Inhibitory and anti-Cancer Effects of Crataegus azarolus Extracts on Gastric Cancer Cell Line (AGS) 山楂提取物对癌症细胞株的抑制和抗癌作用

Gastric cancer (GC) is one of the most frequent types of cancer around the world and most of the drugs which are used currently as anti-cancer chemotherapy hold adverse side effects on normal cells and tissues, that calls for a strong need to find new agents to prevent and treat GC. Extracts from certain plants contain compounds with health potentials with minimal side effects; one such plant is the Crataegus azarolus commonly called hawthorn. Extracts of hawthorn have been found to exert negative effects on the viability of many types of cancer via a number of pathways both in vivo and in vitro . Herein, we aimed to investigate the possible anti-proliferative effects of methanolic and acetone extracts of C. azarolus leaves on human adenocarcinoma gastric cell line (AGS). Standard phytochemical analysis were used to qualitatively characterize leaf extracts contents. AGS cells were treated for 48 h with different concentrations of both extracts (10, 50, 100, 250, and 500 µg/ml). Our results demonstrated that the methanolic crude extract showed significantly higher anti-proliferative effects than those of acetone, at both 250 and 500 µg/ml concentrations respectively, when estimated by MTT assay at (p< 0.001) with an IC 50 values 293.7 µg/ml. On the other hand, acetone extract treatment showed that 500 µg/ml had a high significant effect at (p< 0.001) with an IC 50 values 576.6 µg/ml. In conclusion, the results of the present study indicated that leaf extracts of C. azarolus limited the growth of AGS.

Improvement performance by using Machine learning algorithms for fake news detection 利用机器学习算法提高假新闻检测性能

The prevalence of internet use and the volume of actual-time data created and shared on social media sites and applications have raised the risk of spreading harmful or misunderstanding content, engaging in unlawful activity, abusing others, and disseminating false information. As of today, some studies have been done on fake news recognition in the Kurdish language. For extremely resourced languages like Arabic, English, and other international languages, false news detection is a well-researched research subject. Less resourced languages, however, stay out of attention because there is no labeled fake corpus, no fact-checking website, and no access to NPL tools. This paper illustrates the process of identifying fake news, using two components of the dataset for fake news and actual news. Several classifiers were then applied to the quantity after using identifiers as a highlight of selection. Results of the proposed study demonstrated that Passive-Aggressive Classifier (PAC) outperformed the other classifiers on both datasets the dataset with an accuracy score of 93.0 percent and other classifiers were less in some percentage that show high accuracy as well since it is 90 percent.

Analysis of the Contributory Factors to Accidents at Signalized Intersections using Generalized Estimating Equation with Negative Binomial Distribution 基于负二项分布广义估计方程的信号交叉口事故成因分析

Ensuring safety on roadways and controlling conflicting and merging streams of traffic at signalized intersections has become a major concern for transportation engineers and road users globally and locally. Many factors contribute to accident occurrence at road segments and intersections with driver behavior being the main contributor. Other factors include those related to the road and the vehicle. The primary aim of this study is to understand the impact of different factors causing traffic accidents at signalized intersections. It also include developing a descriptive study of traffic accident data to show the variation with different factors at both locations (intersections and roadway segments). To achieve this objectives, 22 signalized intersections and all roadways in Duhok city/Iraq were selected. Assessing the impacts of geometric characteristics and driver behavior on safety performance of the sites have been achieved through observations of trends from graphs and use of appropriate advanced statistical analysis such as Generalized Estimating Equation (GEE) with NB distribution and log link function. The results show that approach width, driver inattention, red light running and surface moisture condition are the significant contributor factors to accident occurrence. The study results highlight the importance of driver education, police enforcement and appropriate geometric design of intersections to the reduction of accident occurrence.
