Student motivation can be enhanced by positive social interactions, which can be found in CoPs (Communities of Practice), they're based on the idea of interacting to improve a shared practice. The community offers the ability to move beyond simple information exchange to meaningful knowledge exchange through a set of responsibilities and tasks. This paper presents a description of a CoP of higher education students in a traditional curriculum, as well as the design of an online environment used as a support to this CoP, including community interactions using a social networking tool and creating community memory using the CBR approach for knowledge reuse.

Engagement is one of the important key of success in academic process, the present article aims to model the classification system of learners in Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) based on their engagement levels. In this scope, our mission is to define the notion of engagement as well as establish its different levels. This will enable us to present an approach based on indicators measurement with the application of the k-means clustering classification algorithm, in order to group the learners depending on their engagement level, which will help tutors and developers to take good decisions and minimize the dropout rate.

In the collaborative systems, in order to establish successful and protected collaboration, the trust management is first established between the participating entities and the trust score of each entity is calculated. This score is obtained based on the three trust criteria (satisfaction, reputation and recommendation) that are redefined and reused in our model: Tr-OrBAC. The evaluation of these criteria permits to select and choose the appropriate type of access to be assigned to a requester entity in the collaborative system according to its reliability. Each access type will be presented by OrBAC security rules in which we add the trust score as a new variable. The main goal of this paper is to exploit the AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) method for multi-criteria analyses in order to evaluate the trust criteria and to select the correct access type for the collaborating entities. In order to illustrate the feasibility of using AHP in Tr-OrBAC for taking the collaboration decision, we apply this solution in the Electrical Grid as a Critical Infrastructure case study.

The aim of this paper is to present the adaptive learning system called ALS_CORR[LP]1. This system belongs to a very specific class of the e-learning systems, which is the adaptive learning ones. In fact they have the ability to adapt the learning process according to each learner needs, learning styles, objectives, etc. ALS_CORR[LP] is based on the learner prerequisites and the learning styles of Felder-Silverman, to design the learner model. As for the domain model, it is designed according to the recommendations of the differentiated pedagogy, which advocates creating multiple versions of the same learning object. Finally in order to ensure the adaptation inside the system, a Bayesian network, to match the designed learning object with the specifics of the learner profile was developed. It is also necessary to emphasize, that the major feature of the system is, its ability to correct the generated learning path in case of a failure in the evaluation phase. The learning path relevance is questioned, based on a recommendation system which enables updating the initial profile, or recommending the most relevant versions of the learning object, in case where the similarity calculation in behavior, reveals that the observed behavior in the system does not fit the initial profile description.

Project portfolio management information systems (PPMIS) can have a significant impact on the operation and development of a company. Therefore, the selection of one or more PPMIS of all possible is an important and difficult task for decision makers. The variety of functionalities and features offered, and changes in the needs of each organization, make the prioritization of an appropriate PPMIS a complicated multi-criteria decision problem. The complexity of the problem is increased by the multiplicity of actors involved in the prioritization process. These multi stakeholders often cannot accurately assess their preferences judgment of candidate PPMIS. To meet these limitations, this paper presents one of PPMIS prioritization approach that applies an information entropy method. This approach takes into account the imprecision of data and the uncertainty of the judgments of assessor's when evaluating PPMIS for the needs of the organization. The approach is demonstrated through a case study to support the organization to prioritize and select a suitable PPMIS.

This paper presents a description of the approach of the UPC-USMBA team for addressing Community Question Answering, for the Arabic language on the medical domain. Our approach for addressing the task is based on combining the use of original Arabic texts with English translations over which supervised Machine Learning techniques are applied. Our system perform on four steps: A preliminary step, aiming to collect domain resources, a learning step, for getting two models, one over Arabic texts and the other on English texts, a classification step, for applying them to the test datasets, and, finally a combination step over the results of the two classifiers.

In distance learning platforms the training is adapted to each learner's cognitive profile. It combined between the individualization of course units according to each learner and the collaboration between learners themselves and tutors. However, teachers no longer have direct contact with learners that allow them to assess their evolution. Hence the importance of integrating the tracking of learners in distance learning platforms and develop the space dedicated to the tutor saw the efficient role he plays in supporting learners in their learning paths. We are interested in particular to collect learners' activities' traces from Moodle platform and transform them, in order to calculate activities' indicators that will give us an idea about learners' results to address the lack of feedback between learners and tutors.

3D segmentation and its performance evaluation play a crucial role in computer vision. Due to its importance, much effort has been consecrated to the segmentation process in the last decades. Consequently, the development of reasonable criteria for evaluating and comparing the performance of segmentation algorithms has become a major challenge in the area. In this work, we propose a new method for evaluating 3D segmentation algorithms. Our proposed approach is based on sampling theory to calculate a score of dissimilarity between an automatic and ground truth segmentations. Real experiments demonstrate the usability and efficiency of the proposed approach.

A multimedia wireless sensor network, a routing protocol plays an important role in saving the limited resources of sensors. It allows a node to transmit a multimedia content to the sink node, an image in our case. Also, WMSN are used in Internet of Things to serv different purposes in order to make our world smarter. In this paper, we are going to use the Castalia simulator to test different configurations of leach routing protocol. The aim of these tests is to determine how we can transmit high resolution images through network with minimum energy consumption. Using the frequential image représentation. Also, we are going to simulate the application of IoT which is a surveillance application.

The step of mining frequent itemsets in database is the essential step and most expensive in the process of mining association rules in data mining task, many algorithms of mining frequent itemsets have been proposed to improve the performance of Apriori Algorithm. In this paper, we have introduced an optimization in the phase of generation pruning of candidates by a new strategy for the calculation of frequent itemsets based on approximate values of supports exact the itemsets. We have evaluated our algorithm AprioriMin against three popular frequent itemsets mining algorithms - Apriori and FP-growth, Close using two data sets with a variety of minimum support.
