Municipal COVID-19 Epidemiological Response: Level of Satisfaction among Households in Esperanza, Sultan Kudarat 城市COVID-19流行病学应对:苏丹库达拉特埃斯佩朗萨家庭满意度

This study was carried out to statistically quantify the level of satisfaction among residents in Esperanza, Sultan Kudarat, and the level of effectivity of the municipal COVID- 19 epidemiological response team on COVID- 19 response. In the Philippines, from the initial studies and information about the nature and behavior of the virus, the government settles on a plan of action around what mitigation strategies and control measures to implement. This present study was conducted to find out the level of satisfaction among the 30 selected respondents from seven reachable rural barangay in Esperanza, the Philippines in terms of food support, public health and safety protocols, as well as news and updates dissemination. Based on the result of the study, the level of effectiveness in terms of food support, implementation of public health and safety protocols, as well as news and updates dissemination is described as satisfied. It implies that the municipal COVID-19 epidemiological response team is effective. The result of this study will create a huge impact in the field of COVID-19 response in the Philippines, making the government aware of their plans such as mitigation strategies and control measures implemented, knowing the sentiments of the Filipino citizen amid a pandemic.

Implementation of Early Intervention with Family Resourced to Improve Development of Expressive Language in Children with Cerebral Palsy 家庭资源早期干预对脑瘫儿童表达性语言发展的促进作用

The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of early intervention with family resources to improve expressive language development in children with cerebral palsy. Early intervention with family resources is carried out on children with cerebral palsy who have problems in the development of their expressive language, so the communication method used is augmentation using alternative and augmentative communication tools called ASIK (I'm Ready to Communicate). This research method uses experiments, starting from modelling, transfer by parents, so that parents can independently intervene with their children. The results showed that children can express their desires by showing pictures that are in accordance with the wishes of their parents, so that parents can understand what their children want. Based on these results, the implementation of early intervention with family resources using ASIK communication tools can improve the development of expressive language in children with cerebral palsy.
本研究旨在探讨利用家庭资源实施早期干预对脑瘫儿童表达性语言发展的促进作用。对在表达性语言发展方面存在问题的脑瘫儿童进行家庭资源的早期干预,因此使用的沟通方法是增强,使用称为ASIK (I'm Ready to communication)的替代和增强沟通工具。本研究方法采用实验方式,从建模入手,由家长转移,让家长自主干预孩子。结果表明,孩子可以通过展示符合父母意愿的图片来表达自己的愿望,这样父母就能理解孩子想要什么。基于这些结果,使用ASIK沟通工具的家庭资源进行早期干预可以促进脑瘫儿童表达性语言的发展。

Assessment of Mathematical Abilities of Students with Intellectual Disabilities During the COVID-19 Pandemic 新冠肺炎疫情期间智障学生数学能力评估

The purpose of this study was assess of mathematical abilities of students with intellectual disabilities during the CoVID-19 Pandemic. The subjects of this study were 5 children with intellectual disabilities in a special school, in West Java, Indonesia. The method used descriptive quantitative method. The stages of the activity process carried out were by formulating instruments, determining subjects, conducting assessments, and analyzing data. Differences in assessment during the pandemic involved teachers and parents. The results showed that most students with intellectual disabilities have problems in the aspect of mathematical abilities. This is because students with intellectual disabilities had problems understanding abstract and complex concepts. They had problems in various aspects of perception. In the learning process, students with intellectual disabilities needed concrete media. Concrete media made it easier for students to understand learning material, especially students with intellectual barriers who are at the concrete learning stage. The results of the assessment used as the basis for making mathematics learning programs for students.

Attitude of Hearing Impaired Students Towards Assistive Technology Utilization in Oyo State Adopting the Survey Method 采用调查法了解Oyo州听障学生对辅助技术使用的态度

This study examined attitude of hearing-impaired students towards assistive technology utilization for learning and its gender’ influence. The study adopted the descriptive research type. mean and t-test were used for the research. The findings established that Students with hearing impairments were enthusiastic about using hearing assistive equipment in the classroom. This implies that positive attitude of students towards the use of the assistive technologies will influence their utilization of such technologies for learning. As a result, it was however recommended that schools hire Educational Technologists who can help with the appropriate use of assistive technology tools to enhance classroom instruction.
本研究考察了听障学生对使用辅助技术学习的态度及其性别的影响。本研究采用描述性研究类型。本研究采用均值检验和t检验。调查结果表明,有听力障碍的学生对在课堂上使用助听设备很感兴趣。这意味着学生对使用辅助技术的积极态度将影响他们对这些技术的学习利用。因此,建议学校聘请教育技术专家,他们可以帮助适当使用辅助技术工具来加强课堂教学。

Motorcycle Child Seat for Child with Special needs: Its Design Process and Problem-based Learning 特殊需要儿童摩托车座椅的设计过程与问题学习

Most of child safety seats for motorcycle available in Indonesian market do not provide enough safety for the children passenger, especially for special needs child. This makes a special needs child cannot ride a motorcycle and prefer to use an automobile for their transportation means. However, it becomes a problem for a low-income family that can only afford a motorcycle. To address this problem, the present work aims to i) design a portable child safety seat for those with special needs that can be placed at the back side of the motorcycle, ii) provide safety feeling to the child by making a capsule-like shape for overall protection, iii) demonstrate an education case-study for mechanical design course. Discussion on how to determine the specification based on problem definition as well as the explanation on the design process of seat’s frame and body are provided. This work can be also used a reference for problem-based learning in mechanical engineering design course.

Diving Deeper on Their Realms: The Prominence of Education on Street Children 深入他们的领域:流浪儿童教育的重要性

This study looks at the lives of children after accessing education, the assistance provided, and the efficiency of education at the heart of the classroom. This study aims to answer the following questions about street children: (i) How can they go to school and learn despite the challenges of being street children?; (ii) What programs are available to help them?; (iii) To what extent can these programs be provided to children?; and (iv) When taking to the streets. This study used a qualitative method by conducting interviews with five children aged 10-15 years who came from the city of Tacurong, the Philippines. Some street children continue their education despite all their limitations, some other children take to the streets to find additional money with the knowledge of their parents, and the amount of money they bring home is barely enough or only sufficient, and some programs reach those who are less able. In short, street children are aware of the importance of learning, they have dreams and many are trying to achieve them in any way they can - even if it means risking their lives to beg for alms on the streets. Since this study proves how important education is for these children, this study provides a better scope for us to look at children that are roaming the streets to achieve their dreams and programs.

The purpose of this study is to describe the concept of basic dimensions of space and environment for persons with disabilities. This research was made by conducting a literature review. The results of the study were taken by taking data from the literature. The data is then processed to be presented in the form of an explanation that can be easily understood. Therefore, it is hoped that the research results can be used as a reference for the construction of buildings and the environment, especially for buildings in hospitals, schools, and public facilities for people with special needs (i.e. wheelchairs, crutches, and canes for the blind).

This study’s purpose is to describe the importance of tone indicators in computer-mediated communication through gathering the opinions of high school students. This study employed a generic qualitative approach that allowed us to comprehend five students' perspectives on tone indicators. A thematic analysis helped us to identify significant statements, generate initial themes, formulate, and name relevant themes. The results showed that the participants of the study are not fully aware of tone indicators. In fact, the tone indicators are important, especially facing the problems and applying for facing special needs people. Their narratives indicate that misidentified tones of messages stimulate preconceptions to form in the minds of virtual readers, leading to miscommunication. The students expressed relief, enlightenment, and approval upon the introduction and application of tone indicators. They described the roles of tone indicators as tools to make messages clear. Therefore, tone indicators hold relevance in computer-mediated communication. This study promotes tone indicators awareness and tranquility in online communication.

Handwashing Ability Assessment for Students with Intellectual Barriers 智力障碍学生洗手能力评估

This study aimed to determine the assessment of the ability to wash hands for students with intellectual disabilities. We used a qualitative method with literature study activities and field studies (interviews, observations, and documentation). The results showed that the assessment of the ability to wash hands for students with intellectual disabilities was carried out in stages, namely making assessment instruments, determining subjects, preparing the necessary equipment, conducting assessments, and analyzing data from the assessment results. The activity of assessing the ability to wash hands for students with intellectual disabilities has the aim of knowing the weaknesses, strengths, and potential of students in the ability to wash hands. It is hoped that the results of this assessment can be used as a basis for making hand-washing learning programs for students with special needs, especially students with intellectual disabilities.
本研究旨在确定对智障学生洗手能力的评估。我们采用了定性方法,包括文献研究活动和实地研究(访谈、观察和文献记录)。结果表明,对智障学生洗手能力的评估是分阶段进行的,即制作评估工具、确定科目、准备必要的设备、进行评估、对评估结果进行数据分析。智力残疾学生洗手能力评估活动的目的是了解学生在洗手能力方面的弱点、优势和潜力。希望本评估结果可作为制定特殊需要学生,特别是智障学生洗手学习计划的依据。

Science Education for Students with Special Needs in Indonesia: From Definition, Systematic Review, Education System, to Curriculum 印尼特殊需要学生的科学教育:从定义、系统检视、教育系统到课程

The purpose of this study is to determine the teaching, curriculum, and methods used by teachers in the science learning process for students with special needs in Indonesia. We use qualitative research methods. The subjects in this study are students with special needs (children with visual impairments, children with hearing impairments, children with intellectual disabilities, and children with physical impairments) at one of the special schools (SLB) in Kuningan, Indonesia. The results show that most of the teachers use the curriculum from teacher books provided by the government. In addition, some teachers used the lecture and question and answer method in the science learning process. The results in low student achievement because students with special needs need concrete media and methods that accommodate student needs.
本研究的目的是确定印尼教师在特殊需要学生的科学学习过程中所使用的教学、课程和方法。我们使用定性研究方法。本研究的对象是印度尼西亚库宁安一所特殊学校(SLB)的有特殊需要的学生(视力障碍儿童、听力障碍儿童、智力残疾儿童和身体障碍儿童)。结果表明,大部分教师使用政府提供的教师教材中的课程。此外,一些教师在科学学习过程中采用了讲座和问答的方法。因为有特殊需要的学生需要具体的媒体和方法来满足他们的需要,所以导致学生成绩低。
