Purpose: This study was carried out to determine the effect of mindfulness levels on the life satisfaction of nursing students.
Design and methods: A descriptive correlational study was conducted on 333 nursing students enrolled at a state university in Turkey.
Findings: The statistical analysis of the data indicated that students' mindfulness levels had a significantly positive impact on their satisfaction with life.
Implications for practice: Activities that include exercises, meditation and training geared to raise the level of mindfulness can also be beneficial in terms of increasing satisfaction with life.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine faculty members' views of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual, and intersex individuals.
Design and methods: The study sample consists of 180 faculty members who agreed to participate in the study.
Findings: The faculty members had positive attitudes towards homosexuals but were highly homophobic; furthermore, their responses to questions about their close social circle were severely homophobic.
Practice implications: It is recommended that psychiatric nurses play an active role in eliminating faculty members' lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual, and intersex-related knowledge deficiency.

Purpose: This study was conducted to determine the effect of exercise training provided based on the health promotion model on menopausal symptoms.
Design and methods: The sample size was identified as 156 women. The women who were given exercise training applied a 30-min daily exercise program for 12 weeks, while those in the control group were not trained and did not exercise.
Findings: The difference between the mean scores of the groups was statistically significant (p = 0.000).
Practice implications: Exercise training given to women in the experimental group based on a health promotion model reduced menopausal symptoms.

Purpose: The vulnerability and prevalence of common psychiatric illnesses, that is, anxiety and depression are very high at the time of pregnancy in the socio-cultural context of Southeast Asian low- middle-income countries' pregnant women. However, the issue remains poorly understood despite the fact that pregnancy can be stressful for women, their families and is strongly connected with marital quality and perceived social support. The present study examines the impact of anxiety proneness, marital satisfaction, and perceived social support on fear of childbirth and development of depression among pregnant women.
Design and methods: Participants were purposively selected 136 pregnant women who were in the third trimester with ages ranging between 19 and 35 years and were selected through a purposive sampling technique from six hospitals in Pakistan. The STICSA, RAS, MSPSS, CAQ, and PADQ scales and questionnaires were used as study tools.
Findings: Anxiety proneness positively predicted childbirth fear and depression; marital satisfaction and perceived presence of social support were negative predictors among pregnant women.
Practice implications: Obstetricians, nurses, midwives, and mental health professionals can imply these findings towards developing targeted antenatal programs that focus on the pregnant woman's mental health.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to assess the effectiveness of relaxation exercises on burden, burnout, and anxiety levels in palliative caregivers.
Design and methods: The single-group pretest-posttest design was used. The sample of the study consisted of 60 caregivers. Relaxation exercises were administered to caregivers 2 times a week for 4 weeks and 8 times. Burden, burnout, and anxiety levels were evaluated on the preinterventions and postinterventions.
Findings: The mean age of the caregivers was 43.82 ± 10.19 years. The majority of the palliative patients were diagnosed with dementia (58.3%), the duration of diagnosis was between 1 and 5 years (70.0%). It was determined that relaxation exercises reduced to caregivers' burden, burnout, and state anxiety levels (p < 0.01).
Practice implications: The study concluded that relaxation exercises had positive effect on caregivers' burden, burnout, anxiety levels.

Purpose: The aim of the study was to translate and adapt the Self-Regulatory Fatigue Scale (SRF-18) into Turkish and also demonstrate its reliability and validity in young adults.
Design and methods: A total of 181 participants completed SRF-18, Life Orientation Test-Revised (LOT-R), Brief Self-Control Scale (BSCS), and Multidimensional Fatigue Inventory (MFI). One week later 30 participants refilled SRF-18.
Findings: The internal consistency of SRF-18 was good (α = 0.710). The intraclass correlation coefficient value of the SRF-18 total score was 0.608. SRF-18 was strongly related to MFI and LOT-R (r1 = -0.632, r2 = 0.557, p < 0.001). Besides, there was a moderate relationship between SRF-18 and BSCS (r = 0.439, p < 0.001). In addition, SRF-18 had a three-factor structure.
Practice implications: The Turkish version of the SRF-18 was proven to be a valid and reliable tool.

The use of psychedelics, such as psilocybin, has emerged in recent literature as a novel therapeutic treatment for various psychiatric disorders, including substance use, depression, and anxiety. While international and domestic trials are currently underway, there is data demonstrating both the relative safety and potential efficacy of psilocybin. Psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners are essential mental health providers that may be at the forefront of delivering these new treatment modalities. Therefore, they must be aware of the psychopharmacological and psychotherapeutic tenets of psilocybin to be prepared to treat patients.

Purpose: To determine the relationship between nurses' personality traits and their perceptions of management by values, organizational justice, and turnover intention.
Design and methods: It was a descriptive study. A demographic questionnaire, the big five personality scale, the organizational justice scale, the management by values scale, and the turnover intention scale were used to collect data.
Findings: Data analysis did not demonstrate any relationship between nurses' personality traits and their perceptions of management by values, organizational justice, and turnover intention. However, results of regression analysis concluded that perceptions of management by values affected the nurses' perceptions of organizational justice positively.
Practice implications: Nurses' perceptions of organizational justice can be raised and turnover intention may be reduced by improving their perceptions of management by values.

Purposes: This study aimed to determine the perceptions of gender and honor of students (n = 427) in various health science faculties and the relationship between those perceptions.
Design and methods: An introductory information form, the Gender Roles Attitude Scale (GRAS), and the Attitude Scale for Women-Related Conception of "Honor" (ASWRCH) were used as data collection tools.
Findings: The students' average scores on GRAS and ASWRCH were 159.7 ± 23.1 and 104.1 ± 15.5, respectively, demonstrating that students had an egalitarian attitude and perception of honor.
Conclusions: Students from health science faculties, trained to provide service for healthy/sick individuals, were found to have strong egalitarian attitudes in terms of gender and perception of honor.
Practice implications: Raising health sciences students, with an egalitarian approach in terms of gender and honor perception will enable them to adopt an egalitarian attitude in their personal and professional lives and to become agents of change in initiating and sustaining social change.
