The influence of partial discharge on crack propagation in piezoelectric materials 局部放电对压电材料裂纹扩展的影响

This paper studies the influence of partial discharge (PD) on crack propagation in piezoelectric materials under combined mechanical and electric loads. According to Stroh formalism, the electric field is obtained based on the semi-permeable electrical boundary condition inside the crack. Then, the crack propagation effects of the electric field without PD are discussed through considering the contribution of the induced electric field inside the deformed crack space to the total energy release rate, and the effect of partial discharge on the crack propagation is also derived under the assumption of the streamer-type mechanism. Finally, the electric field curves and the energy release rate before PD are numerically calculated in the condition of different environments under remote mechanic-electric loads to investigate its effects on crack growth. It is found that the process of partial discharge is very complex and accompanied with randomness in a semi-permeable crack, and the applied mechanical stress, the electric field and dielectric ratio have influence on the crack propagation of piezoelectric materials.

Efficient energy harvesting from human motion by tristable piezoelectric cantilever 三稳压电悬臂梁从人体运动中高效收集能量

Tristable energy harvester is applied to harvesting energy from human motion in order to overcome the narrowband issues of linear resonant piezoelectric energy harvester. Based on the characteristics of human motion, time-varying potential energy function of tristable oscillator with respect to the swing angle is established to derive the theoretical model for harvesting energy from the swing motion during human walking and running. Detailed restoring forces of the tristable energy harvester under different swing angles are measured and the corresponding potential energy functions are obtained. Experimental results under various motion speeds show that the tristable energy harvester exhibits better performance than the linear one for harvesting vibration energy from the swing motion during human walking or running.

Research on the parametric array sound characteristic of the annular transducer 环形换能器参数阵声特性研究

The parametric array can generate low-frequency, high-directivity beam with small-aperture, and it is widely used in underwater navigation, underwater communication, seafloor sediments detection, sub-bottom physiognomy surveying and mapping. However, the parametric array's conversion efficiency is very low, severely restricting the parametric array's further application. In order to improve the parametric array's conversion efficiency, the paper combined the backward implicit finite difference(IBFD) method and Crank-Nicolson finite difference(CNFD) method to solve the KZK equation. We also studied the parametric array's nonlinear sound field of the annular transducer, and compared the parametric array's sound fields of the circular transducer with the same radiation area. The simulation results showed that the annular transducer could also generate low frequency sound beam with high directivity, and the annular transducer source has a slightly higher difference frequency sound pressure amplitude.

Hydrostatic piezoelectric properties of bismuth triborate crystals 三硼酸铋晶体的静压压电特性

In this report, the dielectric and hydrostatic piezoelectric properties of the monoclinic bismuth triborate crystals (BiB3O6, BIBO) were investigated at ambient temperature for potential hydrophone application. The pressure dependence of the hydrostatic charge and voltage coefficients dielectric properties (dh and gh), and hydrostatic figure of merit (FOM) dh×gh, were also studied. Results indicated that the BIBO crystals possess low dielectric loss being on the order of <;0.1% at room temperature. The hydrostatic piezoelectric coefficient dh for BIBO crystals was experimentally obtained to be dh =3.3 pC/N, while the piezoelectric hydrostatic coefficient gh was obtained to be on the order of gh =44.4×10-3 V·m/N. Moreover, the FOM value was found to be on the order of 0.15 pm2/N, comparable to that of PMN-PT single crystals (0.12-0.78 pm2/N). In addition, the pressure coefficient a1/dh (1.0×10-4 ppm/Pa) was calculated and found much lower than the reported PMN-PT single crystals (~0.001 ppm/Pa).

Real-time measurement quality evaluation for passive and wireless resonant SAW sensor 无源和无线谐振SAW传感器的实时测量质量评估

The passive wireless surface acoustic wave (SAW) sensors are advantageous for the applications under harsh environmental conditions. The wireless transmission poses great challenges in the measurement quality due to the passive SAW sensors have no signal processing ability. This paper proposes a method to predict the measurement quality. The proposed approach is evaluated in simulations and practical experiments. The measurement quality prediction results are identical to the practical standard deviation.

A Hamiltonian state space formulation of piezoelectric materials in cylindrical coordinates 压电材料在柱坐标系下的哈密顿状态空间公式

A method is presented to derive the state equations of the free vibration of piezoelectric materials under cylindrical coordinates in Hamiltonian system. Based on the 3D theory of piezoelectricity, the constitutive relations and the Lagrangian function of the generalized strain energy are rewritten in terms of the generalized displacements, i.e., displacements and electric potential and their derivatives. The Legendre transform is then applied to release the Hamiltonian function and the canonical equations are obtained through the variational operation. The canonical equations, i.e., the desired state equations, in cylindrical coordinates are obtained readily and could be used in the further analysis.

Enhanced dielectric and piezoelectric properties of Bi5Ti3FeO15 ceramics by manganese doping 锰掺杂增强Bi5Ti3FeO15陶瓷的介电和压电性能

Lightly manganese-modified, Aurivillius-type, Bi5Ti3FeO15 (BTF) ceramics were synthesized by substituting a small amount of manganese ions onto the Ti4+ sites using conventional solid-state reaction. The resultant manganese-modified BTF ceramics (BTF-Mn) exhibit better dielectric and piezoelectric properties by comparison with the control BTF. With only 4 mol% manganese substitution, the piezoelectric properties of the BTF-Mn ceramics are optimal, exhibiting a high piezoelectric coefficient (d33~23 pC/N), and a low dielectric loss tanδ (~0.3% at 1 kHz). The temperature-dependent dielectric spectra reveal that the BTF-Mn ceramics possess a high Curie temperature of 765 °C. Such BTF-Mn ceramics also exhibit nearly temperature-independent dielectric properties up to 400 °C, suggesting that the manganese-modified BTF ceramics are promising materials for high temperature piezoelectric applications.

Analysis of thickness-extensional modes in energy-trapped thin film resonators 能量捕获薄膜谐振器中厚度-拉伸模式的分析

A theoretical analysis on a rectangular energy-trapped piezoelectric thin zinc oxide film resonator operating with thickness-extensional modes is performed in this paper. The two-dimensional scalar differential equations derived by Tiersten and Stevens are used which can describe the in-plane mode distribution. Based on the scalar equations, we construct a variational formulation which provides a theoretical foundation for the Ritz method in our analysis. Free vibration frequencies and corresponding mode shapes are obtained and discussed. Modes with vibration mainly under the electroded area are proved to exist. The results show that the classical method with an approximation of neglecting the four corner regions can cause a frequency error on the order of dozens of parts per million for the fundamental thickness-extensional modes, which is significant for the design and operation of the FBARs.

Numerical simulation of the 3C single well imaging technique 3C单井成像技术的数值模拟

The three-dimensional Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) method was used to simulate the reflections of the three-component single well imaging. The simulation results proved the efficiency of the SH wave imaging, and also pointed out the potential problems. Besides, unlike the transverse components which were commonly used, the axial component was proven to be prominent in the logging data, thus might ease the filtering process.
采用三维时域有限差分(FDTD)方法模拟了三分量单井成像的反射。仿真结果证明了SH波成像的有效性,同时也指出了存在的问题。此外,与通常使用的横向分量不同,轴向分量在测井数据中被证明是突出的,因此可以简化滤波过程。

Anti-collision SAW tags based on CIDT 基于CIDT的SAW防碰撞标签

Many SAW RFID applications require the ability to read multiple tags located in close proximity, thus a structure of SAW tags based on CIDT is proposed to solve the “anti-collision” problem. Based on finite element analysis, the research of the CIDT-based anti-collision SAW tags is carried out by utilizing software COMSOL multiphysics. Primarily, the anti-collision unit of the SAW tags is studied from three aspects: the encoding method, the symmetry problem and the compatible code group of the CIDT. Then, the responses of the transducer-based SAW tags which consist of one input 7-bit Barker coded CIDT and four output IDTs in different correlation cases are studied. Furthermore, some improvement designs and extended applications of the CIDT-based anti-collision SAW tags are discussed. The simulation results show that the structure of the CIDT-based SAW tag makes it possible to solve the “anti-collision” problem for some RFID applications and can be easily combined with SAW sensors.
