The purpose of this article is to examine the role of school-based extracurricular initiatives in facilitating immediate and long-term positive impacts on physical activity, healthy behavior, and obesity in children. A critique of the role of various sports-related initiatives that have been developed to address the obesity epidemic currently facing children within the United States is provided, with a specific emphasis on intramural sports as a preferred mechanism to encourage long-term involvement in sport and physically active pursuits. The article presents support for the notion that a physical education curriculum that includes intramurals before, during, and after school can help children learn the skills to enjoy participation in a variety of sports designed to facilitate lifelong active living.

The study was geared towards the usability of assistive technologies for learners with hearing impairment. Descriptive research of the Survey design was adopted. The sample comprised of one hundred and ten hearing impaired students of Federal College of Education (Special) Oyo. An adopted checklist and a structured questionnaire were utilized in collecting data while simple percentages, mean standard deviation, and t-test was used to analyze the data collected. The results of the study indicated that assistive technologies in FCE (SP) Oyo are generally available and functional; the use of assistive technologies among the learners with hearing impairment in FCE (SP) Oyo is high. Also, the result indicated that learners with hearing impairment in FCE (SP) Oyo have a positive attitude towards the use of assistive technologies.  There was no significant difference between male and female learners with hearing impairment in the use of assistive technologies in FCE (SP) Oyo. It was recommended among others that learners with hearing impairment should be encouraged to adopt the ultimate use of assistive technologies.

Education is for everyone. This indicates that everyone deserves access to education either in urban areas or urban areas. The purpose of this study is to describe the handling of the Social Inclusive Education Project (SIEP) community for children with special needs in rural areas. Data collection techniques are used for observations and interviews with SIEP founders and volunteers. The results show that the SIEP community has carried out various treatments for special needs children in rural areas. An assessment was run by the volunteers before carried out the treatment. The handling is carried out after making the Individualized Education Program for each child with special needs, including down syndrome, motor barriers, specific learning difficulties, visual impairments, and speech delays. The children with special needs are given treatment according to the child's needs such as training to memorize the Qur’an, training in prayer procedures, the introduction of numbers and letters, training in pronunciation of vowels, reading storybooks, writing training, and swimming training. The effort and aid carried out by the SIEP community for children with special needs in rural areas are expected to be a reference for volunteering activities for children with special needs in Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, and other countries in the world.

Children with intellectual disabilities are children who experience delays in the development of intelligence, they experience various kinds of obstacles. Therefore, children with intellectual disabilities are less able to be developed their academic learning and require development in other learning, namely in learning skills, one of which is learning the skills of making Indonesian traditional food "Opak Bakar". The skill of making “Opak Bakar” is taught in schools. This study aims to determine the ability to make Indonesian traditional food “Opak Bakar” skills in class X children with intellectual disabilities. Following the objectives to be achieved, this study used a descriptive method with a qualitative approach, data obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. This research was conducted on 3 children with intellectual disabilities and 1 class X skills teacher. One of the theories that underlie this research is the task analysis theory. The results showed that mild children with intellectual disabilities were able to make grilled “Opak Bakar”, which started by washing rice, making glutinous rice, adding rice flour, drying opak, and burning “Opak Bakar”. Some children find it difficult to mix the glutinous rice, print the glutinous rice into a rectangle, cut the “Opak Bakar” thin and rectangular shape and determine the color of the Indonesian traditional food “Opak Bakar”. This study recommends that schools complete skills teaching aids that are following the types of skills programs in schools.

The goal of this study was to look at the issues of anticipating and reducing stress caused by changes in a person's life (patient). This study looked at patient narratives as one of the most effective types of psychotherapeutic work with adults, especially work geared at masculine development. We paid specific attention to the issues with signal metaphors and psychological transformation triggers. The research technique was based on a theoretical understanding of the issues of anticipating and reducing the stress of life changes (patient). The key findings of this study revealed that the patient overcome liminality or estrangement from himself and the world. In a person's life, a metaphor serves as both a signal and a trigger for change. Then, its use, in one way or another, discloses zones that are vulnerable to change and encourages change. Metaphors can be found in a variety of archetypal frameworks as well as specific role model metaphors. They allow you to assess the patient's internal movement toward the achievement of a specific motivation or intention, encourage upward and/or slow down downward goals, and understand how the patient perceives external changes and how he reacts to change stress.

They allow you to assess the patient's internal movement toward the achievement of a specific motivation or intention, encourage upward and/or slow down downward goals, and understand how the patient perceives external changes and how he reacts to change stress.","PeriodicalId":197783,"journal":{"name":"Indonesian Journal of Community and Special Needs Education","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129074780","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
