Anesthetic impact assessment of nefopam, xylazine, ketamine, propofol combination in local donkeys 尼福泮、噻嗪、氯胺酮、异丙酚联用对驴麻醉效果的评价

Anesthesia is used in animals to relieve pain during surgical interference or other procedures which were likely causing pain. Safe, effective, and reversible anesthesia requires selecting proper anesthetic agents. This study aimed to evaluate the qualitative and quantitative aspects of total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA) induced by using nefopam/xylazine/ ketamine and propofol combination in local breed donkeys. Nefopam/xylazine/ ketamine and propofol anesthetic combination was evaluated for pain management by using nefopam to provide the maintenance of the anesthetic stage. The onset and duration of anesthetic induction, time of maintenance, and period of recovery were recorded. Furthermore, heart rate, respiratory rate, body temperature, and blood picture were analyzed before and after administration of the combination. Our findings revealed that administration of Nefopam/ xylazine/ ketamine and propofol combination led to a smooth induction with rapid onset within one minute. The anesthetic effect was maintained for approximately 31 minutes after continuous infusion of propofol for standard deviation (19±2 minutes). This was followed by a smooth recovery within approximately 48 minutes after induction of anesthesia. It concluded that nefopam/xylazine/ketamine and propofol infusion is considered satisfactory for pain management and provide satisfactory anesthesia for short surgical procedures in donkeys.

Seroprevalence and Molecular Detection of Brucella Species among Camels at Aswan governorate 阿斯旺省骆驼布鲁氏菌的血清流行率和分子检测

Brucellosis is considered one of the highly contagious disease in animals and is zoonotic disease for human causing undulant fever. So, the objective of this study is to detect the seroprevalence of brucella among camel and detect the brucella species by PCR. A total of 200 serum samples were collected from camel in Aswan governorate and were subjected for mRBPT, CFT. The seropositive sample of mRBPT and some negative serum samples were subjected for PCR to detect Brucella species. the obtained results in this study show that 6% of serum samples were positive by mRBPT. while only 4 % of serum samples were positive by CFT. 9 out of 12 mRBPT positive serum sample were positive by PCR and the Brucella meltiness were detected in 6 out of 9 serum samples and the Brucella suis were detected in 3 serum samples out of 9 positive PCR serum samples.in conclusion detection of brucellosis in camel causing highly economic losses and causing public health hazards on human being.

The evaluation of the safety and toxicological characteristics of Acacia nilotica in broiler 乌合欢在肉鸡中的安全性及毒理学特性评价

In this study, we evaluated the clinical, biochemical, and pathological changes induced by oral administration of Acacia nilotica aqueous extract (ANAE) in broilers. A total of 71-day-old broilers were separated into one control group and six groups of 10 broiler chicks, which were subjected to a challenge. Various amounts of ANAE (1, 3, 5, 7.5, 10, and 15 g/kg b.wt) were given orally to broilers. Over a period of 10 days, indicators such as consumption of feed, alterations in body weight, and occurrences of poisoning or death were monitored. Blood samples were taken on day 5 after treatment for the purpose of evaluating biochemical parameters. Histopathological examination was performed on liver and kidney samples taken. The group that received ANAE at a dose of 15 g/kg showed decreased appetite, decreased locomotion, and increased hypersensitivity to touch, ultimately resulting in 100% mortality. The major lesions of histological liver tissue were cholestasis and adipose changes associated with significant increases in aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), and alkaline phosphatase (ALP); Indicating liver impairment. Renal tissues exhibit marked inflammation, accompanied by glomerular atrophy and changes in urea levels. Based on the above data, Acacia nilotica is toxic to broilers only at 15 g/kg, demonstrating the safety profile of ANAE in broilers.

Age-related histomorphometrical changes of rat's humerus 大鼠肱骨年龄相关的组织形态学变化

Previous research divided long bone growth into intramembranous and endochondral ossification. The latter contributes to longitudinal bone growth through the addition of new bone tissue at the physeal growth plate. Bones, also, increase in thickness through appositional bone growth of the cortical bone. The aim of the present study was to investigate the age-related histomorphometrical changes that occur during the growth of the humerus in rats as a model of the long bone. Samples were collected for light microscopy from the right humerus at 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 13, and 20 weeks (wks) of age. Histological investigation revealed that the distal physeal growth plate could be detected at 3 wks of age, while at 4 wks of age it was replaced by bone trabeculae. Morphometrically, differences were observed in the thickness of the proximal physeal growth plate, specifically its proliferative zone. The thickness of the proliferative zone initially decreased, then showed a significant increase around the age of puberty (6–8 wks), then decreased significantly from 8–20 wks of age. The mid-shaft cortical bone thickness showed a significant increase during the study. In conclusion, ageing affected both longitudinal and appositional growth, which both participated in the growth and development of the rat's humerus.
