E-Resources are one of the products of ICT. Use of Internet and E resources are increasing among the students. Most of the educational materials are available mode. ICT based resources are e journals, e book, internet resources, e mail publishing, wireless publishing and web link etc. It can be seen that 80% of respondents are below 25 years of age and 20% of the respondents are aged above 25. It is found that the 28% of the respondents were aware of WWW, 24% of respondents e-mail, 18% of the respondents was e-journal, 16% of the respondents were e-magazines and 14% of the respondents were e-book. It was found that majority of the respondents 32% are using the E-resources for their study. The above reveals that the respondents are more interested to use e-resources for their study. Some problems and difficulties of using these facilities required for accessing e-resources were indicated by the respondents. These are slow accessibility, lack of computer and lack of knowledge, 30% of respondents stated that slow accessibility and 22% of lack of computer.

The objective of this study was to compare the availability of web 2.0 tools on selected public and private university library websites in Bangladesh. Existing studies of web 2.0 seem to have ignored the possibility of comparing public university library websites with private university library websites. Conducting a study like this will provide an overview about the existing status of Web 2.0 tools. Content analysis was adopted as the method for the study. Twenty university library websites, comprised of ten top-ranked public and ten top-ranked private universities in Bangladesh, were studied for data collection. The findings demonstrate that the use of web 2.0 tools on the selected university library websites is still in its early stage, but it has been growing rapidly. More than 90% of the university libraries apply one or more web 2.0 tools to their websites. The private university library websites are ahead of public university libraries in terms of the integration of web 2.0 tools. Internal applications that are not publicly accessible contain information that may not be collected through content analysis since these links usually cannot be found on library web sites. This study is unique in terms of comparing public and private university library’s web contents. The findings from this comparative analysis will be useful for a university to track their own position and also those are planning to develop a website.

In virtual, electronic, info-graphic and digital world, ICT revolutionary initiatives have made considerable changes in different sectors of society. In information aspect, open access resources or open archives are boosting students, researchers and faculties to search and retrieve relevant basic and specific information easily by breaking all commercial information barriers and also to make the information reach every corner of the world. Open access information is available easily with free access and has no geographical restrictions, languages, and communications. Therefore nowadays information seekers are more dependent on these resources and more authors are choosing open access resources to publish their research contributions in the forms of books, journals, conference papers, reports, working papers, presentations and other gray literature. Here researcher conduct study to examine the level of user awareness and understanding the various aspect of open access in two selected dental college library in Bangalore city.

An innovative idea developed by the researchers should reach the end user groups. The output of any researcher can be judged in terms of patents or his publications in the respective fields. Quality and impact of research work can be based on the citation and h index. Nowadays, there are several parameters considered for evaluating the performance of the research. Citation and h index are the quality parameters used for rating the originality and use of research. They are more useful for accessing the potentials of research as well as for providing a platform for collaborative projects at national / International levels. This paper presents the comparative analysis of citation and h index for identified researcher through three popular databases viz., Google Scholar, Scopus, and Publons. Among the three databases, Google Scholar showed a higher number of citations of the selected author due to data collected from unauthenticated documents as well as well established research databases.

India is a computer-literate and Internet-savvy country. In general, the academic community in the country has pioneered the establishment and use of the Internet. Additionally, Tamil Nadu universities have been the leading institutions in the country in creating Web sites. As a result of these developments, academic institutions have been in a more privileged position to set up Web sites than other types of institutions. Their presence on the Web implies the desire of academic institutions in Tamil Nadu to provide better and more services to their students, faculty and Public. Although much of the resources have been committed to create and maintain academic institutions Web sites, there has been so little effort in evaluating the sites. The present evaluation paradigm is developed and designed against the background of general evaluation criteria of Web sites. These criteria are accuracy, authority, currency, relevancy, and stability of information. Since there is a lack of effort to examine the quality of information, a number of general criteria such as author’s qualifications, objectivity, and coverage should be further used in evaluating information content provided by academic institution Web sites.
