Recent Advancements in Robotic Minimally Invasive Surgery: A Review from the Perspective of Robotic Surgery in the Philippines 机器人微创手术的最新进展:从菲律宾机器人手术的角度回顾

This paper provides an overview of the recent advancements of robotic surgery, specifically in robotic minimally invasive surgery, focusing on the direction of robotic surgery in the Philippines. A brief introduction of robotic surgery is followed by the standards of the FDA on the general application of robotic surgical systems. This paper explores the different existing robotic systems and gives a brief description of their background, features, and its status regarding FDA-approval. The devices included in the discussion are restricted to complete robot surgical systems described as containing at least 1 robot arm with and end effector tool. Included in the list of systems are the Da Vinci, Raven, Mirosurge, Sehance, Flex Robotic, Versius and Sport. The paper also discusses the current status of the Philippines with regards to the availability and its position in the implementation of robotic surgical systems. The review concludes with a summary of the current advancements in robotic surgical systems, highlighting the most technologically advanced features of the current systems, and an overview of the future directives of the Philippines with regards to robotic surgery.

An Algorithm for Automatic Zoning based on African Swine Fever (ASF) Control Protocol 基于非洲猪瘟(ASF)控制协议的自动分区算法

Pig production is one of the largest livestock activities in agricultural sector. Among all the livestock produce, pork is the most consumed meat in the world aside from beef and chicken. However, swine diseases like African Swine Fever or ASF resulted to high mortality rates and affect the production and the livelihood of the hog raisers. ASF is a non-curable disease of pigs and have been savaging the world's pig population. As this type of disease does not have cure and vaccine, one of the ways to control and stop the spread of the virus is through zoning. Its primary purpose was to segregate the infected locale or city and restrict the trading process to implement the required mitigation control. This work developed an algorithm in Matlab that can be used in the zoning process based on the 1-7-10 protocol set by the government. Spherical geometry distance was calculated from the suspected premise and classify each city based on the defined protocol. Generated output was compared to the zoning data released by the government to determine the accuracy of the algorithm.

Laparoscopic surgery is the golden standard in surgery. It has the benefits of shorter recovery time and less scaring. Although, the problem with laparoscopy is that it poses surgeons in very awkward movements and positions that can result to musculoskeletal problems and ergonomic disorders. This paper proposes a mechanical design and its dynamic analysis for a robotic articulating laparoscopic instrument. The design will focus mainly into these two instruments: the grasper and the robotic arm.

Development of Wearable Wireless Heating E-Textile using Conductive Threads for Thermotherapy 利用导电线进行热疗的可穿戴无线加热电子纺织品的研制

Thermotherapy is an application that uses heat to relieve pain in a specific area of the body. This study proposed the development of a wireless heating e-textile belt that makes use of conductive thread as a heating element for the implementation of thermotherapy. The threads used in the fabricated device were Thermotech IP30, a stainless-steel thread, and Shieldex Yarn 117–17, a silver-coated thread. 30 samples were collected during data gathering, whichwas then subjected to the t-test formula under a 95% confidence interval to test the system's regressionmodel. Based on the results, both threads showed a linear relationship between voltage and temperature. Furthermore, the analysis showed that the two thread types could generate the recommended temperatures for thermotherapy, with a mean percentage error of 0.0074% and 0.0090% for Thermotech IP30 and Shieldex Yarn 117 -17, respectively. These percentage errors translated to maximum temperature differences of 0.281°C and 0.241°C, respectively. For further studies on the subject, the proponents recommend that improvements be made to the regularity of the system so that all heating pads would generate the same amount of voltage and resulting temperature, which would significantly improve the benefits of the fabricated device.

Calibration and Testing of the Integrated Ventilator Scalar Measurement Module for a Bag-Valve-Mask-Based Emergency Ventilator 基于袋阀罩的应急通风机集成通风机标量测量模块的校准与测试

Open-source ventilators (OSVs) are considered as an immediate response for the shortages of ventilator equipment in hospitals due to the ongoing global pandemic caused by the Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). One of the designs explored for OSVs utilizes a bag-valve-mask as a source for mechanical ventilation. Despite its availability for use and being medically accepted, proper calibration must be observed in measuring ventilator scalars such as inspiratory pressure, inspiratory flow, and tidal volume to promote the safe use of the OSV and prevent OSV users to do more harm to the patient. This study discusses different calibration techniques to properly acquire ventilator scalar measurements using an integrated ventilator scalar measurement module. All in all, different calibration setups and bag-valve-mask-based mechanisms were tested and documented to determine an effective means to acquire accurate and precise ventilator scalar measurements.

A 300-Watt Half-Bridge LLC Resonant Converter Design With Synchronous Rectification 同步整流的300瓦半桥LLC谐振变换器设计

The design of 300 watts LLC half-bridge resonant converter operating within an input range of 350 Vdc to 460 Vdc and output of 48–50 Vdc with the implementation of synchronous rectifier on the secondary side is presented. The design procedure and mathematical computation are likewise incorporated. Simulation result shows that the converter achieves the desired output with the ripple and noise voltage contained below 500mV pk–pk.The simulation for the frequency response also yielded an output of a gain margin of –18dB and a phase margin of 48 degrees which complies with the stability requirements. Likewise, the design achieves zero-volt switching and can fulfill the 20ms holdup time requirement. Meanwhile, the selection of components helps the design to achieve an efficiency of 97.30% at full load and further evaluated to meet the requirements of 80 Plus Gold Efficiency Standard.

Vehicular Movement Tracking by Fuzzy C-means Clustering of Optical Flow Vectors 基于光流矢量模糊c均值聚类的车辆运动跟踪

Vehicle Tracking and Detection has many useful applications, ranging from Automated Parking Management, to a huge-scale Automated Traffic Violator Apprehension System. For vehicle tracking which this study focuses on, it proposes the use of optical flow for identifying movement of particles, as well as Fuzzy C-means clustering on optical flow output, in order to separate disconnected moving vehicles from one another. By the end of the study, the proposed algorithm made use of the previous vehicle count from the detection algorithm and was able to successfully identify the location of the different vehicles within the frame.

For vehicle tracking which this study focuses on, it proposes the use of optical flow for identifying movement of particles, as well as Fuzzy C-means clustering on optical flow output, in order to separate disconnected moving vehicles from one another. Variety Classification of Lactuca Sativa Seeds Using Single-Kernel RGB Images and Spectro-Textural-Morphological Feature-Based Machine Learning 基于单核RGB图像和基于光谱-纹理-形态特征的机器学习的芥蓝种子品种分类

Growing lettuce become popular now and the use of specific seeds on a constraint environment relies on the proper phenotypic classification of seed germplasm. Lettuce cultivars are usually differentiated based on leaf characteristics when it is matured because its seeds are characterized by almost the same spectro–textural–morphological signatures. Visual inspection of small lettuce seeds leads to the subjective classification that is unideal for seed phenotyping. To overcome this agro–industrial challenge, computer vision was incorporated with computational intelligence. In this study, two types of Lactuca Sativa L. cultivars were used, namely grand rapid and Chinese loose–leaf lettuce seeds. A consumer–grade Huawei Nova 5T mobile phone camera was used to capture single–kernel RGB images totaling to 100 samples for each variant. RGB color space thresholding was used in seed vegetation. 22 spectro–textural–morphological features were extracted and 4 were selected using feature importance with extra trees classifier (FI–ETC). KNN, decision tree for classification (DTC), Naïve Bayes (NB), and SVM with color, texture, and morphological seed features as inputs were configured to classify the lettuce seed cultivar. DTC and SVM bested other machine learning models in classifying lettuce seeds with accuracy and sensitivity of 100% using cross and holdout validation. DTC exhibited the fastest inference time with SVM lagging 48.157% behind DTC. This developed hybrid FI–ETC–DTC model is useful for correctly sorting of seeds necessary for controlled–environment cultivation and seed breeding.

Detection of Staleness in Raw Chicken Meat Due to Salmonella spp. and Escherichia Coli Bacteria Using Metal Oxide Gas Sensor With Support Vector Machine 基于支持向量机的金属氧化物气体传感器检测生鸡肉中沙门氏菌和大肠杆菌的腐败程度

Chicken meat is one of the most consumed type of meat in the food industry. Its consumption is steadily increasing at 5% each year and demands are still on the rise. Chicken meat is highly perishable since it is easily exposed to bacteria. Bacteria reduces its overall quality and will render it to waste. The commonly found bacteria on chicken meat are Salmonella spp. and Escherichia Coli. Health risk arises as the level of these bacteria increases. The objective of the study is to detect the staleness due to Salmonella and Escherichia coli in raw chicken meat using metal oxide gas sensor with support vector machine. Six metal oxide gas sensors are used: MQ136, MQ138, TGS816, TGS822, MP901 and MQ3. A prototype device was designed using the concept of a lock-and-lock Tupperware. This is to prevent the leak of the gas inside the device. The study will limit on detecting the presence of Salmonella spp. And Escherichia coli in chicken meat. The training will be done by inserting fresh samples, chicken meat samples with salmonella and Escherichia Coli. This study will help the food industry sector especially in monitoring the freshness of the chicken meat. The researchers conducted 10 trials for a fresh chicken meat, a meat contaminated with Salmonella and E. Coli. The test resulted to an overall accuracy of 92.5% which is based on a 30-trial experiment.

Multi-Machine Transient Stability Study of an IEEE Bus 39 Test Case with Hybrid Distributed Generation using Matlab 基于Matlab的IEEE总线39混合分布式发电测试用例多机暂态稳定性研究

Integrating a large amount of hybrid Distributed Generation units has a substantial effect on the transient stability of IEEE 39-Bus System Base Model. With the increasing number of Distributed Generation (DG) sources connected to the power grid, the impact on the power system's stability is definitely higher compared to the previous decades. From the previous studies, small amount of DG connected to the grid has a negligible impact but a large amount of different DG connected to the same reference grid has a positive and negative impact on the transient stability when a fault occurred on a system. Using IEEE 39-Bus System Base Model with a Hybrid DG such as solar, wind, synchronous generators and energy storage system, the following important results were determined: The overall Transient Stability improves due to the increases in the number of stable conditions in comparison to the IEEE 39 Bus Model System without DG - Base Case; and, the removal of ESS in the Hybrid DG connection decreases the overall system stability. The integration of Hybrid DGs to the system resulted to the decrease in the reduction of Electrical Power Output of the 10 Generators during fault application.
