Adiabatic prereforming is a low-temperature steam reforming process used in modern syngas production. Catalyst deactivation plays an important role in design of adiabatic prereforming and the low-temperature operation requires a high-activity catalyst with resistance to poisoning. This paper presents a model for the complex interaction of chemical reactions, poisoning mechanisms and pore diffusion that results in deactivation of prereforming catalyst

CANMET coprocessing is a single-stage, once through high conversion primary upgrading process. It utilizes a slurry phase feed containing an iron-based disposable additive. This paper reports eight runs done using slurry feed containing 30% Rheinish brown coal and the vacuum towers bottoms. These runs were designed to examine the effects of slurry space velocity, reactor temperatures and recycle gas rate. The results and the application of statistical methods to analyze the experimental results are presented

This paper reports a study on which mechanism, particle-to-particle or vapor phase transport, is responsible for the mobility of vanadium in the FCC Unit. The approach used in this work is to measure the rate of vanadium transport to a basic oxide vanadium trap in fluid bed experiments. By varying the particle size distribution, the collision frequency can be changed and the rate of transport determined. Also, calculations of the mass transfer of a vapor species ina fluid are performed.
