Precision Agriculture (PA) is an approach to farm management that aims to develop a sustainable agriculture that optimizes crop growth decisions by increasing yields and profitability of production for the farmer. Research in this context has confronted several challenges: dynamism of crop growth management, which makes it a complex problem and difficult to model, lack of qualified agronomic services and absence of site-specific fertilizer recommendations. The proposed solution in this paper aims to provide crop recommendations for the use of fertilizers, irrigation duration… by the adoption of multi-agent systems (MAS) that will overcome the complexity of the problem. In addition, we opted for wireless sensor network (WSN) to collect data on the agricultural environment, such as temperature, moisture, humidity and light. This solution divided into four parts, starting with receiving data from the sensor, filtering these data, visualizing and controlling components and finally arriving at the mining stage as a decision support system. In this article, our simulation was in Lokoss region in order to establishing a predictive analysis on the impact of climatic change on red fruits.

Maintenance activities, such as curative maintenance, preventive maintenance and spare parts management, represent an essential axis in the industry. Its aim consists to improve the productivity of the production systems. Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is the most effective maintenance strategy used to improve the overall equipment efficiency (OEE). This research paper addresses the impact of the implantation of the TPM on overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) of two different types of machine used in the production line of energy cables industry: Assembly machine and extrusion machine.

In this paper, the LDPC (Low Density Parity Check Codes) decoding algorithm has been investigated using statistical mechanics properties. The main advantage of LDPC codes is their performance that works in near Shannon limit, and the ability to use iterative decoding algorithms. In 1989 N. Sourlas showed that error-correcting codes can be considered as Spin-Glass systems thus making it possible to model LDPC codes as an Ising model, opening the way for information theorists to solve coding problems with the power of statistical mechanics. According to N. Sourlas, the decoding problem can be solved by finding the ground state of the corresponding spin-system Hamiltonian. The main goal of this paper is to review as simple as possible the statistical properties of LDPC codes, and how it is used especially facing the decoding problem.

This paper presents a study and an adaptation of a new nature-inspired multi-objective metaheuristic algorithm, entitled the multi-objective Dragonfly Algorithm (MODA), to the optimal design of analog circuits. First, the MODA algorithm is tested, validated and compared to another metaheuristic algorithm thru test functions without/with constraints. Performance metrics are used to show the convergence accuracy to the Pareto solutions with highly uniform distribution. In the second part, the algorithm is used to optimize the performance of an analog circuit, namely a second-generation current conveyor. Comparison between MODA performances and those obtained using the MOPSO metaheuristic is provided to show potentialities of the proposed algorithm. Spice Simulations demonstrate the merits of the MODA algorithm in analog circuit design sizing.

Multi-morbidity, or the co-occurrence of two or more diseases at the same time for the same patient, is a major modern health problem in medicine. It can be modeled in network perspective and we can make use of advances in network analysis studies to get insight about this phenomenon. Despite recent trials of applying theoretical network analysis in co-morbidity context, community detection theory has not been enough explored. In this paper, we propose a step forward investigation of the use of community detection algorithms, as a mesoscopic approach of multi-morbidity analysis, to help physicians and computer scientist to tackle this phenomenon in collaborative manner. Firstly, we formulate a model of multi-morbidity in community detection framework. Secondly, we conduct a discussion based on comparative analysis, of some methodological elements from community detection literature. Four algorithms are performed in a constructed real diseases graph. Then we conclude by a discussion based on the obtained results.

Distillation is the most used separation operation in chemical industries; the important disadvantage of this process is the high energy consumption without reaching a high level of purity of bioethanol. The objective of this study is to optimize the operating conditions such as the reflux ratio, feeding tray position and column pressure of the distillation process in order to reduce the operating energy consumption and cost. The optimization was performed by the principles of central composite design (CCD) and the Artificial Neural Networks method (ANN) coupled with the desirability function. The optimal neural network configuration for the operating energy and cost has one hidden layer with tree neurons. Two models are developed and used to control and optimize the operating conditions of the distillation process. The operating energy consumption and cost of distillation column were reduced to about 50 %.

Social media platforms have exponentially grown over the past decade. Social networks platforms are used by one-in-three people on the planet, and more than two-thirds of all internet users. This explosive ascending number of users consequently lead to a growth in research of information analysis fields. The purpose of our study is to develop a method that helps propagate information efficiently throughout the social network. To manage this, it is crucial to evaluate user profiles accordingly to their shared content. The principle behind our method is that a user is more likely to share an information, if they are used to sharing content semantically related to its concept. In order to achieve this, this paper focuses on developing an algorithm, which selects seed nodes that are most likely to spread the word across the given social network. The key aspect of our method is to analyze textual content provided within a defined closed social network, while taking into consideration the relevancy aging time of content within the network. For the purpose of this analysis and given the random nature of posts shared by users, we develop our own NED (Name Entity Disambiguation) method, and UWI (Unusual Word Identification) method. We also create a semantic similarity method, in order to match an information with the right users.

Based on the singular value decomposition (SVD) approach, this paper deals with the problem of the fuzzy observer design in order to propose an actuator and sensor faults estimation method for a class of Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) descriptor models with measurable premise variables. More precisely, a new fuzzy observer design in explicit structure is developed to estimate simultaneously the system state and the unknown faults based on the use of an augmented fuzzy descriptor model which regroups the state variables, unknown faults and their successive derivatives. The exponential stability of the estimation error is studied by using the Lyapunov theory and the stability conditions are given in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Finally, an application to a rolling disc process is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

This work proposes a new design and development of photovoltaic (PV) array emulator, which is highly requested in laboratories and manufacturers where the need of testing the proper functioning of PV systems and devices has increased, this solar emulator can replicate faithfully the PV characteristics without using real PV modules. The new developed system is based on a simplified hybrid control strategy of referencing in order to ensure high accuracy and speed compared to many existing PV emulators that suffer from poor dynamic response and inaccuracy in some particular zones of the PV current-voltage characteristic. This novel control strategy is endowed with a nonlinear Lyapunov based controller so that the closed-loop of the overall system remains asymptotically stable for any operating point and mode transition of the DC-DC buck converter regardless of the load variation and weather parameters change. Simulations results using SimPower Matlab Simulink software are given and well-analyzed so as to highlight the performances of the proposed system and its improvement compared to the existing solutions.

Automatic recognition of handwritten Arabic words is a research area opens to a large number of industrial applications. However, the solution to the problem of cursive handwriting recognition still laborious because of the complexity of the morphology of Arabic script. In our work, we study and implement an offline handwritten word recognition system using the IFN / ENIT dataset of Arabic words representing the names of Tunisian cities. We have used two types of descriptors, the oriented gradient histogram (HOG) and Gabor filter for the extraction of features and as a classifier the kNN. Experiments are performed on samples extracted from the IFN/ENIT database. The results highlight the reliability of the kNN classifier for handwritten Arabic word recognition.
