Mobile based healthcare management using artificial intelligence 使用人工智能的基于移动的医疗保健管理

In this growing age of technology it is necessary to have a proper health care management system which should be cent percent accurate but also should be portable so that every person carry with it as personalized health care system. The health care management system which will consist of mobile based Heart Rate Measurement so that the data can be transferred and diagnosis based on heart rate can be provided quickly with a click of button. The system will consist of video conferencing to connect remotely with the Doctor. The Doc-Bot which was developed earlier is now being transferred to mobile platform and will be further advanced for diagnosis of common diseases. The system will also consist of Online Blood Bank which will provide up-to-date details about availability of blood in different hospitals.

Pressure surge analysis in pump systems 泵系统压力波动分析

Power failure of pumps, sudden valve actions, and the operation of automatic control systems may cause water hammer problems in a liquid service pipelines. Steep pressure increase and decrease are often generated by such events. This pressure upset quickly propagates over the system along the associated piping. The increasing pressure propagation may cause overpressure problem, while the decreasing pressure propagation may cause vacuum problem and sometimes induce secondary pressure upset due to vapour cavity formation and collapse (vaporization and condensation) at highly elevated portions, dead ends etc. A mathematical model consists of a set of partial differential equations of hyperbolic type, which have been transformed by the method of characteristics into ordinary differential equations which are solved by the predictor-corrector method. The method of characteristics is used to find the pressure increase and decrease and hence help to decide the kind of safety device required in the water mains. Interactive software is developed that provides user to draw network structure of pipelines with components like valves, pumps etc. and also obtain the result in graphs. Thus, allowing user to not only detect faults but also provides information about which anti-surge device is to be used in order to increase the life of water mains.

Increasing demand for energy in recent years has seen a rise in development of alternative energy sources. Wind being one of the most abundant and easily available sources is an excellent alternative to conventional energy sources. Vertical Axis Wind Turbines (VAWT's) are of two type's viz. Darrieus (lift based) and Savonius (drag based). The problem associated with Darrieus is the lack of self-starting while the Savonius has a low efficiency. In order to overcome these flaws, an innovative design has been created by incorporating both the types into one single unique structure not tested before. In this design, the Darrieus blades are helically twisted to get even torque distribution. The Savonius blades are of half drum type and at the center of the assembly. This unique design allows the use Savonius as a method of self-starting the wind turbine which the Darrieus cannot achieve on its own. There are 3 Darrieus blades placed circumferentially and 2 Savonius couples attached perpendicular to each other along the shaft. The cross-section of the Darrieus blades is of NACA-4415. The objective is to eliminate the need for external motors for self-starting purposes and study the performance of the model. The testing of the model was carried out for different wind velocities. Initially the Darrieus and Savonius blades were tested independently and then the new model which combines the two designs was tested.

This paper explores the possibility and the feasibility for graduate students to fabricate their own go karts and compete against students from various colleges around the country. Our aim is to design a Go kart in the best possible manner considering the technical and economic guidelines provided in various rulebooks so that the go-kart can take on the various challenges yet to come. This paper focuses on the design, specifications and the fabrication of the go-kart.

Open source hardware based automated gardening system using low-cost soil moisture sensor 基于开源硬件的自动化园艺系统,使用低成本的土壤湿度传感器

One of the problems faced by people living in cities is lack of time. Many people have gardens in their homes. Maintenance of these gardens is tedious and time consuming task. The main aim is to implement a cost effective automated gardening system. This system helps in solving the above problem by being efficient and using fewer resources. The system uses low cost efficient soil moisture, light and temperature sensors to decide when and how much water will be provided to the potted plants. Programming languages like embedded C and python is used to configure the microcontroller. The data would be displayed through a GUI created using processing. The user will also be able to control the entire system remotely as well as monitor the sensor readings.

Assessment of spatial variability of soil physical and hydraulic properties in Netravati catchment, Karnataka State, India 印度卡纳塔克邦Netravati流域土壤物理和水力特性的空间变异评价

Site specific management and precision agriculture seeks to identify and analyze variability in soil properties. Runoff prediction and sediment yield estimation using distributed hydrologic modeling requires spatially distributed soil data especially saturated hydraulic conductivity, water content and particle size distribution. Therefore, soil data becomes one of the major inputs in any watershed management studies. The present study was conducted to analyse spatial variability in soil physical and hydraulic properties in Netravati river basin, Karnataka State, India. The spatial interpolation of soil properties was carried out by using three methods such as Ordinary Kriging (OK), Inverse Distance Weighting (IDW) and Radial Basis Function (RBF). Results indicate that soil properties such as %sand, %silt and %clay are highly variable in nature with standard deviation value of 16.08, 13.27 and 8.82. The OK method is efficient in predicting sand, silt, clay and saturated hydraulic conducted. IDW and RBF methods predicted organic matter content and bulk density with acceptable error of 1.084%, 1.09% and 0.05gm/cc, 0.04gm/cc respectively.

Urban tree canopy detection using object-based image analysis for very high resolution satellite images: A literature review 基于目标的高分辨率卫星图像的城市树冠检测:文献综述

Urban Tree Canopy (UTC) is the layer of leaves, branches and stems of trees that cover the ground when viewed from above. Remotely sensed data have played an important role in detecting urban morphologies effectively. Remote sensing datasets contain more information of earth surface as compared with usual urban maps hence used in urban planning and management. Very high resolution (VHR) satellite imageries provide resolution less than 1m. These imageries have enhanced the applications of remote sensing. Timely and accurate information of urban land cover and biophysical parameters is crucial. Earth observations which are being useable play an important role in detecting, management and solving environmental problems such as climate changes, deforestation, disasters, land use, water resource and carbon cycle. With the help of high resolution satellite imageries it is possible to get the details on earth surface. A different approach is used to get the efficient result called Object-based image analysis (OBIA) in which the image is divided into homogeneous regions prior to classification instead of classifying individual pixels. These are called segments, or image objects. OBIA have gain popularity as a method bridging the gap between the increasing amount of detailed geospatial data and the inefficient results of conventional pixel base classifiers.

A different approach is used to get the efficient result called Object-based image analysis (OBIA) in which the image is divided into homogeneous regions prior to classification instead of classifying individual pixels. These are called segments, or image objects. Adaptive parametric estimator for complex valued images 复值图像的自适应参数估计

Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images are affected by speckle which has a multiplicative nature. It is a granular noise which appears due to coherent interference of radar waves reflected from elementary scatterers. The presence of speckle greatly affects the analytical ease in terms of image classification and segmentation. Despeckling filters such as Lee, Frost, Boxcar and other have been proposed to deal with the phenomenon of speckle. However, the major concern for such filtering approaches is the preservation of features like edges and point targets while filtering the homogeneous areas. In this paper, a new approach is proposed which deals with this issue by using a statistical method that filters the different image features separately. Thus, it provides a greater level of control on the filtering process. The performance of the proposed filter is analyzed using AIRSAR C-band dataset. The results show that the proposed filter gives a good performance in terms of despeckling the homogeneous region whilst preserving the edges and point targets.

In this paper, three configurations of printed fractal antennas, such as Sierpinski Carpet, Modified Sierpinski Gasket and Koch Snowflake are designed and developed for multiband operations for GSM 1800, WLAN 2400/5800 applications. The antenna performance is analyzed for their radiation characteristics. The simulation and experimental results depict 1:2 VSWR return loss around the desired frequencies. Also a modified design configuration of Sierpinski Gasket fractal antenna is proposed in this paper.
本文针对GSM 1800、WLAN 2400/5800多波段应用,设计开发了Sierpinski Carpet、Modified Sierpinski Gasket和Koch Snowflake三种打印分形天线结构。对天线的辐射特性进行了分析。仿真和实验结果表明,在期望频率附近,VSWR回波损耗为1:2。本文还提出了一种改进的Sierpinski衬垫分形天线的设计结构。

More and more E-commerce Websites provide products with different prices which made it hard for consumers to find the products and services they want. In order to overcome this data overload, personalized recommendation engines are used to suggest products and to provide consumers with relevant data to help them decide which products to purchase. Recommendation engines are highly computational and hence ideal for the Hadoop Platform. This system aims at building a book recommendation engine which uses item or user based recommendation from Mahout for recommending books. It will analyze the data and give suggestions based on what similar users did and on the past transaction history of the user.
