Albizia odoratissima: Review on Morphology, Therapeutic uses, Phytochemical study and Pharmacological activities 气味合欢:形态、治疗用途、植物化学研究和药理活性综述

A member of the Fabaceae family and the black siris of the Mimosaceae subfamily, Albizia odoratissima Benth (L.F.) is regarded as one of the top nitrogen-fixing trees and is widely cultivated in China, India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Myanmar, Thailand, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam. Several diseases and conditions have been treated using Albizia odoratissima Benth (L.F.) It has been used in many diseases and several activities including antidiabetic activity. Among All the species of Albizia, Albizia odoratissima has good antidiabetic activity. Traditionally the different parts of plants have to cure treatments for Diabetes, Asthma, Leprosy, Bronchitis, Cough, Skin Diseases and Inflammatory pathologies such as burns, ulcers etc. Different prepared extracts of these plants and their parts have been reported for various pharmacological activities like Antidiabetic, Antioxidant, Antimicrobial, Anti-inflammatory, etc. The goal of the present review study is to provide a Pharmacognostical description, Pharmacological Activities, Therapeutic importance, and uses.

Pharmacognostic and Preliminary Phytochemical Investigation of Clerodendrum thomsoniae Leaves 汤松叶的生药学和植物化学初步研究

Clerodendrum thomsoniae (Lamiaceae) is an ornamental plant grown almost worldwide in humid environment. The phytocompounds present in plant protect the body from oxidative stress, brain disorders, skin rashes, sores and depression. Present study deals with to establish pharmacognostic, physiochemical and phytochemical standards of Clerodendrum thomsoniae leaves. Microscopical evaluation of Clerodendrum thomsoniae leaves showed the presence of covering trichomes, epidermis and other characteristics. Results of Clerodendrum thomsoniae leaves yielded 7.5% w/w total ash, alcohol extractive value not more than 23.33% w/w (Hot extraction), 21.66% w/w (Cold maceration) and water extractive value not more than 30.12% w/w (Hot extraction), 36.66% w/w (Cold maceration) and 8% w/w total moisture content by LOD. The Phytochemical investigation of extracts of Clerodendrum thomsoniae leaves shows the presence of sterols, triterpenes, alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, glycosides, proteins and carbohydrate. Pharmacognostical and phytochemical parameters determined in the present work can serve as major criteria for identity, quality and purity of a crude drug and extracts.

A Review on Method Development of High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and its Applications 高效液相色谱(HPLC)方法发展及应用综述

The most common method for identifying, separating, and measuring the medication is HPLC.To improve the approach, a variety of chromatographic factors including sample pretreatment, mobile phase selection, column selection, and detector selection were examined. Reviewing the technique creation, optimization, and validation is the article's main goal. The chemistry of the molecules, the synthetic pathway, solubility, polarity, pH and pKa values, and the activity of the functional groups are all factors that affect the creation of an HPLC technique. Information on several stages and properties including accuracy, specificity, linearity, limit of detection, and limit of quantification are provided through the validation of HPLC methods in accordance with ICH Guidelines1.

Crocus sativus L. commonly known as saffron or Kesar in India, is an important medicinal herb in Ayurveda and has been traditionally used for treatment of neurological disorders, for depression, anxiety and sleep disorders. It is uses as a coloring and flavouring agent in the preparation of various foods. Modern research has high lighted its beneficial effects in treatment of cardiovascular action, diabetic cataract, and as a potent antiinflammatory herb. Due to its high cost its quality control is of utmost importance to ensure its authenticity, purity and its medicinal properties. In the preset study the we have used Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) analysis, High performance thin layer chromatography (HPTLC) fingerprint, UV-Vis spectrophotometric analysis, 1H nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) based metabolomic study for quality control and characterization of saffron. The antibacterial and antifungal activity were evaluated using agar well-diffusion method in two pathogenic bacterial strains, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and two pathogenic fungal strains, Candida albicans, and Aspergillus brasiliensis. The 1H NMR spectroscopy couples with FTIR analysis leads to identifcation of the secondary metabolites of saffron like crocetin, picrocrocin and safranal on basis of reported diagonostic signals and peaks. The antimicrobial activity showed moderate antibacterial and antifungal activity. The TLC and HPTLC profile reveals the characteristic fingerprint. Overall the present study showed that the 1H-NMR, FTIR based metabolomics approach and TLC and HPTLC metabolite profiling can be powerful strategy for maintaining the holistic quality of the saffron.

Preliminary Phytochemical Screening and Study of In vitro Antibacterial Activity on H37RV Strain using roots of Ziziphus nummularia 根对H37RV菌体外抑菌活性的初步筛选及研究

Objective: To evaluate the invitro antimicrobial and anti-tuberculosis activity by screening its bacterial resistance using Ziziphus nummularia root extracts. Methods: Ziziphus nummularia root extracts such as aqueous and ethanol were prepared by using soxhalation process. The antimicrobial activity was screened by agar well diffusion method and antituberculosis activity were screened by MABA (Microplate Alamar Blue Assay). Results and conclusion: In preliminary phytochemical screening the extracts showed the presence of major phytoconstituents such as alkaloid, flavonoid, tannin, saponin, terpenoid, sterols, carbohydrate and protein. The Minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) were noted in both invitro activity screening. In Antimicrobial screening, the ethanolic extract of Ziziphus nummularia root was more susceptible to Staphylococci with a maximum zone of inhibition 24mm, while aqueous extract showed zone of inhibition 14mm at 80 mg/ml. It shows that ethanolic extract of Ziziphus nummularia root has good potential antimicrobial activity against aqueous extract and standard drug. Similarly in antituberculosis activity, the aqueous extract of Ziziphus nummularia root showed minimum inhibitory at a concentration of 25 μg/ml, while ethanolic extract showed minimum inhibitory concentration at 100 μg/ml. The aqueous extract of Ziziphus nummularia has moderate antituberculosis activity when compared with ethanolic extract and standard drug we used.

A Study on Phytochemical and Antioxidant properties of the Leaves of Ficus hispida Linn. 榕叶植物化学及抗氧化特性的研究。

Ficus hispida Linn. is a small but well-distributed species of the tropical fig tree. Although used in traditional medicine to treat many ailments, there is a lack of system reports about the phytochemical and antioxidant properties of the leaves of that plant. This study was conducted to investigate the phytochemical and antioxidant properties of F. hispida leaves using four different solvents (methanol, ethanol, chloroform, and petroleum ether). Qualitative and quantitative analysis are performed to determine the presence and content of phytochemicals. Four in vitro assay models were used to investigate the antioxidant activity. Phytochemical experiments confirmed the presence of alkaloids, flavonoids, flavonols, resins, saponins, proanthocyanidins, glycosides, steroids, and tannins. Qualitative analysis showed the total content of polyphenols such as phenolic, flavonoids, flavonols, and proanthocyanidin in those extracts. Among all the Extracts, ethanol extracted from the leaves of F. hispida has shown superior activity in the testing of the total antioxidant capacity assay. In DPPH and ABTS scavenging, ethanol extracted from F. hispida leaves shows the highest scavenging activity among all extractions with IC50 values of 50.33±2.59μg/ml and 83.35±1.98μg/ml respectively. This study was conducted to investigate the phytochemical and antioxidant properties of F. hispida leaves using four different solvents (methanol, ethanol, chloroform, and petroleum ether). Qualitative and quantitative analysis are performed to determine the presence and content of phytochemicals. Four in vitro assay models were used to investigate the antioxidant activity. Phytochemical experiments confirmed the presence of alkaloids, flavonoids, flavonols, resins, saponins, proanthocyanidins, glycosides, steroids, and tannins. Qualitative analysis showed the total content of polyphenols such as phenolic, flavonoids, flavonols, and proanthocyanidin in those extracts. Among all the Extracts, ethanol extracted from the leaves of F. hispida has shown superior activity in the testing of the total antioxidant capacity assay. In DPPH and ABTS scavenging, ethanol extracted from F. hispida leaves shows the highest scavenging activity among all extractions with IC50 values of 50.33±2.59μg/ml and 83.35±1.98μg/ml respectively. There are several synthetic medications available for the treatment of depression, but not enough and effective for patients and these drugs may also have negative effects. variety of medicinal plants and the medication generated from these plants have demonstrated antidepressant qualities. Reduced levels of monoamines including noradrenaline, dopamine, and serotonin in the brain are the causes of depression. Therefore, medications that increase the levels of these monoamines in the brain either by blocking monoamine oxidase or by increasing their reuptake may be effective in treating depression. The current analysis is concentrated on medicinal plants and formulations made from plants that have demonstrated antidepressant efficacy in both human and animal studies.

Background: In the ancient medical system Ayurveda, which has been utilized for thousands of years, the pharmaceutical industry concentrates on developing novel pharmaceuticals and plant-based medications. A type of blooming plant belonging to the Fabaceae family is called B.tomentosa. The main chemical components of the plant were flavonols, 5, 7-dimethoxy-30, 40-methylenedioxy flavone, and a novel dihydrobenzoxepin, 5,6-dihydro-1,7-dihydroxy-3,4-dimethoxy-methyldibenzoxepin, flavonol glycoside, triterpene saponin, phenanthraquinone, and flavonoids. In our current study, we propose to review the key phytochemical ingredients from B.tomentosa, which has been reported to have chemoprotective anticancer activity, anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic, antioxidant, and other therapeutic uses. Main body of the abstract: Bauhinia tomentosa is used in ancient for curing many diseases, this review aims to explain its outcome in presence of phytoconstituents such as flavonoids, phenols, and alkaloids. Highlighting its constituents it has been already reported that quercetin is isolated and pharmacologically active in inhibiting the microorganisms like bacteria and also fungi. As far it’s concerned, rather than quercetin many other natural compounds have also been isolated and reported. For treating various kinds of diseases. There are around 47 species of Bauhinia, by its attractive appearance of the flower, it is used as an ornamental plant, and considering its therapeutic benefits it plays an important role for future researchers. Short Conclusion: Bauhinia species is not a rare species it is widely distributed and accustomed to any kind of vegetation and climatic conditions. It has been cultivated in many areas for its remarkable pharmacological actions, which was recently reported for curing nephrotoxicity and obesity. Many new diseases are appearing in day-to-day life, whereas treating the disease with allopathic medicines prone to a lot of side effects to avoid such kind of discomforts in patient Ayurveda, Unani, homeopathy, siddha medicines play a vital role. In future investigation researchers procuring herbal plants will increase because for their safety and efficacy purposes.

Inflammatory and arthritic conditions are among those which are treated using traditional remedies, with considerable success. The aim of the present review is to collect all the current reliable data on experiments reporting the anti-inflammatory and anti-arthritic effects of medicinal plants and natural products. Investigation was carried out by analyzing recognized books and peer-reviewed papers. This article mainly focused on experimental research conducted on medicinal plants, particularly with anti-inflammatory and anti-arthritic activity with their bioactive compounds. A total of 10 plant species have been identified as active or promising sources of phytochemicals with anti-inflammatory and anti-arthritic properties.
