This research was conducted to assess the materials used for the preparation of traditional medicine by traditional medical practitioners in preparing traditional medicine in Nigeria and a case study design was employed to investigate the phenomena. The study also used a purposive sampling technique, specifically convenience sampling to select participants and unstructured interview was used to collect data from the participants. A manual thematic analytical approach was done, which yielded a total of 309 codes and grouped together to form 11 sub-categories, the 11number of sub-categories were narrowed down to into 5oversearching themes(wider categories) the 5 emergent themes were narrowed down into 3 theoretical constructs. The findings from the study indicated that the Traditional medical practitioners use Biological- herbs, and Special Quranic prayers to cure diseases even though there is no formal documented information on traditional medical practice. The traditional medical practitioners visiting bushes, plucking of leaves, uprooting relevant plants for their stems and roots, cutting trees, and peeling of tree skins as primary aspect of the procedure while the secondary Procedure covers washing, cleaning, drying, chopping, pounding, packaging and preserving. In conclusion, documenting traditional medical knowledge was considered the most important factor that would encourage and patronizes these of the medicine and the ascendants’ of the traditional medical practitioners to continue with the practice. It was therefore recommended that in order to improve the use of traditional medicine and its heritage there is the need for proper documentation.

The literature in the field of Sports Medicine and identified significant journals and their countries were studied. A total of 43727 records on ‘Sports Medicine’ is covered in the MEDLINE database. 50.69% of records were journal articles in this study. Bradford Law has been used for this study and found significant journals in the field of Sports Medicine. The United States is dominated in the first rank and also covered fourth to eighth ranks and tenth rank in the study. The United States with the major publications of 62.5% of output in zone-1 study, which is in the first position followed by Germany, Denmark, England, Italy, and Turkey. In zone-2 study, the United States shared 40.6% in the first position followed by England, Switzerland, and Germany etc. In zone-1 and zone-2 combined study; it shows that United States shared 42.86% followed by England in the second position, Germany and Switzerland shared the third position, the Netherlands in the fourth position, and China in the fifth position.

Indian Citation Index database is a powerful tool that let you search, track, measure and collaborate in the sciences, social sciences, arts, and humanities to turns raw data/information into the powerful knowledge you need. A database in general is a collection of information that is organized so that it can easily be accessed for various purposes, managed, and updated regularly. This paper is discussed about the published research articles and its citation from Universities in Tamil Nadu. During period from 2004 to 2014, the maximum no of articles 234(15.03) are published in the year 2012. Among the 234,104(6.68) articles from Bharathiar university, 57(3.66)articles from Bharathidasan university and 73(4.69) Periyar University. It clearly shows the authors from BharathiarUniversity are more concentrating on Indian journals.

Any librarian in this field will need to continue not only filling these roles, but also ensuring that they themselves are part of the conversation as it moves forward and staying up-to-date with developments within this area. The concept of library involvement pertaining to metrics did not originate with altmetrics. Impact Factor was originally created primarily for use by librarians in making collection development and retention decisions. Libraries continue to bear primary responsibility for the acquisition of bibliometrics tools, most notably Web of Science, Journal Citation Reports, and Scopus, as well as the training of people in their use. As a result, librarians are already familiar with providing support for these tools, so it makes sense that librarians have expanded to support the variety of altmetrics sources and tools. Additionally, librarians serve as natural leaders when it comes to altmetrics, not only due to familiarity with resources, but also because of the relationships they maintain with several disparate groups. The article detailed about the various tools, section, evaluation methods in which libraries and librarians are supporting and interacting with altmetrics.

This paper analyses the changing scenario of information use pattern in the academic libraries of Tamilnadu. Libraries play a vital role in higher education and research. In fact, it collects a number of printed documents such as books, journals, magazines, encyclopedia, dictionaries, yearbooks, news papers and non-printed materials like CDs, Microfiche, Microfilms, Databases, e-learning resources related to the courses offered in the college/university in order to meet the various information requirements of users at graduate, post graduate and research levels. The ancient libraries preserved and circulated the information sources in the printed or written forms. But, the development of science and technology have modernized the form of documents and changed the information use pattern of users. It is seen that the present users prefer non-printed materials to printed one. In other words, the demand for non-printed materials is more than the printed one and the time utilized in the information communication technological based information sources and services is more than that in printed documents circulation section. It shows that there is a change in the information use pattern of users in higher educational libraries. Hence an attempt is made to find out the changing scenario of information use pattern and factors motivating it in the higher educational libraries of Tamilnadu.

The purpose of this study is to determine the enhancement of users’ level of satisfaction with circulation policies in public university libraries in Nigeria. A descriptive survey was adopted for the study. The population comprised all the undergraduate registered users of the university libraries in North Central Zone of Nigeria. The stratified random sampling technique was used to draw a sample of 600 registered library users for the study from four university libraries of which, 562 were retrieved from the users who were in the library. A total of seven research questions were raised and seven hypotheses formulated to guide the study. A self constructed questionnaire entitled; “Enhancing of Users’ Satisfaction with Circulation Policies in Public University Libraries in Nigeria Questionnaire” (EUSCPPULNQ) was the instrument used for the data collection. The data collected were analysed by using mean and standard deviation to answer the research questions, while z-test statistical technique was to test the formulated hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. Findings revealed that Federal universities had moderate mean in the level of satisfaction with library opening hours than State owned universities; The study also revealed that there was no significant difference between Federal and State universities in users’ level of satisfaction with library holdings, borrowers’ cards, loan periods, fines and reservation. There was no significant difference between Federal and State owned universities except in user’s level of satisfaction with library opening hours. Finally, it was recommended that public university libraries in Nigeria should extend their opening hours on Sundays to make the users more satisfied with opening hours on that day.

Outcome of the study shows that multi authored articles 64.93% prevail the single authored articles 35.07%. The degree of collaboration in NEHU is 0.65. Average number of authors per paper varies from 2.29 to 3.44. In 10 years from 2000 to 2010 the average no. of authors per paper is 2.72. . This study is in support for the fact that NEHU faculty members preferred collaborative trends for their research and publication work.

Scintometric is a branch of library and information science. Scintometric tools can be used to measure and compare the scientific activities at various levels of aggregation including institutions, sectors, provinces and countries. They can also be used to measure research collaborations, to map scientific networks and to monitor the evolution of scientific fields.
