I discuss applications of the Bogoliubov transformations in the theory of photon creation from vacuum in cavities with moving walls (the nonstationary Casimir eect), their relations to the phenomenon of squeezing and some generalizations of these transformations to the case of coupled Fermi{Bose systems with quadratic Hamiltonians.

The analytic aspects of the Bogoliubov generating functional equations and their transformation properties within the Bogoliubov canonical transformation method are studied. The classical Bogoliubov idea [2] to use the Wigner density operator transformation for studying the non equilibrium distribution functions within the Bogoliubov canonical transformation method is developed, a new analytic non-stationary solution to the classical N.N. Bogoliubov evolution functional equation is constructed.

We show that the Bogoliubov microscopic theory of superuidity of liquid 4 He allows quantum uctuations of both condensate and excitations. Comparison of those uctuations leads to an equation determining the mean number of atoms with zero momentum in a self-consistent way. Obtained results are in good agreement with the experiments on Bose-Einstein condensation in atomic beams. To explain experimental results on low amount of atoms in condensate in the superuid phase of liquid 4 He, we propose to consider the ground state of the condensate as a squeezed number state and discuss some corollaries coming from this conjecture.

In this brief review, we discuss quantum decoherence of an atomic Bose-Einstein condensate using Bogoliubov transformation. In particular, condensate phase is introduced and its diusion is studied. Validity of the Bogoliubov prescription is investigated and restored via the condensate phase. Role of quantum state of the condensate on the phase collapse is examined. Relation between the uctuations in the condensate particle number and the dynamics of the condensate phase is claried.

We show that Bogoliubov transformations, widely used in quantum field theory, can be also useful in quantum information theory. Namely, we show that the problem of the choice of tensor product decomposition in the system of two fermions can be analysed with the help of Bogoliubov transformations of creation and annihilation operators.

Bogoliubov transforms are discussed in some problems of quantum optics. Squeezed and rotated quadrature of an ion in a Paul trap is discussed in connection with reconstructing its quantum state using symplectic-tomography method. Symplectic and photon-number tomograms of the quadrature for squeezed and correlated states, for nonlinear coherent states and for odd/even coherent states of a trapped ion which are tomographic symbols of density operators of the states are reviewed.

An interpretation of the quantum theory is proposed, allowing an explanation of the origins of the theory principles and its mathematical formalism. In contrast to the hitherto interpretations it is based on the ontology assuming existence of omniscience. The interpretation proposed explains ‐ in consistence with the relativity theory ‐ the results of the correlation experiments implying that an unobserved elementary particle does not exist objectively (beyond our consciousness) or that a quantum system makes o non-divisive unity bound through non-spacetime interactions. According to this interpretation, both these possibilities occur simultaneously.
