Selective Transformation of Isoeugenol to Licarin A using HKUST-1 Catalyst 利用 HKUST-1 催化剂将异丁香酚选择性转化为利卡灵 A

The research delineated the utilization of Cu-MOF (HKUST-1) as a proficient heterogeneous catalyst for the selective transformation of isoeugenol to licarin A. The HKUST-1 was synthesized through a straightforward methodology and its structure was confirmed by various characterization employing a range of techniques, including X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) with Energy Dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX), and N2 adsorption/desorption. The catalyst exhibited outstanding catalytic efficacy in the selective oxidation of isoeugenol, resulting in a 75% yield of licarin A under mild conditions in the presence of TBHP. Furthermore, the catalyst demonstrated stability, retaining its activity after being reused at least four times without deterioration.

Cytotoxic and Antimicrobial Secondary Metabolites from Penicillium hetheringtonii IMBC-NMTP04 hetheringtonii青霉IMBC-NMTP04的细胞毒性和抗菌次级代谢物

Chemical investigation of the sesame-associated fungal strain Penicillium hetheringtonii IMBC-NMTP04 resulted in isolation of five compounds, penicitrinone A (1), dihydrocitrinin (2), janthinone (3), coniochaetone B (4), and 9-oxo-10(E),12(E)-octadecadienoic acid (5). Their chemical structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods, including 1D and 2D NMR and mass spectra in comparison with the literature data. Compound 1 showed modest cytotoxicity toward LNCaP, HepG2, MCF-7, KB, SK-Mel-2, and HL-60 human cancer cell lines, with IC50 values ranging from 60.1 to 84.2 mM while 5 was cytotoxic toward only HL-60 cell line (IC50 = 71.6 mM). All the compounds significantly inhibited E. faecalis, S. enterica, and C. albicans growth, with MIC values ranging from 12.5 to 50.0 mM. Compounds 2, 4, and 5 suppressed the growth of B. cereus, while both 1 and 2 showed antimicrobial effect against E. coli, with the same MIC value of 200 mM. This is the first time to report the chemical constituents of Penicillium hetheringtonii and the antimicrobial effect of 2–4.

Zinc Ions Implantation on the Surface of Commercial Papers for Antibacterial and Antifungal Applications 商业纸表面锌离子注入的抗菌和抗真菌应用

Recently, the demand for novel food-packaging materials with antimicrobial properties has been increasing drastically. In this report, we attempt to implant zinc ions on the surface of commercial paper sheets by using a hydrothermal method to create hydrozincite nanoflake structures. The formation of the hydrozincite nanostructure was attributed to the adsorption of zinc-ion on the calcite’s surface, a common filler used in commercial paper sheets. The zinc-modified paper sheet (PZn) demonstrated a high efficiency to inhibit C. albicans and E. coli growth. It is attributed to the release of the Zn2+ ions into the acidic microbial medium. Along with the eco-friendliness, and biocompatible properties of the paper substrate, the PZn demonstrated a promising application in food packing.

Synthesis of Nd - Glutamate complex for Paris polyphylla Smith stimulant application Nd -谷氨酸配合物的合成及其在多叶植物刺激中的应用

Nd(HGlu)3.3H2O complexes were successfully synthesized using Nd(NO3)3 and acid glutamic precursors. Effects of acid glutamic concentration, preparation times and Nd/acid glutamic ratios on the reaction performance and the structure of the complexes were investigated. These fabricated complexes have been characterized by infrared spectroscopy (IR), thermal analysis (TGA) and mass spectrometry (MS). The obtained results showed that Nd[H2Glu]2.3H2O complex improved the growth of Paris polyphylla Smith as compared to the control sample.

In this paper, CeO2-Pr2O3 composites were successfully fabricated using solid-phase heating and by varying the mass ratio of CeO2-Pr2O3 (CP-11, CP-12, CP-13). These synthesized materials have been characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning electron microscope (SEM) and infrared spectroscopy (IR) and Energy-Dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX). The obtained results showed that CeO2-Pr2O3 materials affected the growth of Paramignya compared to the control sample. The growth of Paramignya trimera achieved the best result under investigation region when the mass of CeO2/Pr2O3 is 1:2.

Sequencing Analysis of COI Genes Isolated from Vietnam’s Endemic Insect Species (Insecta: Plecoptera) for DNA Barcoding Database 越南特有昆虫COI基因序列分析(昆虫亚目:翅翅目

The Insecta are the most diverse group of animals on the planet. The diversity of Plecoptera aquatic insect order is used as an environmental and ecological indicator. The study of endemic species is important for confirming the national biodiversity and contributing to the determination of national sovereignty. Despite Vietnam being a biodiversity hotspot, the number of known insect species remains limited. As a result, DNA barcoding has been used as a cutting-edge technique to efficiently and rapidly classify biological species. The Cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) gene is widely regarded as a standard barcode for animal classification. In this study, we amplified and sequenced a portion of the COI gene fragment with a molecular weight of 710 bp for eight insect species belonging to the order Plecoptera, endemic to Vietnam. When compared to the previously published sequences of other Plecoptera species, the results of COI gene sequence analysis showed a high divergence of at least 9.9%. Molecular analysis of the studied species accurately demonstrated their endemism and morphological similarities. This study contributes to the development of a DNA barcoding database for endemic insects in Vietnam.

Influence of nanoclay on the fire resistance properties of epoxy-based intumescent retardant coatings for steel plate 纳米粘土对环氧基膨胀型钢板阻燃涂料耐火性能的影响

The intumescent retardant coating was fabricated by a combination of epoxy binder and flame-retardant ingredients for the steel plate. This paper investigates the influence of nanoclay content on improving fire properties of intumescent fire-retardant coatings. The fire performances of the coatings were determined by a fire test at 950oC for one hour. The coating degradation was characterized by Thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA). The morphology, composition of char was studied by Fourier transform infrared spectra (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and energy dispersive X-ray spectra (EDS). The results revealed that the intumescent coating containing 3 wt.% of nanoclay showed the best reduction in substrate temperature compared to the intumescent coating without nanoclay. The results also concluded that nanoclay increased fire protective performances of the intumescent coating.

This paper investigates the influence of nanoclay content on improving fire properties of intumescent fire-retardant coatings. The fire performances of the coatings were determined by a fire test at 950oC for one hour. The coating degradation was characterized by Thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA). The morphology, composition of char was studied by Fourier transform infrared spectra (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and energy dispersive X-ray spectra (EDS). The results revealed that the intumescent coating containing 3 wt.% of nanoclay showed the best reduction in substrate temperature compared to the intumescent coating without nanoclay. Microwave-Assisted, Ionic Liquid-Catalyzed Synthesis of 1,2-Disubstituted Benzimidazoles under Solvent-Free Conditions 微波辅助离子液体催化无溶剂条件下1,2-二取代苯并咪唑的合成

An efficient method for the synthesis of 1,2-disubstituted benzimidazoles has been developed from 1,2‐diaminobenzenes and aldehydes using 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium ([Bmim]BF4) as a catalyst under solvent-free conditions. Various products were obtained in good to excellent yields under microwave irradiation. The synthesis features some advantages such as short reaction time, environmentally benign conditions, simple work-up procedure, and high efficiency.
在无溶剂条件下,以1-丁基-3-甲基咪唑([Bmim]BF4)为催化剂,建立了以1,2-二氨基苯和醛为原料合成1,2-二取代苯并咪唑的高效方法。在微波辐照下,得到了收率高到优异的各种产物。该合成方法具有反应时间短、环境友好、工序简单、效率高等优点。

Effects of Calcination Temperature on Photocatalytic Activity of WO3 Materials for Tetracycline Degradation in Aqueous Environment under Visible Light 可见光下煅烧温度对WO3材料光催化降解四环素活性的影响

In the research, we successfully investigated effects of calcination temperature on the characteristics and photocatalytic activities of WO3 applying for degradation of antibiotics in aqueous environment under visible light. The crystal phases and optical properties of the synthesized WO3 nanoparticles were determined by an X-ray diffractometer (XRD), an UV-VIS diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (UV-VIS) and a photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL). The photocatalytic activities of the WO3 materials, which were calcinated at different temperatures, were studied via degradation of Tetracycline under visible light. Obtained results indicated that the orthorhombic phase was converted completely to monoclinic phase when the sample was calcinated at 500 oC. As compared to these WO3-300, WO3-400 and WO3-600 samples, the WO3-500 sample, which was calcinated at 500 oC, showed significant decrease in band gap energy and electron-hole recombination rate. Thus, the WO3-500 exhibited novel photocatalytic activity for Tetracycline degradation under visible light.

Characterization of Adipose‐derived Stem Cells from Breast Cancer Cell Transplanted Mice 乳腺癌细胞移植小鼠脂肪来源干细胞的表征

Mesenchymal stem cells (MCSs) from adipose tissue are reported to have a pronounced impact on tumor growth or suppression. However, so far, how the cancer cells affect the stem cells in vivo conditions has not been clarified. In this study, we evaluated the impact of breast cancer cells on the characteristics of adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs) under in vivo conditions. ADSCs were obtained from Balb/c mice in three consecutive weeks after transplantation with 1×106 MCF7 cells. The results showed that the amount of ADSCs per one gram fat reduced over time, but that reduction was not significantly different. In fact, isolated ADSCs presenting specific MSC surface markers increased at the second passage, compared to the time of isolation. Particularly, they were highly positive for CD90 (a MSC indicator) and negative for CD45 (a hematopoietic marker). Moreover, in in vitro culture, ADSCs were successfully differentiated into adipocytes, which were detected by Oil Red O staining. This present experiment gives initial assessments of ADSC characteristics; however, further investigations are necessary to fully evaluate the differences in stem cell potency and immunophenotype caused by cancer cell transplantation.
