The article is devoted to new approaches in accuracy evaluation of information retrieval systems (with tests made for motion detection algorithms). First part of article is devoted to studying of how good is tested motion detection algorithm. New elements are added to ROC for computing new measures. These elements are based on Equal Error Rate criterion. Second part of article is devoted to visualization of progress for multiple-step motion detection algorithms. Any algorithm of this type is a set of blocks and it is important to know which gain in accuracy was achieved in Nth step. Elements of design of multiple-step motion detection algorithms are discussed. Another discussed type of visualization is dedicated to boosting (combination of two and more algorithms).

The structure of switched reluctance motor for the hybrid vehicles is shown firstly in this paper. Basing on the mechanical characteristics and the electrical characteristics, in order to optimize the drive system efficiency, reduce the noise and torque ripple, upgrade the capability of output, three different control strategies are proposed in the paper. Current chopping control, voltage chopping control and the angle position control are designed to the low, medium, high speed respectively. The whole integrated strategies and the detailed independent control algorithms are represented in the following chapters. The switched reluctance motor drive system is established to verify the correctness of the control strategies, the software program and the hardware design. The experiment results directly confirm their suitable and the flexible behaviors.

We present a novel Modular Multilevel Parallel Converter (M2PC) technology that solves key issues in the application in frequency-variable direct-drive gas turbine systems with high rotational speed as stationary power supplies as well as in mobile setups on ships, cars, and airplanes. In contrast to conventional converters, the M2PC can operate with fundamental frequencies up to the megahertz range at high efficiency. A high power quality on both generator and load side eliminates the need of additional filtering or of large commutation inductances, reduces the loss in the generator, and diminishes dielectric stress on the insulation in the generator windings. The modularity of the converter enables splitting the overall power rating into small fractions with respect to current and voltage, which can be managed with low-voltage electrolytic capacitors and field-effect transistors. Thus, the technology enables a high power density, scalability by adding or removing otherwise identical submodules in order to change peak voltage and power ratings.

Bamboo fibers were employed to replace glass fiber on unsaturated polyester resins. In this context, this document presents a study case to use Guadua Angustifolia kunt (GAK) as reinforcement in a polymeric matrix base. This study includes analysis about tensile resistance tensile strength, Young's modulus, flexural strength and flexural modulus of short bamboo fiber polymeric composite reinforced. In the development of this paper shown the method of elaboration of Polymeric composite bamboo fibers reinforced 30 % by volume. This polymeric composite reduces the final product cost and make it environment friendly reducing high rate of plastics wastes accumulating in the dumps of the cities.

In this paper the main aspects in construction of the low-power CMOS pipelined analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) are discussed. The main requirements for a 1.5 bit redundant stage of the pipeline ADC are defined. Examples of the digital and the analog error correction mechanisms for the pipelined ADC in conjunction with the power reduction mechanisms are considered.

Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks have become a major threat to current networks. This article provides an overview on existing DDoS attacks generating tools and defense methods against them. The main difficulty of exploring DDoS attack features using such tools is the problem of raising huge real network and making lots of preparations to run tests executing these tools. We provide novel system for studying different DDoS attacks and counterattack technologies in virtual network. System architecture and interface is shown. Scenarios of simulating attacks are described, test results collected, analyzed, and presented.

In the old paper of Mukhopadhyay and Narendra, the problem of disturbance rejection in the control of nonlinear systems with additive disturbance generated by some unforced dynamical systems, was formulated and solved by using neural networks for several models of varying complexity, but the purpose of this paper is how using the fuzzy set systems in the problem of disturbance rejection, and to provide theoretical justification to existence of solution. The objective is to determine the identification model and the control law to minimize the effect of the disturbance at the output. In all cases, several stages of increasing complexity of the problem are discussed in detail. Two simulation studies based on the results discussed are included towards the end of the paper.

In general, the tests for assessing the quality of the pseudorandom number generators (PRNG) are very time consuming. The paper is devoted to the problem of PRNGs assessment tests acceleration. Our approach based on the using resources of graphics cards and technology nVIDIA CUDA. This paper gives examples of parallelization of several tests from A Statistical Test Suite for Random and Pseudorandom Number Generators for cryptographic applications of the National Institute of Standards and Technology. The results of the experiments show that the approach can significantly reduce the time of PRNGs testing.

The paper analyses a random pulse width modulated technique applicable for Z-source inverter. The proposed technique comprises the random pulse position PWM with a randomised frequently triangular carrier having characteristics of both space vector and random lead-lag modulations. This random pulse PWM is produced through the logical comparison of the pseudorandom binary sequence bits with the PWM pulses corresponding to two fixed frequency triangular carriers. Matlab/Simulink was used for modelling and simulation of the proposed method. It has been found that the output harmonic spectra of a Z-source inverter operating under the PWM with randomised frequency are dispersed and continuously distributed that can significantly reduce acoustic noise generated by the inverter and the load.
