Transport macro accessibility at the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo (MRSP) 圣保罗大都会区(MRSP)的交通宏观可达性

This study aims to analyze the macro accessibility of the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo (MRSP) in 2017. Based on data from the Metro Origin and Destination Survey (2017), a descriptive analysis was carried out and a Generalized Linear Model (GLM) was developed. The sample received treatment for the selection of trips departing from the residence and with territorial disaggregation levels that allow verifying the effect of centrality in the regional analysis of RMSP. The results show that the road transport infrastructure has vast territorial coverage, while rail transport infrastructure is concentrated in the center of RMSP. It was found that the closer to the center, the greater the use of individual transport and, the further away, the greater the use of public transport. Statistical modeling showed that Euclidean distance (4.3 min/km), the number of modes used in travel (8.1 min/mode), and the first mode chosen are statistically significant and relevant predictors (with bus having the longest average duration, followed by rail transport). Individual modes obtained the greatest advantage in macro accessibility since less time is used for vehicle access and less time for displacement after transport use (micro accessibility). Also, they do not depend on vehicle transfers and are faster during travel. It is concluded that investment in rail transport will allow better environmental conditions for captive users of public transport, with a decrease in micro accessibility time and a decrease in travel duration, with potential competition with individual modes.

Influence of urban greenery on thermal comfort: a case study in a tropical city 城市绿化对热舒适度的影响:热带城市案例研究

This case study focused on the city of São Luís (MA), aiming to analyze the role of urban greenery in the thermal comfort of São Luís, identifying urban and landscape planning strategies that promote the integration of urban vegetation to create a more livable and thermally comfortable environment in the city. To do so, a research methodology with an exploratory and quantitative-qualitative character was employed, involving data collection on temperature and precipitation provided by INMET, as well as a floristic survey in the central region of São Luís, considering the significant impact of urban vegetation on the city's temperature and precipitation. The results showed a strong association between the urbanization process and the increase in urban temperatures, a phenomenon known as the "urban heat island," while urban greenery has been proven as an effective strategy to mitigate this effect, even under conditions aggravated by the El Niño phenomenon. In this context, the research also revealed that an increase in urban vegetation can have positive impacts on reducing temperature and improving the thermal comfort of residents, with the analysis of climate data from 2018 to 2023 being crucial in understanding the relationship between urban vegetation and thermal conditions in the city. The results emphasize the importance of the quantitative-qualitative approach, which allows for a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of the studied phenomenon. Furthermore, the use of climate data provides a solid foundation for analysis and encourages the exploration of specific urban and landscape planning strategies, taking into consideration the effectiveness of these strategies in enhancing thermal comfort within urban centers.

Cyclomobility: Perspectives of a moving culture 循环流动:移动文化的视角

This article is derived from a research effort associated with the concerns present in many works and practices produced today on the subject of mobility, which highlight the importance that the bicycle has been assuming in society. The debate, when inserted in the appreciation of the culture of cyclomobility, tends to reveal new meanings to the contemporary city and to promote the use of bicycles in Brazilian cities as an expression of a culture in motion. In reproducing the character of descriptive and exploratory research, this Article shares some reflections about the growing impact of cyclomobility in the ways of life of the citizen and in the context of the urban space. And in advancing investigations, the analysis aimed to highlight variations in the theme, with results that problematize and project meanings of the use of bicycles in the urban space, aiming at interpreting current trends. It is expected that the reflections presented here can serve as an incentive to discussions on cyclomobility as a culture in motion, inspiring new research and practices.

Sustainability index: application for the municipalities of Ilha do Maranhão. 可持续性指数:马拉尼昂岛各市的应用。

The article aims to estimate the sustainability index (SI) for the municipalities of Ilha do Maranhão and verify if they adapt to the concepts of sustainable cities discussed in the context of emerging international conferences since the 1980s and more specifically regarding the 2030 Agenda through SDG 11- Sustainable cities and communities. The methodology used was based on applied research for the construction of the IS with the use of quantitative research based on the ABNT indicator system NBR ISO 37120:2017. As an outcome, it was noticed that those indicators are applicable to the municipalities, even with the limitations due to the partial collection of data as well as the obsolete basis for public research. Considering the results obtained for the municipalities, it was identified that they range from acceptable to regular regarding the condition of sustainability and compliance with SDG 11.

Reflections on the contribution of Environmental Education to Sustainability in the Applicability of Green Infrastructures 关于环境教育对绿色基础设施适用性可持续性的贡献的思考

The contemporary world has been marked by the permanent degradation of the environment and its ecosystem, and reflecting on social practices is necessary to articulate means of production in environmental education, in order to seek sustainability through green infrastructure. The objective is to present reflections on the contribution of environmental education along with the potential of green strategies in urban drainage, focusing on urban green infrastructures, which serve as a contribution to the formulation of public policies for the promotion of the population's quality of life and the better use of natural resources. The adopted methodology was the development of an Interaction Matrix, using the Leopold Matrix, constructed based on the grouping of typologies by the scale of application - regional, local, and specific, based on the potential these typologies have for environmental, social, and economic benefits for maintaining the quality of life in cities. It is observed that the green infrastructure options that best suit their potentials are urban green areas at the regional scale, linear parks at the local scale, and vertical gardens at the specific scale, which scored the highest potential. Among green infrastructures, the greatest benefits are found in maintaining water flow, which significantly contributes to improvements in urban drainage. The use of public policies aiming at the conservation and creation of urban green areas is essential, and the implementation of Infrastructure Planning Policies in cities will bring benefits from a social, environmental, and economic perspective.

Tree planting as a health promotion strategy on cycle paths in a municipality with unfavorable weather conditions for active transport 在气候条件不利于积极交通的城市,在自行车道上植树作为促进健康的战略

Improving conditions and encouraging active mobility has become a necessity in the current parameters of urbanization in Brazil. Using active transport, through cycling, provides a sustainable characteristic to the urban environment, integrating environmental, social and economic improvements. The present study aims to analyze the influence of afforestation on cycling structures’ comfort condition in a Brazilian municipality in a region with extreme climate conditions: high temperatures and humidity unfavorable to active transport. Temperature and relative humidity data were collected using an HTR-157 thermo-hygrometer in 7 urban cycling structures in the municipality of Sinop, State of Mato Grosso, Brazil, from March to July 2020. Temperature and humidity were used to determine the Temperature and Humidity Index (THI). The analysis using a dendrogram, carried out using the hierarchical grouping method, for the tree-lined and non-tree-lined cycle paths, showed that cycle path 7, the only one with the presence of continuous and contiguous trees on both sides of the road, showed different behavior from all the others, with more favorable temperature and relative humidity indicators for the entire analyzed period (dry and rainy). It is concluded that afforestation constitutes an important strategy for promoting health in the urban environment, providing better thermal comfort and environmental quality conditions, especially when there are low values of relative air humidity, positively supporting aspects related to afforestation such as aesthetics, safety and microclimate.

The present study aims to analyze the influence of afforestation on cycling structures’ comfort condition in a Brazilian municipality in a region with extreme climate conditions: high temperatures and humidity unfavorable to active transport. Temperature and relative humidity data were collected using an HTR-157 thermo-hygrometer in 7 urban cycling structures in the municipality of Sinop, State of Mato Grosso, Brazil, from March to July 2020. Temperature and humidity were used to determine the Temperature and Humidity Index (THI). The analysis using a dendrogram, carried out using the hierarchical grouping method, for the tree-lined and non-tree-lined cycle paths, showed that cycle path 7, the only one with the presence of continuous and contiguous trees on both sides of the road, showed different behavior from all the others, with more favorable temperature and relative humidity indicators for the entire analyzed period (dry and rainy). Under the dominance of the capitalist system, cities follow the logic of the market, since the interests of the most varied agents, such as land and real estate producers, with the consent of the State, determine the social production of urban space, a reality that can be found in the city of Londrina-PR. In this context, the objective of this article was to present what is - and if it exists - sustainability in the expansion of the urban perimeter of the city of Londrina-PR, having as a parameter the construction of housing complexes in peripheral areas of the city. To achieve this objective, the dialectic was used as a guiding paradigm, based on the document analysis method. It is concluded that despite being considered a relatively young city, Londrina-Pr was - and continues to be - the stage of an accelerated and disorderly territorial and population growth, where the construction of housing complexes contributed to the increase of the city's territorial area, placing in motion real estate speculation due to the emergence of large urban voids. This reality contributes to the perpetuation of a segregationist logic, where a large part of the population does not have access to basic infrastructure, demonstrating that the city does not have a sustainable development aimed at the quality of life of the population. There is an urgent need to change this reality.

Energy efficiency optimization of architectural projects using an Evolutionary Algorithm combined with Energy Plus 使用进化算法结合 Energy Plus 优化建筑项目能效

This study formulates an optimization problem that adjusts social housing physical parameters to minimize energy consumption and thermal discomfort. Candidate solutions were generated using Genetic Algorithm via the Python computational platform and evaluated on the EnergyPlus program. The analyzed social housing unit meets minimum conditions according to Brazilian standards NBR 15575 and 15220 and the Federal Government’s Casa Verde Amarela Program. Optimization variables included cardinal tweaking; thickness of materials that make up external walls, roofing, and flooring; external wall and roof absorptance; floor-to-ceiling height and window size. Unlike other studies, instead of optimizing the thermal transmittance of walls, roof, and floor, we decided to directly target their thickness and to optimize window size and the floor-to-ceiling height. Evaluated according to different physical project configurations, the results proved to be coherent, presenting adequate variable exploration in order to obtain a project that universalizes the use of simple and systemic techniques to improve energy efficiency and that can be applied to any type of housing. We also obtained solution automation, providing an optimal feasible solution that increases energy efficiency and reduces energy consumption, thus contributing to a more sustainable project.

Due to the accentuated urbanization process and the lack of adequate urban planning, neglecting environmental issues, Brazilian municipalities are increasingly impacted by extreme precipitation events, leading to several problems. Thus, the municipality of Juiz de Fora, due to its site condition and susceptibility to the occurrence of mass movements and floods, when associated with heavy rains, has many impacts on the population. The main objective of this research is to present the recognition of the Use and Occupation development process in the municipality of Juiz de Fora-MG, thus helping studies and future projects based on this theme. With this, a quantitative analysis of the urban occupation growth of the locality was carried out through the QGis software with the MapBiomas database, presenting information over five decades, during the years 1985 and 2021. Based on this proposal, it was found a growth of urban areas between this period, also justifying the decrease of rivers and lakes, and with the products generated in this work, it was possible to identify which classes were preserved and which areas decreased representing the change in the economic profile of the municipality of Juiz de Fora- MG. Therefore, the research contemplates and contributes to the incorporation of these parameters in monitoring the use of hydrological resources.

Structural performance of expanded polystyrene panels as an alternative building system 作为替代建筑系统的发泡聚苯乙烯板的结构性能

Single lightweight panels of expanded polystyrene (EPS), known as sandwich EPS panels, or simply EPS panels, have emerged as a building system that complemented the conventional one. In this context, this study develops an architectural and structural design for a residence with sandwich EPS panels as a building system. To set the features of the project, we chose a plot in the city of Petrolina-PE and used the SAP2000 software for the structural modeling to establish the efforts to which the walls would be subjected. The structural elements were dimensioned based on the NBR6118:2014 and the crack opening was verified according to the NBR11173:1990. Due to the small overlapping of the walls in the architectural design, the building system needed to be integrated into EPS with beams and pillars of reinforced concrete. Most of the pillars presented minimum reinforcement, while the slabs showed a reinforced lattice beam pattern. In turn, the beams presented dimensions and robust reinforcements due to the higher values of the bending moments obtained. Despite the satisfactory results, further studies should investigate this building system, as well as the national standardization and implementation of specific modeling programs.
