The disadvantage of the general robot cleaner is that it works only on the designated route, so it is impossible to clean the place outside the designated route. Therefore, in this study, the direction control methodology for searching the place other than the designated route based on the finger recognition technology was studied to compensate for the shortcomings of the existing cleaner. Raspberry Pi was used as the main controller and Open CV program was used to recognize the number of fingers. In this paper, we propose a silicon-based electro-optic (EO) modulator which can modulate a sign of a topological charge number l of |l|=1 orbital angular momentum (OAM) mode. The proposed EO modulator consists of position-dependent doped Si waveguide core and undoped SiO2, cladding, which enables control of the effective index and propagation loss of two OAM constitutive eigenmodes. The modulator functions as OAM mode maintaining waveguide at – 0.33V and as topological charge sign inverter at 10V. The output OAM mode purity is calculated through electric field distribution, showing high purity of |l|>0.92 in both cases.

Due to the important role played by emotion in human interaction, affective computing is dedicated in trying to understand and regulate emotion through human-aware artificial intelligence. By understanding, emotion mental diseases such as depression, autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and game addiction will be better managed as they are all associated with emotion. Various studies for emotion recognition have been conducted to solve these problems. In applying machine learning for the emotion recognition, the efforts to reduce the complexity of the algorithm and improve the accuracy are required. In this paper, we investigate emotion Electroencephalogram (EEG) feature reduction and classification using Stack AutoEncoder (SAE) and Long-Short-Term-Memory/Recurrent Neural Networks (LSTM/RNN) classification respectively. The proposed method reduced the complexity of the model and significantly enhance the performance of the classifiers.

Buffer layer in CIGS thin-film solar cells improves energy conversion efficiency through band alignment between the absorption layer and the window layer. ZnS is a non-toxic II-VI compound semiconductor with direct-transition band gaps and n-conductivity as well as with excellent lattice matching for CIGS absorbent layers. In this study, the structural and optical properties of ZnS thin films, deposited by RF magnetron sputtering method and subsequently performed by the rapid thermal annealing treatment, were investigated for the buffer layer. The zincblende cubic structures along (111), (220), and (311) were shown in all specimens. The rapid thermal annealed specimens at the relatively low temperatures were polycrystalline structure with the wurtzite hexagonal structures along (002). Rapid thermal annealing at high temperatures changed the polycrystalline structure to the single crystal of the zincblende cubic structures. Through the chemical analysis, the zincblende cubic structure was obtained in the specimen with the ratio of Zn/S near stoichiometry. ZnS thin film showed the shifted absorption edge towards the lower wavelength as annealing temperature increased, and the mean optical transmittance in the visible light range increased to 80.40% under 500°C conditions.

ZnS is a non-toxic II-VI compound semiconductor with direct-transition band gaps and n-conductivity as well as with excellent lattice matching for CIGS absorbent layers. In this study, the structural and optical properties of ZnS thin films, deposited by RF magnetron sputtering method and subsequently performed by the rapid thermal annealing treatment, were investigated for the buffer layer. The zincblende cubic structures along (111), (220), and (311) were shown in all specimens. The rapid thermal annealed specimens at the relatively low temperatures were polycrystalline structure with the wurtzite hexagonal structures along (002). Rapid thermal annealing at high temperatures changed the polycrystalline structure to the single crystal of the zincblende cubic structures. Through the chemical analysis, the zincblende cubic structure was obtained in the specimen with the ratio of Zn/S near stoichiometry.
