This study analyzed the fire intensity according to the zones classification between traditional market stores using FDS software. Modeling was conducted for the Seomoon traditional market district 4 at Daegu, which places combustibles, such as textiles and clothing near the passageway. The first ignition point assumed a short circuit fire situation at the fourth store combustible. The analysis was conducted under similar conditions as the fire situation in 2016. When there was no section wall, the fire spread rapidly through radiation in all directions from the fire-origin point. After 600 seconds, the mall was burnt to the ground. When section walls were present, however, the fire could be restricted inside the compartment. The first intensity of the two analysis conditions was predicted from the total heat energy from 200 seconds (X1) to 600 seconds (X2), where the heat generation rate began to increase rapidly. As a result of installing section walls near the fire point, heat energy generation of approximately 11.12 MW (55.68 %) was delayed. Further analysis of smoke control, according to the section wall arrangement and re-installation facilities, will be needed to study the characteristics of fire in traditional markets comprehensively.

This paper focuses on the design of a 12-kW small-scale supercritical CO2 test loop. A theoretical study, stabilization, and optimization of carbon dioxide were carried out with the application of a solar heat source based on solar thermal data in Pohang. The thermodynamic cycle of the test facility is a Rankine cycle (transcritical cycle), which contains liquid, gas, and supercritical CO2. The system is designed to achieve 6.98% efficiency at a maximum pressure of 12 MPa and a maximum temperature of 70°C. In addition, the optimum turbine inlet temperature and pressure were calculated to increase the cycle efficiency, and the application of an internal heat exchanger (IHX) was simulated. It was found that the maximum efficiency increases to 18.75%. The simulation confirmed that the efficiency of the cycle is 6.7% in May and 6.26% in June.

Movement' is an expanded concept of 'place' where people act, interact with one another and achieve a specific purpose at every moment. Wheelchairs, as a mobility aid, have a profound impact on improving the quality of physical and psychological well-being for the mobility disadvantaged groups who have mobility difficulties. Such mobility aids were developed mainly for outdoor activities, but in recent years, mobility aids for indoor spaces, the main living environment, are also being developed. Because indoor mobility aids generally move short distances repeatedly, this study examined the characteristics of lithium-ion batteries in short-distance driving of battery-powered wheelchairs and compared them with the characteristics of lithium-ion batteries in continuous driving. The result showed that the driving time for short-distance driving was 2.8% shorter than that of continuous driving. The current supplied to the motor was 15.4% higher for short-distance driving than that of continuous driving.

The development of new antifreeze mixtures containing non-amine-type corrosion inhibitors, which considers environmental protection, has become a major issue. In this study, four non-amine-type corrosion inhibitors were synthesized and used to produce five kinds of new antifreeze for automobiles to evaluate the rate of copper corrosion. The effects were evaluated by the weight change, surface observation, roughness measurement, and measurement of copper elution in the solution. The amount of copper eluted measured by ICP from Sample 4 was small, and the elution rate was prolonged. Sample 4 showed the best anti-corrosion performance owing to a corrosion suppression effect by passivating copper because the metal surface was smooth after the test, and the corrosion product layer was formed evenly on the surface as small local corrosion was observed. The major corrosion inhibitor added to Sample 4 was 1-aminomethyl(N',N'-di(2-hydroxyethyl)benzotrazole, which contained a certain amount in Sample 5 to show relatively high local corrosion but passivation in progress. Therefore, among the four corrosion inhibitors, 1-aminomethyl(N',N'-di(2-hydroxyethyl)benzotrazole had the highest corrosion inhibitory effect. This corrosion inhibitor prevents corrosion by promoting the passivation of copper on the antifreeze.

This research analyses the financial characteristics of corporate R&D intensity in the Korean capital market. It is important to pay greater attention to this subject, given the current situation of the shortage of core components domestically in Korea. Three hypotheses are postulated to investigate the financial factors of R&D investments for KOSDAQ-listed firms during the post-era of the global financial turmoil. By applying a conditional quantile regression (CQR) model, three variables included R&D intensity in the previous year (Lag_RD), the squared term of Lag_RD, and interaction between the high-tech sector and Lag_Rd, reveal significant effects on the current R&D ratio. Whereas more than half of the total variables show variable impacts between firms with higher and lower R&D intensity, only Lag_RD and squared term of Lag_RD were found to be significant. It is expected that these results may contribute to being financial catalysts for an optimal level of R&D expenditures, thereby maximizing firm value for shareholders in KOSDAQ-listed firms.

Recently, there has been considerable talk about urban regeneration support centers that are currently promoting urban regeneration projects. The reason is that the role and authority are unclear, and the experience of each local government center is not accumulated, resulting in many trial and error and side effects. This study analyzed the current state of operations of urban regeneration support centers in Chungcheongbuk-do to find desirable ways to operate them in the future. The main findings are as follows. First, the role and division between metropolitan and basic centers and field centers of urban regeneration support centers in Chungcheongbuk-do are unclear. Second, the limitations of the center's operation methods, operational autonomy, and independence are not secured. Third, as a participant in urban regeneration, it has relatively low authority and status compared to administration. Fourth, the lack of professional manpower related to urban regeneration and the instability of staff employment were derived as overall problems.

As many types of magnetic sensors are widely applied in various industries, the analysis and processing of magnetic sensor data need to be accurate. On the other hand, owing to the complexity of the magnetic field line caused by a moving magnet, the magnetic data generated by magnetic sensors are unpredictably nonlinear. Many industry systems using magnetic sensors have struggled with the nonlinear nature of magnetic sensor data. To reduce the effect of the nonlinearity, they have the target objects fixed firmly. Therefore, to collect accurate and reliable data, considerable efforts have been made to resolve the issues with the expensive tools and systems required. Through this paper, to tackle the issues, the data analysis and methodologies, including intelligent algorithms, are presented for the wrist rehabilitation system using magnetic sensors while being implemented without using expensive tools or systems. On processing magnetic sensor data, this paper adopted an intelligent algorithm, fuzzy logic, and compared the performance of other algorithms for comparison.
