexible polyether foam samples incorporated with these bio-fillers at varying percentages; 10% (S1), 20% (S2), 30% (S3), 40% (S4) and 50% (S5) were produced respectively, while 0% (S0) which had no filler was used as control during the experiment. The mechanical properties of the produced foam samples were determined via density, compression set, indentation hardness, tensile strength and elongation at break tests. The cream time, rise time and height of the foam as parameters for characterising the produced foam samples were determined too. Flammability test was also carried out.The microstructure of the foam samples was analysed as well by using the scanning electron microscope. The results of the experiment showed that the density of the foam samples progressively increased from 19.20 (S0) – 26.45 (S5) as the quantity of the filler increased. The indentation hardness result also showed an increase on addition of the filler. The foam’s loading ability also increased on incorporation of the filler but S3 showed remarkable recovery after compression. The tensile strength and elongation at break of the foam decreased on addition of the filler. The morphological analysis ascertained the effect of the progressive introduction of the filler on the surface morphology of the foam. The flammability of the foam was found to decrease as the filler load increased. Since these fillers are of organic origin, readily available, cheap and eco-friendly, they provide a means of making biodegradable foam, and reducing the flammability of foam. Thus, reducing environmental pollution whilst enhancing the mechanical property of foam.

Allyl glycidyl ether-modified animal glue binder for improved water resistance and bonding strength in sand casting 烯丙基缩水甘油酯醚改性动物胶粘合剂,用于提高砂型铸造的耐水性和粘接强度

This paper aims to develop a modified animal glue sand binder for foundry casting with improved water resistance and bonding strength. An efficient method is reported by using sodium hydroxide as the catalyst to improve the operability of animal glue binder and allyl glycidyl ether as the modifier to improve the water resistance and bonding strength. Sand specimens prepared using allyl glycidyl ether-modified animal glue binder were cured by compressed air at room temperature. The proposed method saves energy and is environmentally friendly and inexpensive. Compared with unmodified animal glue binder, standard dog bone sand specimens with allyl glycidyl ether-modified animal glue binder had higher tensile strength of 2.58 MPa, flowability of 1.95 g, better water resistance (a lower decrease in tensile strength at 25 °C and relative humidity of 60%), and good collapsibility. This allyl glycidyl ether-modified animal glue binder is suitable for practical application in the foundry industry.
