Evaluation of the impact of plug-in electric vehicle loading on distribution system operations 插电式电动汽车负荷对配电系统运行影响的评价

Electric transportation has many attractive features in today's energy environment including decreasing greenhouse gas emissions from the transportation sector, reducing dependence on imported petroleum, and potentially providing consumers a lower cost alternative to gasoline. Plug-in hybrid Electric (PHEV) vehicles represent the most promising approach to electrification of a significant portion of the transportation sector. Electric power utilities recognize this possibility and must analyze the associated impacts to electric system operations. This paper provides details of analytical framework developed to evaluate the impact of PHEV loading on distribution system operations as part of a large, multi-utility collaborative study. This paper also summarizes partial results of the impact of PHEVs on one utility distribution feeder.

Renewable model region harz: Climate protection and energy efficiency by modern ict and innovative operation strategies 可再生能源模式区域危害:现代信息通信技术和创新运营战略的气候保护和能源效率

The fast growth of the share of distributed and renewable energy generation is a common European target. It contributes to the protection of energy resources and environment as well as to the reduction of the dependency of primary energy imports. The integration of RES into the electric energy system has become an important challenge for the utilization and control of electric power systems, because of the fluctuating and intermittent behaviour of wind and solar power generation. In the Renewable Model Region Harz project (Reg-ModHarz), different renewable energy producers, controllable consumers and energy storage devices will be coupled to a large virtual power plant (VPP). By the co-ordination of production, storage and consumption, the proof that a stable, reliable and consumer-oriented supply of electricity is possible even with a high share of RES will to be furnished. Based on this approach, a cooperative, regional power supply system will be developed and realized in the renewable model region. The communication-technical connection of producers and consumers by means of modern ICT-solutions makes it possible to capture and coordinate the respective consumption and production characteristics.

Preserving low cost electricity while improving the riverine environment: Part two — Model results 保持低成本电力同时改善河流环境:第二部分-模型结果

This paper reports on a case study for Ghana's thermal/hydroelectric generation system that evaluates the incremental cost of returning dam outflows to pre-dam or near pre-dam conditions. This mode of operation is termed Run of River (ROR) operation. It appears that two key factors — the availability of alternatives for economically expanding hydro generation and the existence of well developed markets for energy and electricity — have a large influence on the increase in cost of ROR operation relative to the least cost operating rules.

This paper describes the challenges faced by the California ISO in testing the integration of the new California Real-Time Nodal market with the Energy Management System. The paper addresses how an operator training simulator was used for testing the real time market and some critical functions of EMS. CAISO's EMS dispatcher training simulator was modified and coupled with CAISO's Market Applications to act as a real time Market and Grid Operation Simulator. This new simulator provides realistic behavior of the physical network of California ISO grid in response to the instructions from the real time market.

Investigation of residential customer safety-line, neutral and earth integrity 调查住宅客户安全线、中性和接地完整性

Reverse polarity and neutral failures can produce potentially dangerous voltage levels within electrical consumer's premises. While earthing at the consumers premises is normally good during the installation, it may degrade over time. Existing conventional electromechanical energy meters do not detect such conditions at the consumer premises. Hence, an accurate detection of conditions such as reverse polarity, earthing and neutral failure and degradation is essential for safe and reliable operation of a household electrical system. It is highly desirable that a protection system is designed such that it should detect such conditions accurately and it should not be oversensitive, as this could lead to an unnecessarily unacceptable high level of “nuisance” operation. In addition, such a solution should have to be reliable, economical and easily adoptable into existing premises without any major modification to the installation. This paper is intended to derive various necessary indices to detect neutral and earthing failure or degradation and reverse polarity conditions at the electrical consumer's premises. The simulation is carried out with the MATLAB¯ — SIMULINK¯ software with SimPowerSystems™ toolbox. These indices can be integrated into a smart meter or similar device to accurately detect earthing and neutral failure or degradation and reverse polarity conditions at consumer premises.

The first part of this document describes the ERDF subsidiary organisation and presents the existing or forthcoming main challenges for its information system. The projects leaded by EDF R&D in the CIM standard model exchange, and their link with ERDF information system and its inter-application exchanges, are then introduced. The second part of this document describes the main extensions that EDF R&D has made and will do to the CIM standard model exchange for ERDF exchanges specificities.

Will the “missing money” in a competitive energy market be sufficiently addressed in the capacity market to garner adequate resources to keep the lights on? Can the capacity market provide economic signals to attract new investment in generation? A summary of how the New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) addresses these issues is discussed in this paper, along with a summary of the effort currently underway to design a forward capacity market.

Application of multi-agents for fault detection and reconfiguration of power distribution systems 多智能体在配电系统故障检测与重构中的应用

The electric power system has become a very complicated network at present because of re-structuring and the penetration of distributed generation and storage. A single fault can lead to massive cascading effects affecting power supply and power quality. An overall systematic solution for these issues could be obtained by an artificial intelligent mechanism called the multi-agent system. This paper presents a multi-agent system model for fault detection and reconfiguration based on graph theory and mathematical programming. The multi-agent models are simulated in Java Agent Development Framework and Matlab¯ and are applied to a power system model designed in the commercial software, the Distributed Engineering Workstation©. The circuit that is used to model the power distribution system is a simplified model of the Circuit of the Future, developed by Southern California Edison. Possible fault cases were tested and a few critical test scenarios are presented in this paper. The results obtained were promising and were as expected.

A novel methodology for power angle estimation of synchronous generator based on trajectory sensitivity analysis 基于轨迹灵敏度分析的同步发电机功率角估计新方法

This paper proposes a new indirect approach to estimate the power angle of synchronous generators from three-phase currents and voltages, and field voltage measurements. An auxiliary algebraic equation, which relates the power angle with generator parameters and measurements, is included in the generator model. Therefore, the generator is modeled by a set of differential-algebraic equations (DAEs). The procedure is split into two steps. In the first step, uncertain parameters and the power angle are estimated simultaneously using an estimation methodology based on trajectory sensitivity analysis. In the second step, the load angle is estimated directly from the DAEs of the generator model by an implicit integration method. The power angle was correctly estimated even with noise in all the measurements and uncertainties in all the generator parameters.

Simplified time-domain simulation of detailed long-term dynamic models 详细的长期动态模型的简化时域仿真

Time-domain simulation of power system long-term dynamics involves the solution of large sparse systems of nonlinear stiff differential-algebraic equations. Simulation tools have traditionally focused on the accuracy of the solution and, in spite of many algorithmic improvements, time simulations still require a significant computational effort. In some applications, however, it is sufficient to have an approximate system response of the detailed model. The paper revisits the merits of the Backward Euler method and proposes a strategy to control its step size, with the objective of filtering out fast stable oscillations and focusing on the aperiodic behaviour of the system. The proposed method is compared to detailed simulation as well as to the quasi-steady-state approximation. Illustrative examples are given on a small but representative system, subject to long-term voltage instability.
