Concept of embedded librarianship has continued to attract attention in research and academic discourse globally, especially in the advanced countries. There is still growing interest to discovery of the perceived factors for a successful practice of the term among the developing countries. The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of Librarians’ information literacy skills, professional development, academic engagement and learning management use on practice of embedded librarianship. The study used Questionnaire to generate information from 355 librarians from 11 universities in Northeast, Nigeria. The result revealed that academic engagement, professional development and information literacy skill has positive and significant effect on embedded librarian practice while learning management system use failed to pose significant effect. Moreover, information literacy skill had positive and significant effect on academic engagement and professional development but failed to affect learning management system significantly. Also, academic engagement posed the highest effect on professional development, while learning management system use failed to produce significant effect on embedded librarian practice. The study concludes that embedded librarian practice is bright within the study environment, however, the use of information technology by the libraries and skill among the librarians was recommended.

There are many interdisciplinary subjects worldwide and this trend is growing rapidly. Among these subjects, one of the important is Agricultural Information Science. Information Science deals with the nature of Interdisciplinary Sciences and falls under the category of Applied Sciences. The field is very much synonymously and treated as equal to Informatics in some countries. The branch therefore also called as Agro Informatics and consists with both practicing nature and as a field of study. The applications of IT and Computing in other subjects and areas led to the development of other subjects such as Bio Informatics, Geo Informatics, Health Informatics, etc. Agricultural Informatics is growing rapidly and emerging as a field internationally in many countries. IT and computing applications in different areas, sectors and subjects including societal areas are considered as Information Science. Thus, Agricultural Informatics is socially connected or touched. Thus, the applications of Computing including the latest technologies in agriculture and allied areas treated as Agricultural Informatics. Though it is the application of more than technologies and includes the techniques, methodologies, procedure, etc into Agriculture. Agricultural Informatics is the analysis, management, and processing of agricultural data with the help of IT Systems. Agriculture is also an interdisciplinary field and responsible for cultivating or producing the food, feed, fiber, corn, various plants, vegetables including the domesticated animals with scientific methods. Agricultural Informatics is therefore an interdisciplinary area combines with both Agricultural Sciences and allied areas with IT & Computing. This paper is theoretical as well as conceptual in nature and deals with mainly various aspects of Agricultural Informatics viz. foundation, nature and characteristics, role and functions in detail. It also briefly explores about the stakeholders and technologies of Agro Informatics.

The present study examines the availability and recovery of web references cited in scholarly journals selected based on their high impact factor published between 2008 and 2017. A PHP script was used to crawl the Uniform Resource Locators (URL) collected from the references. A total of 5720 articles were downloaded and 237418 references were extracted. A total of 33512 URLs were checked for their availability. Further the lexical features of URLs like file extension, path depth, character length and top-level domain was determined. The research findings indicated that out of 33512 web references, 20218 contained URLs, DOIs were found in 12799 references and 495 references contained arXiv or WOS identifier. It was found that 29760 URLs were accessible and the remaining 3752 URLs were missing. Most errors were due to HTTP 404 error code (Not found error). The study also tried to recover the inaccessible URLs through Time Travel. Almost 60.55% of inaccessible URLs were archived in various web archives. The findings of the study will be helpful to authors, publishers, and editorial staff to ensure that web references will be accessible in future.

Open Access initiative in Bangladesh dates back to the opening of icddr, b Journal of Diarrhoeal Disease Research (JDDR) in 1997 by International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh. Since then considerable development of Open Access has occurred. The study also provided some recommendations for improvement of IR and open movement in Bangladesh. The paper analyzes current open access publishing trends in Bangladesh in the light of open access journals and repositories in Bangladesh. The data for the study were collected from BanglaJOL and OpenDOAR (Directory of Open Access Repositories) in August 2017.Thefindings of the study indicate that the trends towards the development of open access repositories are increasing among higher education and research institutions in Bangladesh. Through BanglaJOL nearly 97% of journals in Bangladesh are published open access. There are total 11 IR found in OpenDOAR and ROAR in Bangladesh. It is found in this study that among 11 repositories 8 repositories have specified policy rules with regards to metadata, data, content, submission, and preservation. But the scenario is different in terms of OAI-PMH compliance. Presently only 3 repositories are following the OAI-PMH protocols in Bangladesh. Moreover, this trend should be increased to a larger proportion and all toll-access publishing would be turned open in Bangladesh through mass consciousness and initiatives at broader level. This study recommends that present trend should be increased to a larger proportion and all toll-access publishing would be turned open in Bangladesh through mass consciousness and initiatives at broader level.
该研究的数据于2017年8月从BanglaJOL和OpenDOAR(开放存取存储库目录)收集。

This study investigated responses by undergraduate students to the perceived health implications in the use of mobile devices. The survey research design using the qualitative approach was adopted for the study. Five faculties common to both Lead City University and University of Ibadan, Nigeria, were purposively selected for the study while convenience sampling was used in selecting the respondents. Interview was conducted and responses analyzed on forty-eight respondents using the Nvivo software for analyzing qualitative data. Findings showed that many of the respondents had their perceptions on the health implications arising from mobile devices use. Some sources of information on these perceived health hazards include social media, radio, TV, personal experiences, friends and family members. Many reported taking precautions on their use of mobile devices based on their perceived health implications of mobile devices use. Findings also showed that while few respondents refrained from sharing the information on the perceived health hazards, many of the respondents shared this information with others despite this information not being verified. The study recommends government and other stakeholders implementing policy that mandates manufacturers of mobile devices to inform and sensitize users on the potential health hazards involved in their use, thus reducing the level of unsubstantiated information available on the use of mobile devices.
