Crowdsourced employer branding: an analysis from the platform glassdoor 众包雇主品牌:来自glassdoor平台的分析

Purpose: The present study aims to evaluate the aspects of organizational climate and culture from the voluntary contributions published in the Crowdsourced Employer Branding Glassdoor.Design/methodology: Methodologically, this is an applied, descriptive longitudinal retrospective research, with a quantitative and qualitative approach to data, whose collection took place by means of a technical survey procedure with interpretative analysis of Glassdoor users' statements. The sample was composed of 5 companies from the technological sector located in the city of Florianópolis-SC.Findings: The study investigates the organizational culture from the observations obtained on Glassdoor, verify the difference in averages between Culture and General Note of the companies observed, the perception of climate from the manifestations in favor or against the practices of the organization and relate the culture and organizational climate of the sample studied.Originality/value: Theoretically, the study points out the possibilities of evaluating the organizational climate and culture through Crowdsourced Employer Branding platforms and that the "culture" factor is a determining factor for the positive or negative evaluation of a company. In relation to practical contributions, it can be seen that the study contributes to the decision of candidates about which companies to work for. In addition, it brings the importance of companies developing a good culture and maintaining a good organizational climate. Considering that this information is accessible to people on the internet.

Career management in digital age: a study of leadership’s competencies and practices applied for IT professionals 数字时代的职业管理:IT专业人士的领导能力和实践研究

Purpose: this research seeks to identify the main competencies and career management practices applied by leaders of large IT services organizations, highlighting them in degrees of relevance for career guidance for technical teams between Generations X and Y coexisting in the Digital Age. Additionally, the research factors a major transformation in the work relationships environment, turning to the full remote mode, besides the digital acceleration caused by the coronavirus pandemic in Brazil during 2020.Design/Methodology/approach: the research was carried out with a qualitative methodology, with in-depth interviews with a semi-structured script, portraying the experiences of top leaders.Findings: highlights as relevant competencies: the importance of the manager's role as to career guidance, management skills of generational expectations, leadership style oriented to the knowledge worker, besides the affiliative aspects in the relationship with the employees. As for management practices, highlights: training diagnostic, frequent communication, promotion of talents with high potential, adaptation of career plans, adoption of a differentiated coaching process for each generation and, above all, encouragement of the employee's protagonism throughout the career planning process.Research limitations: the study has limitations regarding companies’ profiles with restricted instruments related to human resources’ methodologies, proper people’s development tools, or internal support developing talent and minimum maturity processes for managers leading career development counting with Information Technology business orientation in Brazil.Originality/value: significant contribution regarding career management in a remote work environment with 2 generations co-existing in an accelerated digitalization season.

Safety culture maturity at work in a plastic packaging factory 某塑料包装厂的安全文化成熟度

Purpose: This study aims at analyzing the stage of the safety culture maturity at work in the logistics sector of a flexible plastic packaging company located in the South of Minas Gerais. This research aims to answer the following question: what is the stage of the safety culture maturity at work in Alfa’s organization unit?Design/methodology/approach: The research is characterized as descriptive and quantitative. The method used is the survey, based on a questionnaire developed by Gonçalves Filho, Andrade and Marinho (2011). The study sample consisted of 32 operational employees and three managers responsible for occupational safety in the sector. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, based on relative frequency.Findings: It was observed that the information, communication, and commitment factors are in the constructive stage, in the highest maturity level of the safety culture at work. The other factors are in the proactive stage, transitory to the constructive stage. There is an efficient management system for work security and an effective workplace safety culture.Originality/value: This research sought to contribute to the discussion on the maturity of the safety culture at work, due to the scarcity of research in the plastics industrial sector. The research analyzes the organization's logistics sector, the sector that has the highest incidence of accidents, allowing comparisons between the perception of the shop floor and the management.

A process management benchmarking model for higher education institutions 高等教育机构流程管理基准模型

Purpose: This research presents a multicriteria benchmarking participatory model able to classify Federal Higher Education Institutions (FHEIs) into three levels of process management maturity.Design/methodology/approach: The research was conducted into three stages: (i) assessment model development using the Delphi technique, (ii) data collection through a self-assessment process, and (iii) classification of the FHEIs using PROMSORT.Findings: The results showed that, regardless of the adoption of an optimistic or pessimistic perspective, most FHEIs (51.6% in the optimistic perspective and 54.8% in the pessimistic one) were classified as regular. It is also noteworthy that approximately 80% of the research participating FHEIs maintained their classifications in the sensitivity analysis. Among the six alternatives that presented classification variations, only three varied significantly, confirming the results obtained stability.Research limitations/implications: The use of a participatory approach promotes a consistent benchmark in terms of indicators and metrics to measure performances.Practical implications: PROMSORT provided flexibility to the model, since it is possible to modify the parameters and thresholds in order to adjust the model strictness.Originality/value: The development of a model through which the Federal Higher Education Institutions (FHEIs) can be continually evaluate their process management maturity level.

The influence of green fashion products on the achievement of the 12 Sustainable Development Goals for masters and doctoral students 绿色时尚产品对硕士生和博士生实现12项可持续发展目标的影响

Objective: Agenda 2030 encourages sustainable production and consumption through the SDG 12. In this case, the objective of the present study was to analyze how masters and doctoral students consume fashion products, what their conception about products of the circular economy and how this behavior can contribute to the reach of the SDG 12.Metodology: This is a descriptive and quantitative research with a data collection instrument based on questionnaires, examined using the non-parametric chi-square test to verify the existence of a relationship between the variables according to gender.Discoveries: Identified that the lack of knowledge of society and students about the subject and price of green products is the main challenge the CE faces. In addition, the reduction of pollution and waste was pointed out by the participants as one of the main influencers in the green products consumption. Regarding the knowledge of Agenda 2030 and SDGs, 91.18% demonstrated knowledge. 37.3% of the respondents are not willing to pay more for the purchase of green products.Research implications: This study contributes to the literature by extending information on sustainability and consumption and SDG12 in IHE students, focusing specifically on masters and doctoral students.Practical implications: Studies on perceptions and practices of green product consumption is important and can contribute to the awareness of higher education students and contribute to the achievement of the SDG12.Originality: This is an innovative study that can serve as a research agenda model for other IHEs and contribute to Agenda 2030 SDG12.

Racism against immigrants in Brazil: a critical analysis of employers' discourse 巴西对移民的种族主义:对雇主话语的批判性分析

Objective: This article investigates the discursive representations related to racism of Brazilian employers and human resource managers on hired immigrant workers.Theoretical framework: The socio-cognitive theory proposed by Van Dijk is presented together with studies on discursive representations of immigrants.Methodology: The qualitative research used semi-structured interviews with 12 employers in the cities of São Paulo, Belo Horizonte and Porto Alegre. Data analysis was based on critical discourse analysis (CDA), on Van Dijk's socio cognitive approach.Results: The research showed that the employers' discourse is based on the assumptions that the immigrant workers: i) are more efficient than Brazilians; ii) subject themselves to any kind of work; iii) are destined for unqualified and hard work; iv) threaten Brazilians (different cultural identities; different community values; may be criminals; are disease spreaders); and v) are an economic burden. The Brazilian employer´s discourse maintains and perpetuates all the characteristics of the racist ideology and makes it difficult for immigrants to enter the Brazilian labour market, forging domination practices that favour social inequality.Originality: This study contributes to broaden the CDA scope of analysis when investigating employers and immigrants. Sustainable consumption in the clothing segment: a comparative study between Brazilians and Germans 服装领域的可持续消费:巴西人和德国人的比较研究

Objective – To Analyze and compare sustainable consumption habits in the clothing segment between Brazilians and Germans.Design/methodology/approach– Descriptive, exploratory, and qualitative research. Interviews were conducted with 15 Germans and 15 Brazilians, aged between 20 and 32 years old, in order to identify consumption habits in the clothing segment, familiarity with the theme: sustainable consumption , and levels of personal awareness regarding their consumption behavior, applying the content analysis based on Bardin (2011) as a technique.Findings – A significant difference between the two groups was found. While Germans presented greater knowledge on the subject, which was converted into embracing sustainable conduct in the clothing segment, Brazilians demonstrated to have a more superficial knowledge, besides presenting lower levels of awareness in their consumption and sustainable practices in the analyzed segment. Therefore, it concludes that Germans have greater access to information on the theme and more interest and familiarity with the subject. Consequently, it showed that it influences their consumption behavior, presenting habits towards environmental, social, and economic concerns in the clothing segment, habits that were not identified in the Brazilian sample group.Originality/value (mandatory) – It contributes by providing an opportunity to comparatively analyze the habits and consumption of two distinct countries, helping entrepreneurs and managers to understand the market segments better and create more powerful strategies, focusing on the value perceived by the customer in the acts of consumption.

Purpose – What motivates Sao Paulo citizens to use bicycles as a mode of transportation? To answer this question, we conceptually rely on the Goal-Framing Theory (Lindenberg, 2000), which seeks to understand how individual choices are made, and exogeneous variables such as climate and temperature which might influence in this decision.Design/methodology/approach – Empirically, we conduct a quantitative study, relying on primary data from 252 respondents and analyzed by means of logistic regression models, through which we obtained the likelihood of using bikes and the relative weights of each of the variables defined in our theoretical section.Findings – What motivates Sao Paulo residents are not economic reasons, but rather normative (doing what is right) or hedonic (the pursuit of personal satisfaction) aspects. In other words, we demonstrate that cyclists make this choice to comply with a norm, seeking for benefits to the environment and directly or indirectly to society, as opposed to benefitting individually from this decision.Practical implications – The research has implication for public policies.Originality/value – The study is one of the first to empirically test the Goal Framing Theory  (Lindenberg,  2000) and, as far as we could tell, the first to assess the motivations for the use of bicycles as a means of transportation in Brazil and in Latin America.

Finalidade - O presente estudo objetivou analisar a relação entre desemprego e empreendedorismo no Brasil, no período de 2016 a 2021, com enfoque na pandemia da COVID-19.Design/metodologia/abordagem - Trata-se de pesquisa quantitativa, descritiva, utilizando o método de levantamento, através das bases de dados do IBGE, do GEM e do Portal do Empreendedor. Os dados foram tratados por meio da estatística descritiva e inferencial.Descobertas - Constatou-se um comportamento de crescimento, ao longo do tempo, com mais ênfase no período pandêmico, com aumento de 14% de desemprego, 23% de empreendedorismo inicial e 94% de MEIs ativos. Entretanto, o desemprego e o empreendedorismo inicial apresentaram baixa associação, demonstrando que o empreendedorismo no Brasil sofre relações muito mais importantes com outros fatores. Por outro lado, o empreendedorismo inicial e o número de MEIs ativos apresentaram forte relação, a ponto de, a cada 5 novos empreendedores iniciais no mercado brasileiro, ter-se a formalização de 1 MEI ativo.Limitações - Utilização apenas da pesquisa quantitativa, desconsiderando o uso de análises qualitativas, que possibilitariam identificar os fatores que realmente influenciam no empreendedorismo.Originalidade/valor - A pesquisa trouxe como grande descoberta que não há relação entre desemprego e empreendedorismo no período pandêmico no Brasil, diferentemente de análises científicas e profissionais anteriores que afirmam haver tal vínculo, abrindo, portanto, uma nova visão sobre as motivações de empreender no país.

Association between risk disclosure and (in) existence of corporate reputation of publicly traded companies in Brazil 风险披露与巴西上市公司存在的企业声誉之间的关系

Purpose - To analyze the possible association between non-financial risk disclosure and the (in) existence of reputation in the most prominent Brazilian publicly traded companies considering the legitimacy theory.Design/methodology/approach - The sample assembles 118 corporations listed on B3 and 345 reference forms from 2006 to 2018. In the analysis of corporate reputation, the presence or absence on ISE and, or ICO2 from B3 was considered. For non-financial risk disclosure, a factor checklist containing 31 risks was taken, categorized under operational, damage, integrity, and strategic risks, from the analysis of Reference Forms. A tree regression, a multiple correspondence analysis, and a T-test of the difference between means were used for data analysis.Findings - There is scientific evidence that the companies with reputations demonstrate non-financial risk disclosure superior to the others. This behavior is confirmed in the subcategories of integrity and strategic risks. Moreover, risk factors in the subcategory of integrity risks were crucial to non-financial risk disclosure.Originality/value - This research paves the way to deepen the early debate surrounding risk disclosure and corporate reputation, especially regarding the quality of non-financial risk disclosure.
