This paper presents a novel technique for soft tissue model parameter estimation using experimental data. The most commonly used linear mass-spring-damper models are discussed and investigated in details, extended with two more complex, yet significantly more effective modeling approaches. The transfer functions of these models are created, and the analytical response curves are fit to the experimental data provided. The curve fitting procedure is followed by model parameter acquisition such as obtaining of stiffness and damping coefficients of the discussed model.

The pneumatic actuator with artificial muscles in antagonistic connection was designed and realized as result of several research projects solved at the authors' workplace. Three simulation models of this actuator using different muscle models were created in Matlab/Simulink environment for obtaining of some actuator dynamic characteristics. The position of the actuator arm can be obtained from subsystem of gear nonlinearity in simulation models. In the paper there are presented two approaches to the modeling of gear mechanism: by measured and approximated static characteristic of the actuator and by mathematical description of gear using equation of motion for rotation movement. The dynamic responses of the actuator arm position obtained by simulation of the designed models are also presented in the paper.

This paper describes the advantages of using mobile devices and the so-called active learning method in higher education. The authors use their methodological experiences to include m-learning in their teaching process, focusing specifically on higher education and engineering students. The paper also describes the authors' motivation for expanding the existing e-learning projects with mobile learning. The paper focuses on the development of an Android application through which one will examine the impacts of m-learning in the Computer science course taught at Subotica Tech.

Robotic simulations can be carried out using several goal oriented programs still researchers prefer to use the limited SimMechanics environment because of its popularity in the scientific community. One big disadvantage of SimMechanics is that only fixed ground contacts can be realized with its toolboxes, while mobil robotics projects require a variable ground contact. The aim of this paper is to introduce a SimMechanics model of a 3D ground contact intended to be used with uneven ground.

Human behavior simulation is a challenging task because its nature and the variables affecting it are still unknown. However such simulations play important role in various fields, including army, police training, architecture, emergency exits design etc. In this paper we present a complex simulation of crowd based on the PECS psychological model. We created a multi-agent system with agents affected by many real life attributes and two main scenarios: general crowd as first and families with children as second. These two scenarios were compared and valuable results were obtained.

Contemporary modern innovations in information and communication technologies (ICT) on the one hand foster the development of operation processes and marketing of products and services in organizations, and, on the other, provide a model for using information technology, which reduces the initial investment in IT and moderate the operational cost of ICT. Universities and colleges are organizations that offer services and are interested in the benefits of contemporary ICT. The paper includes a proposal of a possible and applicable ICT Ecosystem model in tertiary education.

In this work the authors present and analyze some possibilities of applying the game theory to solve economic problems, primarily microeconomic ones. The first example to illustrate the applications of the game theory gives the solution of alternatives of two companies for computer production in strategic decision-making for using the joint operative system. Alternative possibilities of companies' decision-making and repercussions of their decisions on companies' profit have been considered in the variant both of imperfect and perfect information of companies (players). In the second part of the work, authors analyze possibilities to attain the Nash equilibrium, according to the minimax criterion on the well-known example of the so-called prisoner's dilemma. At the end, by the application of the game theory, an answer is looked for the question why the people do not pay tax voluntarily; the authors also consider the duopolist's dilemma on decision-making about to give up cartels.

In this paper binary matrices are reconstructed from two orthogonal projections. In the reconstruction process particle swarm optimization is used. Since most of the reconstruction problems are NP-hard, the use of a global optimization process gave promising results. The task is to adjust the particle swarm algorithm to the problem of the reconstruction of binary matrices. The main focus is on the reconstruction of hv-convex matrices which consist of either one or more connected components. At the end of the paper the results are shown and the appropriate conclusions are drawn.

This paper provides a comparative study of several enhanced versions of the fuzzy c-means clustering algorithm in an application of histogram-based image color reduction. A common preprocessing is performed before clustering, consisting of a preliminary color quantization, histogram extraction and selection of frequently occurring colors of the image. These selected colors will be clustered by tested c-means algorithms. Clustering is followed by another common step, which creates the output image. Besides conventional hard (HCM) and fuzzy c-means (FCM) clustering, the so-called generalized improved partition FCM algorithm, and several versions of the suppressed FCM (s-FCM) in its conventional and generalized form, are included in this study. Accuracy is measured as the average color difference between pixels of the input and output image, while efficiency is mostly characterized by the total runtime of the performed color reduction. Numerical evaluation found all enhanced FCM algorithms more accurate, and four out of seven enhanced algorithms faster than FCM. All tested algorithms can create reduced color images of acceptable quality.

The Serbian Electromagnetic Field Monitoring Network - SEMONT is based on autonomous, remote sensor nodes, capable to monitor in-situ electromagnetic field in the environment and to wirelessly communicate with the central control station, uploading/downloading data. The SEMONT information network is intended for continuous monitoring of the low and high frequency field sources, performing the assessment of daily exposure of the general population over the observed area, as well as occupational exposure, considering the latest EU directives. In this paper the potential utilization of Narda sensor node AMB 8057-03 in the SEMONT system was investigated. A number of tests have been performed, in order to determine the compliance of AMB 8057-03 with the SEMONT requirements.
