The present paper compares library automation in first-grade college libraries affiliated to the University of Mysore. A structured questionnaire was used to collect primary inputs from college libraries to understand the present status. A total of 160 colleges were taken up for the study in which 135 (84.37%) colleges responded,15 first grade college libraries did not have librarians and ten librarians did not respond. The study’s findings reveal that 94 (69.62%) college libraries are automated. Among them, 29 (30.85%) college libraries are fully automated, 65 (69.14%) college libraries are partially automated and 41 (30.37%) libraries are not automated. The study’s findings reveal that all autonomous colleges are automated—the main reason for not automating the library in Government colleges, Private aided colleges and Unaided colleges are inadequate of finance and lack of trained manpower. It is suggested that the librarians have to attend intensive training programs on deputation or become proficient in automation work to provide effective and efficient services to users.

The premise of this study explores the students’ perception, using channels and the factors influencing sharing of knowledge in learning environment. A structured questionnaire was used for data collection from 261 undergraduate and graduate students in three private universities in Bangladesh. The results of the study found over two-thirds of students’ perception toward knowledge sharing (KS) are- it is not a plagiarism and helps to solve academic problems. Above 92% students share knowledge through each of three channels such as Internet, group discussion and social networks and over half of the students use these three channels everyday. More than four-fifths respondent students reported that reward and intention and nearly two-thirds and above stated that IT, perceived enjoyment and attitude influence their KS behavior. This study suggests that the university authority should facilitate access to enough knowledge resources, IT-enable learning environment and exercise teaching-learning methods that embed KS culture on the campus.

This study investigated the use of mobile devices for teaching by N-Power Teach beneficiaries in public primary and secondary schools in Nigeria. Descriptive survey design was adopted, and 50 beneficiaries were selected using multi-stage sampling. Data collection was through interview and data collected were transcribed and analysed using Nvivo 12 software. Findings revealed that the main ICT tool accessed by the beneficiaries was the N-Teach application (a pre-installed application) which contains textbooks, video, audio materials. The devices were reportedly used for preparing lesson notes and instructional materials. Beneficiaries reported being confident in the use of these devices for teaching, however, beneficiaries in secondary schools reported having primary school teaching application tools on their devices. School administrators reportedly had positive attitude to the use of the devices while few had initial rejection. Challenges reported in the use of the devices included poor power supply, insufficient data and network failures.
